December 14, 2019: North Korea Tests Long-Range Nuclear Missile

12/14/19: PBS reports that North Korea has “successfully performed another crucial test at its long-range rocket launch site.”

This second test in a week will “further strengthen its nuclear deterrent” and leave the U.S. with even less room to negotiate.

Pak Jong Chon, chief of the Korean People’s Army’s general staff, says in a statement that his country has built up “tremendous power.” Recent tests will allow the North to develop new weapons to “definitely and reliably” counter U.S. nuclear threats.

This has to be a surprise to President Trump, who said one year, six months, and one day ago, that North Korea was no longer a nuclear threat.
