4/29/21: The New York Times reports on wind and solar energy. In 2005, Jenny Chase, an industry analyst, predicted that solar power would someday represent a maximum of 1% of all energy production.
Today, experts believe solar already represents 3%.
Chase
and other analysts now believe that by 2050, 56% of the world’s energy will be
supplied by sun and wind. One example: a huge oil field in Saudi Arabia takes
up 3,000 square miles and produces four million barrels of oil per day. An area
that same size, taken up with solar panels would produce just as much energy,
would never run out, and would not cause any pollution.
