2/24/22: The Washington State Patrol trooper who told Gov. Jay Inslee to “kiss my ass,” rather than be forced to get a vaccine, has shown Inslee up, once and for all.

Suppose Governor Inslee ran Florida.

Rather than
get the shots, Robert LeMay took early retirement last October. Now he is
taking an early trip to heaven. LeMay contracted COVID-19 and died this week.
He was fifty.
It would
appear LeMay was also a believer in the QAnon myth of liberal elites running a Satanic
human-trafficking pedophile ring – which has somehow never been proven. That,
however, is supposition.
What is not
supposition is that 10,669 residents of Washington have succumbed to the
disease.
According to
the Washington State Department of Health, on the day before Mr. LeMay died,
Unvaccinated 35-64 year-olds were
• 4 times more likely to get COVID-19 compared with fully
vaccinated 35-64 year-olds.
• 7 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 compared
with fully vaccinated 35-64 year-olds.
Unvaccinated 65+ year-olds were
• 5 times more likely to get COVID-19 compared with fully
vaccinated 65+ year-olds.
• 9 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 compared
with fully vaccinated 65+ year-olds.
• 7 times more likely to die of COVID-19 compared with fully vaccinated
65+ year-olds.
The first COVID death in the U.S.A. was in Washington State. |

DOWN IN
FLORIDA, Governor Ron DeSantis is trying to carve out a special lane for
himself, to run for president in 2024. Not only has he refused to say whether
or not he has received a vaccination booster, he is backed up by a new Florida
Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo.
Dr. Ladapo
hates mask mandates. He hates vaccination campaigns unless they are voluntary. He
won’t say whether or not he has been vaccinated. And, so, the anti-vaxxers love
him – and keep dying in far greater numbers than necessary.
In fact,
during a contentious two-hour confirmation hearing, the doctor adamantly refused to answer questions posed by Democrats. Had he had the shots? He refused to say,
pleading the Fifth, I guess.
Meanwhile, nearly
69,000 Floridians have died from
COVID-19. So there’s that. A quick check shows that Florida ranks #18, for worst per capita death rate from the
disease, with 321 deaths per 100,000. That’s more than twice as many, per
capita, as in the State of Washington (153 per 100,000) where Governor Inslee
has been told he should be kissing unvaxxed posteriors.
Suppose
Governor Inslee ran Florida. There are a few variables here that would have to
be considered. Yet, a little math razzmatazz tells me (because I am not a
numbskull, like DeSantis) that if DeSantis had followed Inslee’s lead, only
33,000 residents of his state would be dead of COVID as of today.
Or, to put
it in a different way, DeSantis has, if not blood, at least germs on his hands,
and he’s helped get an extra 36,000 constituents killed.
(For an extensive look at the
kind of odds one faces, if unvaccinated, vs. those of us who took the shots,
see 1/26/22.)
