January 6 Rioters - Part XXI - Cruel Fates #1395 to #1666

This man has now been convicted.

WE WERE COMMITTED to following the stories of all the January 6 rioters to the bitter end. That end, the bitterest, came on January 20, 2025, Donald Trump’s first day of his second term as President of the United States. 

With a stroke of a pen – or a flourish of a Sharpie, in his case – he pardoned every rioter charged. Just eight days before, J.D. Vance had told reporters, Trump wouldn’t do it. “If you committed violence on that day, obviously you shouldn’t be pardoned,” he said. 

Obviously. 

Trump pardoned every one of the rioters – with, as far as I can ascertain, no exceptions. At least two rioters have said they will not accept pardons. 

That’s it.

 

My list also includes individuals who were caught up in Trump’s epic scheme to overturn the results of a “stolen election” that wasn’t stolen. We include the police officer who lost his job after he was caught and convicted of covering for rioters, Tucker Carlson, who lied about how the election was rigged, sixteen “false electors” charged in Michigan with lying, three Team Trump lawyers convicted of lying about election fraud, another disbarred for similar lying, and Rudy Giuliani, who has been destroyed financially for defaming individuals he claimed stole tens of thousands of votes. President Trump himself, made the list, as did his eighteen co-conspirators in Georgia, who really did try to steal the 2020 election. 

As of January 19, 2025, our list of criminals and alleged criminals included 1,661 names. 

That includes Mr. Trump – four times indicted – who made our list at #1150. He managed to stifle three investigations, but in a fourth he was convicted of 34 felonies, with not one juror dissenting on any of the 34 counts. In his honor, we mark his entry in his favorite skin toner color, orange.

 

Starting with #1129 on our list, in this document we begin giving details on rioters in the order we were made aware of their cases. We begin, however, with a summary of what has happened to all the rioters, #1-1666, up until the day Trump pardoned them all. 

On the last day of President Biden’s term in office, we could report that one thousand, two hundred and ninety-three (1,293) rioters and friends had pleaded guilty, been convicted by juries or in bench trials, lost jobs for supporting the rioters, or were dead.

We should also knock down the nonsensical argument that the rioters were “let in” by police – that all were peaceful “patriots” – that Ashli Babbitt was “murdered” by a police officer defending the Capitol. 

In January 2024, a new video clip was released from the point of view of a rioter banging on the doors of the House chamber. Windows were broken, furniture piled up inside to keep the doors blocked, and police officers or secret service agents have guns drawn and pointed at the men and women outside. Two GOP lawmakers, including Rep. Troy Nehls, can be seen and heard shouting at the attackers to pull back. 

In a book he wrote, Nehls described that moment: “You need to stop banging on these doors,” he says. “Stop trying to breach these doors. If you don’t, and you try to come in here, these gentlemen to my left and right with their guns drawn, they will kill you.” 

You can watch the clip, which lasts eight minutes, if you want to see the rioters being “let in” by police.

A few details: At least 600 rioters were charged with assaulting police or others during the January 6 fiasco. 

41 rioters were known to have at least one previous conviction for a violent crime. 

88 were charged with destroying government property, valued as high, in two cases, as $43,315. 

68 were charged with theft of government property. 

0 rioters were proven to have been members of Antifa. 

1 police officer lost an eye as a result of his injuries during the attack. 

An indeterminate number were permanently disabled by injuries, including Officer Aquilino Gonell. 

5 police officers died, one by heart attack, on January 7, four more by suicide in following weeks. 

It was voted in March 2023, to put up a plaque in memory of the brave officers who defended the Capitol that day. As of January 20, 2025, we know Republican lawmakers had managed to block installation.

“The true first shot in this war.” 

1395. Stephen Michael Baker: Mr. Baker was quickly identified as one of the rioters, with tipsters notifying authorities the day after the riot, and then again on January 12, six days later. Baker is said to have had a social media account under the descriptor, “Pragmatic Constitutionalist.” 

On the day of the riot, at 1:10 p.m., he can be heard as he approaches the Capitol, in a video he took, saying, “Look out your windows bitches, see what’s coming.” 

By 2:19 p.m., he had entered the building, through the broken Senate Wing Door. Not long after, police deployed teargas in a hall to try to disperse them, but Baker and others kept coming. At one point, Baker accosted an officer, asking, “Are you going to use that [gun] on us?” 

Again, Trumpers, if you’re going to attack the Capitol again in January 2025, if Trump loses again…don’t post about it and brag. 

In another video taken that day, Baker talks with a second man, identified as Edmund Wright, and they discuss the events of January 6. 

Beginning at approximately 04:46, while discussing being in the midst of a cloud of tear gas and pepper spray, WRIGHT related a statement by BAKER in which the latter claimed to have been “in the first breach inside the Capitol”:

 

We separated, so like 45 minutes later I get a text from him [Referring to BAKER], and I’m in this sea of humanity and the crowd continues to grow, and it’s getting a little angrier.. uhh and Steve tells me someone’s been shot and he doesn’t think she’s gonna make it... and oh btw, he says, “I was in the first breach inside the Capitol.”

 

Beginning at approximately 05:30, BAKER claimed to have been inside Nancy Pelosi’s office:

 

Once the crowd started moving in, I went, “I gotta get this too, man.” So I started following them into the Cap- and we got in, and it was free reign for the most part inside the building. In fact, we even got into.. I-I was in Pelosi’s office. I mean we went into Pelosi’s office.

 

At approximately 05:52, BAKER continued on the topic of being in Pelosi’s office:

 

The only thing I regret is that I didn’t like steal their computers because God knows what I could’ve found on their computers if I’d done that. But by the time I got into Pelosi’s office, unfortunately there was some damage done.

 

As I was exiting Pelosi’s office the sign was being busted up into little pieces and people were collecting it as souvenirs.

 

At approximately 21:25, BAKER expressed approval of the vandalization he claimed to have witnessed in Pelosi’s office:

 

Pelosi’s office was... ehhh. They got Pelosi’s office and you know, it couldn’t happen to a better deserving bitch.

 

After 37 minutes, he was pushed out of the building but remained on the Capitol steps. In another video, he mentions Ashli Babbitt, who has been shot. 

BAKER narrated: “But uhh, I don’t think she’s going to make it. Now they’ve announced a curfew for D.C. from six to six . . . I don’t think it’s going to happen. I think that uhh, we may have just seen the true first shot in this war.” BAKER later continued: “They came in heavy man, we got to the House, uhh, door. The House of Representatives entrance. They came in hardcore. Automatic rifles. Everything. It’s an amazing situation out here.”

 

Baker even appeared in a TV interview and gave his take on the day’s events. So, I don’t think he’ll have much of a defense. In that interview, he says, “Yeah I was quite excited to see this going on,” and stated, “Do I approve of what happened today? I approve 100%.” 

So, let’s use Baker as yet another example of who the rioters were, and what happened on January 6. 

Did police just let them in?                                                             No.

Were rioters hugging and kissing police?                                        No.

Were they led on by Antifa types, and F.B.I. plants?                       Not Steve

Were they a threat, as a group, and individually                             Yes, police thought so.

 

A few days after the 2024 election, the defendant pleaded guilty to all charges – but made it clear, he’s counting on a pardon. As ABC explains:

 

After his guilty plea, Baker told reporters that he is “very confident that I’m at the top of the list” if Trump hands out pardons. Baker said he pleaded guilty “to avoid the shaming exercise of a trial” and maintained that he didn’t do anything wrong on Jan. 6.

 

“I don’t have a regret about my behavior that day,” he said outside the courthouse.

1396. Jim Troupis: The former Dane County judge, Troupis has been indicted, as part of the plot to create fake Trump electors in Wisconsin, during the 2020 election. He now stands at risk of: 

A.    Losing his license to practice law

B.     Going to the slammer.

1397. Natalie Beyeler: Ms. Beyeler faced two misdemeanor charges, and has pleaded guilty; but that’s all the information I have at this time. She shows up on a court docket in February 2024, and takes a plea in April.

1398. Jennifer Mitchell: At first, all we knew about Ms. Mitchell, was that she was arrested on March 6, 2024, and faced lesser charges, related to the riot. Eventually, the Statement of Facts in her case, and Rioters #1399-1401, was posted. All four were part of a group that was plotting to fight on January 6, with a group chat directed by Ms. Mitchell herself. 

According to court records,

 

Between November 7, 2020 and November 17, 2020, the FBI obtained information on a Facebook messenger group chat in which members discussed “civil war” and the need to bring people together to fight against election fraud, and the need to move to encrypted platforms for planning purposes. Statements in the group included “We must rise up if they try to illegally seat Biden,” and “we have been planning. Be careful of what you post on social media. We are doing it quietly behind the scenes.”

 

Prior to the attack on the Capitol, at least one member of the chat group was clear about the plan, posting:

When Mitchell was first interviewed by federal authorities, she appeared to have trouble remembering just about everything leading up to the riot, as well as her actions that day.

One piece of evidence led to another – and another – and then a whole bunch of others. She did admit listening to Trump’s entire speech on January 6, and being close to the Capitol, but said she never went inside. 

Evidence, however, seems to show the four like-minded dopes entering the building together, and even stopping inside to pose for a group photo. 

Mitchell has now pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor.

1399-1400. John and Sarah Flanagan: As with Mitchell, at first, all we knew was that John had been arrested and Sarah had been hauled into court, as well. Now we know that evidence appears to place them inside the Capitol on January 6, and that they remained on Capitol Hill grounds well into the afternoon. 

When asked if he went inside, Flanagan told authorities that he and Sarah remained outside, good citizens, for sure. 

That would appear to be a lie. 

Sarah also lied and said she and John never got inside. 

Both have already pleaded guilty.

1401. Jason Griffin: Same as above, arrested on March 6, 2024, but definitely more truthful. When asked about his actions on January 6, Griffin admitted that at one point he was hit by pepper balls and tear gas fired by police. He also admitted going inside the Capitol – with his three friends – but only remaining inside for a few minutes. 

Which appears to be true. He has since admitted to a single misdemeanor charge (and I suspect might be cooperating with prosecutors).

 

FUN FACT: Despite their violent rhetoric, none of the members of this subgroup have been charged with assault or property damage. 

So that’s good?

“He went with a good heart.” 

1402. RICHARD ERIC STAPLES JR.: Social media! Social media! Social media! Say it MAGA fools. Don’t post if you plan to participate in a riot. On January 5, Mr. Staples petty much tips us off, as to who he is and why he ended up smack dab in the midst of a riot. That day, he posted

 

“On my way to the snake pit of Washington DC. To see the diverse group of Trump supporters on this plane is great. Goes against the whole narrative.

 

God bless America.”

At the moment, Mr. Staples climbed through a broken window, into the Capitol, and did his part to derail the democratic process, he was wearing, incongruously, a gray hooded sweatshirt bearing the words: “COURAGE IS CONTAGIOUS.” He has since admitted he entered the building, and can be seen at one point, holding up four fingers, with a friend, also making that gesture. 

“Four more years,” Staples told federal agents he meant. 

According to the Statement of Facts in his case,

 

STAPLES stated that it had been his idea to travel to Washington for the rally and that he had asked his family members and Defendant 1 [who has also been arrested] to go with him. He stated that he went with a good heart and with the intention of protesting. STAPLES indicated that he felt it was his duty to attend and that he knew it would be a historic day. 

Sadly, Staples was probably sincere. He was charged with two misdemeanors and pled guilty to one. So he’ll probably get probation and a fine. But here’s the real danger. He believed Trump’s lies, as did hundreds of rioters – by their own admissions. And we still haven’t seen a stick of evidence to prove – in court – that the 2020 election was stolen. So Staples is going to get dragged through the courts, and pay a lot of money for a lawyer, or use a public defender, and we taxpayers will. 

Trump is still lying about the last election, and if he loses again, we may see another riot, only more violent.

 

UPDATE (September 30, 2024): I was right again. Staples gets two years on probation, and must pay $500 in restitution.

1403. Ivan Todd: Ivan is the first rioter on my list to show up wearing farmer’s style, blue overalls. Phone records appear to place him inside the Capitol, and an employee at Todd’s former place of work has identified him as, shall we say, Rioter #1403. He was inside the building by 2:56 p.m., and then out again four minutes later. He’s likely another candidate for probation and a fine.

1404. Annie Vo: Ms. Vo has finally been added to our list of arrestees, long after her son, Antony Vo (#437 on our list), made the roster. He has already been convicted. According to court documents, a picture of Antony and his mother was circulated on a fraternity chat board. 

That’s a first, in this investigation. 

The day after the riot, her son posted, with pride (I think), “My mom and I helped stop the vote count for a bit.” In fact, in two social media posts, Annie’s son said he and his mom “stormed” the Capitol.

Who wants a table! 

1405. Maria DeLuca: Rarely does a day go by that we don’t read about new rioters being charged in the attack on Congress (and democracy). Ms. DeLuca is accused of helping steal a table, which was passed out a broken window during the riot, with the legs later broken off and used as weapons against police. 

Was Deluca some sort of Antifa scum? Did Ray Epps – the supposed government plant in the mob – make her do what she did? Not at all. She has impeccable conservative credentials. She interned twice for Republican members of Congress, both Rep. Lee Zeldin, and Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona, who also worked to overturn election results. She worked for Turning Point USA. She’s currently billed as a “conservative influencer” with 300,000 followers on “X,” formerly known as Twitter. 

Why was she there, that infamous day, helping bust up furniture? Nobody (except Donald J. Trump) made her do anything. 

“People went to the Capitol building because that’s Our House and that’s where we go to take our grievances,” DeLuca explained in the wake of the attack. “People feel, as do I that an election was stolen from them at it was allowed.” 

Or, to be more specific, she posted at 2:55 p.m. that day: “Fight back or let politicians steal and [sic] election? Fight back!” 

In fact, with Trump’s time in office having dwindled to only five days, she was still not willing to abide by results of the election. “If Trump declares martial law in 7 states,” she suggested on January 15, 2021, “his campaign allies could take control of the state’s [sic] ballots and overturn the results of the election in Trump’s favor. Which would be ideal.” 

Sure, if you hated free and fair elections. 

As of today, 1,231 days have passed since the 2020 election. No court has upheld evidence of significant voter fraud in that contest. 

So, DeLuca is a fool facing serious legal bills, a fine for damaging government property, and a stint behind bars.

1406-1407. THOMAS POOLER and ANGEL VILLANUEVA: The cases keep coming, and the rioters charged don’t really seem like “hostages.” Villanueva is accused of bringing pepper spray and metal-tipped darts” into the Capitol on January 6. (He later said the spray was for Antifa.) 

At 2:26 p.m. on the day of the riot, the two Florida pals entered the building, both pulling up their face coverings like MAGA bank robbers. Inside, they became separated, and Pooler exited 29 minute later. 

Three minutes later, his friend exited through a broken window; but Villanueva was headed for more serious trouble. As the Statement of Facts in his case explains:

 

Just under 30 minutes later, at approximately 4:21 p.m., Villanueva was still on the Upper West Terrace of the U.S. Capitol grounds. At that time, a fight broke out between a crowd of rioters and police officers trying to clear the area. As the officers moved forward, a group of rioters pushed back against the line of police officers. During the confrontation, one rioter struck an officer with a wooden board. Another threw a Confederate flag attached to a metal pole at the officers. Villanueva joined the crowd engaged in the confrontation with police officers. In one instance, Villanueva briefly placed his hands on the backpack of another rioter who was pushing against an officer, lending his weight to that assault. Villanueva’s hat was knocked off his head during the process. In another instance, Villanueva again moved to the front of the group of rioters pushing against the police line, and joined that push, although it’s difficult to discern from the video whether he made physical contact with the police officers.

 

On March 20, 2024, the two men plead guilty. Angel gets four months on home detention, two years on probation, 60 hours of community service, and owes $500 in restitution. 

Pooler gets a year on probation, 60 hours of community service, but must pay $1,500 in fines and restitution.

1408. Tim Finnegan: You would think it was easy to put the right-wing fables about the events of January 6 to rest. In Mr. Finnegan’s case, the idea that the members of the mob were all touristy types gets dealt probably the ten thousandth blow. He has admitted going inside the building, after he and his then-girlfriend came to D.C. that fateful day to listen to Trump speak and protest the vote.

 

Finnegan said that he followed the crowd into the building and saw other individuals throwing furniture and stealing items. Finnegan claimed that he attempted to stop these individuals but was met with obscenities and was told to mind his own business. Finnegan said that he saw an older woman who appeared to be in in distress and helped her to a group of Capitol Police Officers to receive medical aid. After that, Finnegan said he went down a set of escalators to a corridor heavily guarded by Capitol Police. Finnegan said that, at that point, he was overcome by the residual effects of the tear gas that had been deployed before his arrival to the Capitol Building. Finnegan then exited the building and went back to the hotel. Finnegan said he was inside the Capitol for approximately 20 or 30 minutes. Finnegan reiterated that he was there to peacefully protest and that he did not cause damage and did not steal items from the Capitol.

 

In a second interview with federal authorities,

 

Finnegan said that he saw destruction of property and people stealing things such as books. Finnegan said that he saw someone throw a chair at a chandelier. Finnegan also stated that three of eight videos he recorded remained on his cellphone. Finnegan allowed the FBI to record those videos.

 

Initially, he faces two charges.

1409. Nolan Freeman: Mr. Freeman is the second actor arrested in connection with the assault on Congress. It turns out that in building a case against the young rioter, F.B.I. agents did a “trash pull” at a house to determine that Freeman was living there – after he seemed to fall off the face of the earth. Search warrants of several kinds played a role, including one for a video Freeman recorded, which put him inside the Capitol at 2:23 p.m. on the day of the riot. 

Stage right, so to speak: He made his entry through a broken window that day. And so, yet another rioter is charged.

(LIKELY TRUMP SUPPORTER.)

 For purposes of comparison, on the same day Freeman was arrested, Officer Daniel Hodges, who defended the Capitol on January 6, penned an editorial for The Hill.

 

I never imagined what I experienced on Jan. 6, 2021, or that I would be one of a few dozen officers standing in between former President Donald Trump’s authoritarian dreams and American democracy. The attack on the Capitol, perpetuated by a mob commanded by Trump, was and still is an existential threat to both my city and the country at large.

 

The world looked on in horror as thousands of Trump’s most loyal followers overran police barricades, stripped law enforcement officers of our equipment and savagely beat us. They looked us in the eyes and called us – the ones protecting the Capitol – traitors.

 

The violent mob eventually gained access to the Capitol and roamed its storied halls with weapons and zip ties, evidently looking for members of Congress to kidnap, torture or kill, while our elected representatives and their staffs fled or sheltered in place, barricading their office doors, praying for safety from the fires of insurgency that some of them helped (and continue to help) spread.

 

I spoke about how the mob was organized, arrived prepared for violence and fanatically devoted to Trump. They wore tactical gear while robbing me of mine. They tried to gouge out my eye, bash in my skull with my own baton and crush me against the Capitol itself.

 

I defended the Capitol, with blood dripping from my mouth, until I could no longer. It was clear the mob that Trump assembled and directed forcibly attempted to stop the peaceful transfer of power.

 

Neither the injustice and rage I feel from that day, nor the threats I continue to receive to this day, will ever stop me from telling those who need to hear it what really happened on Jan. 6: For the first time in American history, a sitting president attempted to thwart the will of the people. The events of Jan. 6, 2021, sook the foundations of America’s democratic tradition. No longer can we pretend that “American exceptionalism” renders us immune from the violent coups we’ve seen in other countries throughout history.

 

To some, I am “just a cop,” but I don’t have to be a constitutional lawyer to know this: If someone has already tried to subvert a free and fair election once, we should not let him try again.

1410. SARAH KATHLEEN HOLMES: No information available, save for the fact she has been arrested and faces two charges. According to NPR she has already been sentenced to probation and ordered to pay $1,500 in fines and restitution.

1411-1413. ADAM KOVSKY, Jenna McGrath and Laura McGrath: The three siblings have been indicted together. Adam is said to be seen with pieces of broken furniture, from damage done inside the building. He was arrested four days before Christmas 2023. The siblings do not end up on my radar until March 21, 2024. 

So, a little checking is required. The brother has already pled guilty to a misdemeanor, and (I assume) had to return his souvenirs from the day of the attack. Namely: two pieces of broken furniture he gathered inside the Capitol Building on the day of the attack. He posed on social media with his wood – and thus, did his arrest develop. He has admitted he went with a car full of like-minded people to D.C. that day, to hear Trump ramble on (my words) at the “Stop the Steal” rally. No detailed information to be found on the sisters, yet, save for their recent arrests. 

Mr. Kovsky wins a $500 fine for his part in the riot, and will spend the next three years on probation.

1414. Donald Walker: Still waiting on more information on this defendant; but he fits the MAGA profile: White guy, middle aged, from Mississippi. He’saccused of untouristy behavior on January 6, including trying to wrestle away a bicycle barrier police were using to hold back the mob. 

It is alleged that he entered the Capitol by 2:54 p.m. 

We can also report that in wrestling over the rack, police twice sprayed Mr. Walker in the face with chemicals.

1415. Charles Espinosa: Mr. Espinosa appears to have showed up for the “tourist” visit on January 6, armed with a large, fixed-blade knife. And, like so many rioters, he had to share (allegedly) proof of his behavior on social media, in his case on Instagram. 

According to the Statement of Facts in his case,

 

A substantial amount of the social media depicting ESPINOSA on January 6, 2021 was posted by the Instagram username “Charlie_alpha_echo.” One video tagging “Charlie_alpha_echo” showed ESPINOSA on the steps of the Capitol speaking to the crowd (through a megaphone held by another rioter) saying, “I think this should be happening in every single major city in the country.” 

In fact, Espinosa requested paid time off from work on January 6-7, listing the reason as “Stop the Steal.” 

In one video posted by another user that day, “FULL FOOTAGE: Patriots STORM U.S. Capitol,” Espinosa also appears. 

Trump supporter, he believed the election was stolen.

1416. JOSHUA RYAN DALE: Like his hero, Donald Trump, Mr. Dale is a good liar. When first identified as a suspect in the January 6 attack, he told F.B.I. agents he never entered the Capitol. 

Lie #1. 

Then he claimed he would never damage property. 

Lie #2. 

He was accused of using a historical marker as a battering ram, in an attempt to bust up the certification of the electoral votes. (As so often has been true, Mr. Dale is tripped up by Facebook posts he made in the wake of the riot.) Like a doofus, Dale sent pictures to his employer, showing him participating in the attack, and was nice enough to circle himself in white. 

Dale did admit that he traveled to D.C. with five friends, so they could attend the “Stop the Steal” rally – and did later admit using the marker to pound on a door. He has now agreed to a plea deal. 

And we have a winner: Four months in the slammer, a year-long stint on probation, and $1,000 in restitution.

1417. Steve Saxiones: The Texas man came to D.C. and joined the attack on police lines defending barricades in front of the Capitol. He was briefly detained that day by badly outnumbered police. 

So it’s not likely he’s going to be able to say, “I didn’t join the riot.” 

As Scott MacFarlane notes,

 

Feds allege “Saxiones participated in an instant messaging group discussion with other members of the Proud Boys organization and leadership named the Ministry of Self Defense”…and wrote to others: “What’s the deal with flying with body armor? Does TSA f— with you?”

 

In fact, Saxiones is accused of showing up, dressed to riot, and ready to engage. After joining the fight over the racks, he grabbed a female officer in what she later called a “wrestling move” and “tried to “take her to the ground.” Other officers came to her rescue and had to fight to subdue the rioter.

 

According to investigators, Mr. Saxiones, had a vanity social media on Telegram under the alias, “Howie Feltersnatch.” During one exchange of messages, three days before the attack, a member of the chat group posted: “Gonna be war soon ……”

 

The original poster responded, “Yes Sir time to stack those bodies in front of Capitol Hill[.]”

 

The Proud Boys were primed for a fight. Saxiones, for example, joined another message group, “Boots on Ground,” which was created for Proud Boys members who had traveled to Washington, D.C. Indeed, as early as 1:00 p.m. on that fateful day, a member of the chat group stated, “Storming the capital building right now!!” Another Proud Boy called out to his friends, “Get there[.]”

 

As for Feltersnatch, he’s facing serious legal consequences. And, can I just add, that if Trump wins another term, I think his code name should be “Big Orange Feltersnatch.” It works.

Tourist with a stun gun? 

1418. ZACH RASH: Another arrest – another “tourist” at the Capitol – another tourist with a borrowed stun gun! Rash joined the tunnel battle where some of the wildest fighting occurred. He was handed a stun gun by another rioter and used it as he lunged at officers defending the entrance. When interviewed about his actions on January 6, he admitted he activated the gun – but hedged, and said, “I don’t think I used it that day,” but “it could have happened.” Well, he was asked, did he zap a cop or not. Rash said he could not “explicitly say” he hadn’t. 

At one point that day, Rash can also be seen advancing with the mob, while carrying a fire extinguisher. 

As far as the stun gun goes, it started in the hands of Bryan Shawn Smith (#969 on our list), also charged and convicted for crimes related to the attack, went to Rash, and then was passed on to Vitali Gossjankowski (#157), also convicted. 

For extra fun, Rash traveled to D.C. with Ray Epps Jr. (son of Epps Sr., Rioter #600 on our list). Ray’s dad told investigators he met Rash for the first time, after they gathered in D.C. for the protest/mob attack. 

He has now been sentenced to 27 months in prison, to serve 36 months on probation, and pay $2,000.

1419. JOSHUA SCOTT BORUM: Borum came prepared on January 6. For what? You be the judge. According to court records he was wearing “what appeared to be a ballistic plate carrier, a radio, a military style multicam helmet with a Betsy Ross flag patch on the left and American Flag patch on the top…tan gloves with fingers cut off, and a gray backpack.” He was inside the Capitol by 2:56 p.m., but soon had to retreat after police fired pepperballs at the crowd in a hallway. Borum has admitted he was inside the building, though for only a few minutes. He also told investigators he was part of the “American Regulators,” which he described as “an offshoot of the Angry Vikings.” 

Considering his choice of garb for the day, it is a bit of a surprise that he does not appear to have perpetrated any violence. The Angry Vikings are a pro-gun, pro-police group, and appear to be big Trump fans. They call themselves “patriots,” and during protests in Louisville, Kentucky, after the shooting of Breanna Taylor, they showed up to protect people from the BLM groups. 

At least one leader of the group refused to do an interview with a TV reporter after she referred to the group as “white supremacists.” 

He eventually pleads guilty, and gets two years on probation, 100 hours of community service, and a bill for $2,500 in restitution and fines.

1420-1421. Dr. Daphne Kasperek and Thomas Kasperek: Is there a doctor in the house? Like the House of Representatives – during a riot. There definitely was when this Maryland couple joined the mob. Thomas, at least, was inside the building for only twelve minutes, and is not accused of any violence. (His lawyer admits, however, that there was “a lot of violence” that day. 

(Someone should let Trump know. 

According to the Frederick News-Post, a northern Virginia newspaper: 

Thomas Kasperek is a pastor and counselor who "(provides) Christian discipleship, spiritual direction, inner-healing prayer, and miraculous healing, in both the clinical and church setting,” according to the website of a “Christ-centered, Biblically-based whole health” practice the couple now runs.

 

Daphne Kasperek is a physician who founded a medical group in 2001 and practiced at Inova Loudoun Hospital until 2022, when she was fired by the medical group after a dispute with the hospital over her COVID-19 vaccine waiver. 

 

Thomas has also been a vocal critic of elected officials, often spouting off about how the 2020 election was stolen. He even filed a lawsuit, claiming that voting machines in Loudon County, Maryland, where he lives, were rigged – and, who knows, maybe he wanted the courts to perform an exorcism.

 

Sadly, his suit was dismissed.

 

The happy couple also runs a clinic, described as a “Christ-centered, Biblically-based whole health provider, practicing telemedicine.”

 

Who knows, the couple also promises “miraculous healing,” through the intercession of Christ. 

Both Mr. and Dr. Kasperek have now pleaded guilty.

1422. Justin Daniel Perrou: Ah, these tourists! These people who were “no threat” to police on January 6, as the former president insists. Perrou is accused of grabbing a police officer’s face mask during the attack, and “forcefully yanked it down.” 

Just like all of us would do on a tourist visit to – say – the White House, or Mount Vernon, or Monticello. 

Previous to that, Perrou is allegedly seen using a black bullhorn to encourage rioters to attack police lines. Then, he grows frustrated, and throws his bullhorn at police. Later, he threw a long pole at police – and followed up with a folding chair. To cap off his tour to the Capitol, he got his hands on a can of chemical spray and hit a few cops with a shot, because that’s what any tourist would do. 

Good enough to net the Charleston, South Carolina dope five felony charges, and misdemeanor change.

1423. Luke Almond: You know this joke is coming: Were the January 6 rioters all nuts? Prior to entering the Capitol, Almond had fun playing on the scaffold set up for the January 20 inauguration. By 2:17 p.m. he had entered the building, one of the first to do so. 

Police escorted him out – through a broken window – at 2:36. In moments to follow, he had fun watching another rioter break open a door with a crowbar. By 2:54 p.m. he had entered again, but was out again a few minutes later. 

Likely to end up on probation, with a fine.

1424. LEAH EVE GREEN (a.k.a. Leah Gruppo): The Lubbock, Texas woman was arrested on April 5, 2024. She has pleaded guilty and been sentenced. Ms. Green gets seven days in the slammer, a bill for $500, regarding her participation in the riot, and is ordered to complete three years’ probation.

1425. Charles Lee Roy Mozingo III: Mozingo showed up for a riot wearing a red hat (style not specified) and carrying a large flag: TRUMP 2020. Authorities were tipped off, regarding his alleged participation in the riot, by a fellow employee. Evidence cited in the Statement of Facts indicates nothing more than Mozingo being a tiny piece of the mob, and doing no violence. 

He now has two misdemeanor offenses on his record.

1426. Andrew Miller: Plan ahead, if you hope to join a riot, and Miller, from Wilmot, Ohio, did. As early as December 22, 2020, he was trying to hook up for a ride with like-mind Trump fans, for a drive to the nation’s capital. And he did hitch a ride, in a passenger van, with 10-15 others. And why go to Washington? To protest the results of the 2020 election! 

Rioters “kicked down and smashed” a door to the Capitol Building at 2:14 p.m., and seven minutes later, Mr. Miller entered through a broken window. He came ready to rumble, with goggles and gas mask. He does appear to step between a highly agitated rioter and a camera crew – which may mitigate against his behavior. Miller later told federal authorities he had the mask and goggles because “he was anticipating trouble from Antifa groups,” during the visit. 

Good for a couple of misdemeanors – to which he has now pleaded guilty.

1427. Timothy Rowbottom: At some point in 2018, Rowbottom complained to F.B.I. agents about systematic discrimination against him, by Harrisburg, Pa. city officials. This visit helped agents identify him inside the Capitol two years later. At approximately 2:20 p.m. on the day of the riot, Timothy enters the building – and then appears to roam about, taking pictures or filming with his smartphone. 

In Statuary Hall, he keeps within the velvet rope lines. He was out the door again, a little after 3 p.m. 

He has since admitted that he went to D.C. to hear Trump speak, that he was inside the building, and that he saw other rioters destroying property and attacking police officers.

As for Mr. Rowbottom, he’s good for a misdemeanor or two.

 

UPDATE: Actually, he asks for a bench trial – and gets convicted on all four counts he faced. Also, a bit of extra checking reveals the fact that Rowbottom ran for mayor of Harrisburg, Pa. in 2021, including on an anti-gay plank, making it clear he believed homosexuality was “against God’s will.” 

Apparently, it was not God’s will that Timothy should be elected.

1428. STEVE BANNON: I realized I had not included Mr. Rumple on my list, when I had included Peter Navarro (#1377). Like Pete, Steve was sentenced to four months in prison, after he refused to give testimony about the events of January 6, before Congress. He could have pled the Fifth, if he had to. 

Anyway, he’s still appealing his sentence – and from the looks of it, he could die of cirrhosis of the liver before he ever goes to prison. If that guy’s not hitting the sauce hard, my eyes are tricking me.

1429. Jack Westly Ryan Jr.: The Missouri man is accused of assaulting police on January 6. He is accused of pushing at least two officers that day – which might not lead to tooel Miller: A tattoo artist from Florida, Mr. Miller joins the list of the indicted only days ahead of the 2024 election. As with so many other rioters that day, he is alleged to have assaulted police. He stands accused of trying to wrestle away a bike rack from police, that they were using to block the mob – then throwing a pole at officers – then trying to take away an officer’s riot shield. 

You know: Just “hugging and kissing” the police on a “day of love,” as Candidate Trump now says.

 1430. JACK CHAMBERS: Chambers’ case should be simple to resolve. He admits that he and a friend drove from South Lebanon, Ohio, to the capital to be there in time to hear Donald Trump speak/lie on January 6. They even slept in their car one night, on the way to Washington D.C. Chambers has admitted he was inside the Capitol Building. He’s not charged with any violence or damage to property. So he’s one of the fools who will likely get probation. 

He has pleaded guilty and it will cost him 30 months on probation, and $1,000 in fines and restitution.

1431. Darl McDorman: If court documents are correct, many of these f**ksticks deserve to go to prison.

 

Inside the Tunnel, rioters battled with law enforcement, including by throwing objects at the police line. At approximately 4:34 pm, as the crowd of violent rioters continued their efforts to breach the Tunnel and as the officers continued to attempt to maintain the police line and were fending off ongoing assaults by the rioters, McDorman approached the Tunnel and stood near the entrance. A rioter farther in the crowd threw what appeared to be a bottled beverage towards the line of officers. The object landed on the ground and did not appear to hit the officers. McDorman then proceeded to immediately pick up the object and allegedly threw it directly at the officers.

       

Court documents say that McDorman allegedly threw multiple objects at law enforcement in the Tunnel, including what appeared to be a short silver pipe and a separate long brown metal pipe. McDorman then picked up a wooden flagpole and used it to allegedly strike officers repeatedly. McDorman then helped pass other items to other rioters, including a metal object and a desk drawer.  

 

At approximately 4:15 pm, multiple law enforcement agencies began to clear the area of the Upper West Terrace free from rioters and made their way to the Lower West Terrace. Court documents say that McDorman picked up what appeared to be a blue-colored folding lawn chair in a storage bag and threw the chair toward police, striking one officer. At approximately 5:13 pm, McDorman can be seen in open-source video footage approaching the police line, holding a metal bike-rack-like police barrier with both hands and hurling it at the police line.  Sometime later, McDorman is seen again throwing an unidentified metal object, approximately 2-3 feet long, at the police line, which struck the shield of an MPD officer.

1432. Tyler Campanella: The latest addition to our list makes headlines not for his violent role on January 6, but for the simple fact, he’s the stepson of Siggy Flicker, a “Real Housewives” star. 

If you’re like me, and wouldn’t watch the series by that name, trust me when I say Campanella is facing five misdemeanor charges for his alleged role in the effort to snap the neck of democracy with a rope. 

Starting with Mike Pence. 

Siggy herself is just another one of those dopes who believed Trump’s lies about a “Stolen Election,” and posted on social media, as her son took part in the attack, “We love patriots so much. Stay safe Tyler. We love you.” And then we had the obligatory emojis, including four American flags. 

In fact, she posted pictures of Tyler inside the Capitol during the riot. Nice work Stepmom from Hell. 

Tyler showed up for the assault on Congress in regulation Trump regalia, and added a QAnon flag as a cape.

Get that rioter a live porcupine! 

1433. Joshua Lee Atwood: If Campanella (#1432) was only stupid, Atwood was far worse. During some of the worst fighting on January 6, he started throwing objects at police – basically, anything that came to hand. If he had been able to pick up a dead porcupine or live skunk, he would have hurled them at the cops. 

Definitely not one of those rioters, former President Trump says were “hugging and kissing” police on the day of the attack. 

In fact, Atwood appears to have been a threat to police – and other Americans – for more than a few years. A ten-year-old mugshot was used to help identify him as one of the rioters, because of a scar that showed above his left eye. In 2023 he made the police blotter again when he robbed the Crazy Donkey Restaurant in West Virginia and stabbed a man in the arm on his way out. 

As NBC reports, he was an active participant in the attack on democracy on January 6: 

Videos compiled by open-source investigators and cited by the FBI show “multiple instances” of Atwood “attacking law enforcement officers defending the Tunnel between approximately 4:51 p.m. and 5:03 p.m.,” the bureau said. He appears to have thrown a bottle that struck an officer, a long silver pole that struck an officer, a small square object, and another small object that appeared to be a bottle, according to the FBI. He also used a long wooden pole to “strike multiple officers using a stabbing motion with a significant amount of force” before he threw that pole, used a stolen police shield to strike another officer’s shield and threw a metal pipe, the bureau said.

 

Then, to finish up, he hit the police defending the Capitol with a few fresh f-bombs, and accused them of betraying their county, because they wouldn’t let the mob stop Congress from counting the electoral votes. 

In September 2024, he pleads guilty again – this time to assault on an officer, with a deadly weapon. 

UPDATE (July 3, 2025): Atwood is sentenced to spend at least six months in jail for the stabbing incident at the Crazy Donkey. The man he stabbed, we learn, was the owner of the restaurant. 

In a plea deal he agrees to take a conviction on a charge of “unlawful assault,” a lesser felony than “armed robbery.”

1434. Nathaniel Noyce: Another arrest. Another January 6 rioter who allegedly assaulted police on that bleak day for the country. By 3:15 p.m. that day, Noyce had allegedly made it inside the Capitol, and had been present as police began to force rioters back out. Noyce refused to leave – and is said to have recorded some of his own actions that day. 

A Department of Justice memo explains:

 

Over the next few minutes, video footage showed that Noyce became increasingly physical with officers as he moved around the mob in the East Foyer, recording his actions. In one instance, Noyce is seen wrapping his arm around an officer at approximately 3:23 p.m. A few seconds later, he confronted a law enforcement officer and forcibly removed the officer’s protective visor. Noyce then struck the officer in his face with his right hand while holding his mobile phone. 

 

In response, a scuffle occurred between Noyce and the officer. Another rioter immediately attempted to diffuse this incident, and Noyce retreated to the mob.

 

Noyce remained near the U.S. Capitol and on U.S. Capitol grounds for several hours after he departed the building via the East Doors. Noyce was later seen in open-source video footage appearing with rioters near the west side of the U.S. Capitol after officers physically removed rioters from the Capitol grounds after dark.

 

You might also say that Noyce’s behavior after he was driven out of the building helps negate the idiotic claim that these people were tricked into rioting. For several hours, Noyce could be seen lingering on Capitol Hill grounds – perhaps reliving the thrill of doing his part in an attempt to overturn the results of a fair election. No one is holding him there. He still has two feet. 

He could have walked away. 

UPDATE (7/12/26): The blogger later finds that Mr. Noyce is and was a member of the neo-Nazi group, Patriot Front. In 2024, for example, he and some of his hating pals defaced a Richmond, Va. mural honoring tennis star Arthur Ashe.

1435. Carson Lionell Rees: The young man from Virginia was apparently turned in by someone who served with him in the National Guard. 

Also, if your plan is to attack Congress – don’t post about it on Facebook, just minutes before you do you own part, as Rees did at 2:40 p.m. on January 6, saying, “We’re going in.” Then later live-streaming and saying, “We’re in.” 

I think he should have posted next, “We’re in and we’re a bunch of numbskulls.” 

When interviewed by F.B.I. agents at work, prior to his arrest, Rees admitted he was inside, but said he was exercising his First Amendment rights. Other Facebook posts showed that Rees had been teargassed by police. At least one friend replied to a post by Rees, pledging 100% support, and calling him an “American patriot.” While inside the Capitol, the defendant dropped a few F-bombs on police, flipped them off, in case they missed his point – but did exit shortly after a group of rioters with whom he was standing began assaulting police.

1436. ROBERT STEVEN DOWELL: Mr. Dowell appears to have had fun marching around inside the Capitol and chanting, “Our house,” and other rioters’ favorites. He is then seen joining a large group that forces a way past a line of officers trying to bar the hallway that led toward the House chamber. 

He was approaching the area where Ashli Babbitt was shot, when police reinforcements began to drive the rioters out of the building again. 

Dowell was forced out at around 3 p.m., but twenty minutes later, tried to enter again, as police were still forcing large numbers of rioters out, clogging the entry.

1439. MATTHEW MATULICH: Let’s go losing with another one of Trump’s misguided fans. Mr. Matulich has already lost his job, after he took unauthorized leave from work to go to the January 6 riot. 

For extra dopey fun, his phone records indicate he was probably inside the Capitol in two separate incidents – and his phone bill is registered under the account name Qonspiracy Theory. 

He and a like-minded Trump fan (not charged) drove all the way up from Louisiana, and evidence placed Matthew inside the building by 2:15 p.m. And, that bum! Not long after, he took possession of an orange box of chocolate cupcakes – and probably ate them too. 

A rioter gets hungry, after all. 

Matulich is also accused of swiping an American flag and flagpole (value: $145), from inside the Capitol, was one of the rioters who made it all the way into the U.S. Senate Chamber that day. 

He has pleaded guilty to a charge of theft. And what does he win? Ninety days in jail, probation, community service, and a $500 fine.

1440. DANIEL DEPAPE: I added DePape to the list, not because he rioted on January 6, but because he also fell for the “Stolen Election” lies spread to every corner of the land by Donald J. Trump. DePape is the nutjob gentleman who broke into the home of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with plans to kidnap and interrogate her, and “break her kneecaps” if she refused to talk. 

Instead, he ended up hitting her 82-year-old husband in the head with a hammer three times, and fracturing his skull. 

His lawyer said at trial that DePape had listened to too much right-wing “news” on YouTube. 

He’s going to have to ask the other prisoners what channel they want to see – because he has been sentenced to thirty years behind bars. He won’t be voting for Trump in 2024, that’s for sure.

Arizona Fake Electors, et. al.: Arizona has indicted 18 individuals, including Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, Dr. John Eastman, and former and current Trump advisor Boris Epshteyn as members of a conspiracy to steal that state’s electoral votes in 2020. Eastman, Giuliani and Meadows have already appeared on our list. So has Jenna Ellis. Mike Roman is new. So is Christina Bobb, ironically, current senior counsel for the Republican National Committee’s election integrity unit. (It’s like putting Jeffrey Dahmer in charge of school lunch programs.) 

Right-wing news is already shouting “lawfare” (warfare carried out in the courts). We should point out that Doug Ducey, then-governor of Arizona (a Republican), repeatedly stated that the 2020 vote in his state was fair. 

And Biden won.

1454. LAURA PELLEGRINO is the first of the Arizona fakes to plead guilty and throw herself on the mercy of the courts. Nine felony counts are waived, and she is sentenced to serve probation and perform community service – one suspects because she has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors. 

 

FUN FACT: Giuliani tried to dodge his subpoena as long as he could, and even mocked Arizona authorities. So they located him at an early birthday party, held in his “honor” in Florida and served him with something other than ice cream.

1455. MATTHEW KOHLER: No relation to the Kohler family, of plumbing fixture fame. Matthew traveled all the way from California to D.C. to get in on the action on January 6. He was, in fact, Johnny on the spot, entering the Capitol Building just ten minutes after rioters broke out windows and prized open doors. 

He had fun chanting those MAGA staples, “Stop the Steal,” and “Whose House? Our House.” He roamed a bit, took pictures, and posed himself. He had on a Trump hooded jacket, Trump stocking cap, and a flag draped around his neck like a cape. Around 2:41 p.m., he can be seen running toward the House Chamber, as excitement builds, and rioters try to smash the door. 

Guns are drawn on the other side of the Chamber doors, however, and Kohler and others wisely retreat. Ten minutes later his tour of the halls of Congress comes to an end and he’s out the front door. 

His grand excursion costs him three years on probation, and fines and restitution in the sum of $5,500.

1456. WILLIAM IRVIN FULLER: It’s quite amazing how much effort the “Antifa” folks put into dressing up like MAGA folks, carrying signs, and flags, and wearing MAGA gear, including (we suspect) MAGA undies. 

I mean: There were thousands of these dopes, including Mr. Fuller. He carried a sign that read: “Thank you! President Trump/We love you.” Also, he told federal authorities that he drove to D.C., just to hear his beloved president speak. Plus, he palled around all day with Samuel Christopher Fox, Rioter #665 on our list.

Like so many others that day, Fuller was “let in” by police – as in, he climbed through a broken window on entering the Capitol. He was inside for only about a minute, before he exited. 

He had since pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors. His sentence includes probation, 60 days of location monitoring, and a $500 fine.

1457-1458. Kevin and Carol Moore: They came on January 6, they rioted (a little), got inside the Capitol for eight minutes or so, yelled at police (at least Kevin did) and got arrested, in May 2024, and charged with a pair of misdemeanors each. 

It’s not likely the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority worker or his wife will end up seated on cots in a jail cell; they’ll probably get probation and a fine, and can brag about how stupid they were to believe the president’s election-denying lies. 

Their lawyer says they were in D.C. that day to express their “genuine concerns about the integrity of the 2020 presidential election.”

1459. Matthew Titus Allen: Mr. Allen carried his work cellphone with him during the riot, as well as a Go-Pro camera to film festivities. He has admitted that he and his wife, Shawla (not charged), traveled from Okfuskee County, Oklahoma to be in D.C. to hear Trump speak. The couple traveled “under their own direction,” Mr. Allen has confirmed, to “support” then-President Trump at his rally. 

He has admitted being inside the building – stands accused only of misdemeanor charges – and his journey through the courts is likely to end with probation. Sadly, when we check on May 26, 2024, there is STILL no evidence, shown in any court in the land, not state, not federal, not even “Divorce Court,” that indicates in any way, shape or form that Donald Trump didn’t lose the 2020 election. 

So, Donald is still lying, and 1,300 days later, insisting he won. Millions of dopey MAGA fans are still so ill-informed as to believe him.

1460. Gerald Powell: Mr. Powell is accused of not being let into the Capitol by police. Rather, he is accused of dragging away at least five bike rack barricades. He was one of the first twenty rioters to break through police lines, later entered the building and used a bullhorn to exhort the mob. 

Almost as if he came prepared for a riot. Like just about everyone else on this long, goddam list. 

At one point he could be heard shouting, “We have, the people, have exercised our voices and got into the Capitol building, to let our elected representatives know that we will not tolerate the fraud!” 

He now faces felony charges.

1461. Lincoln Deming: Mr. Deming was first approached in August 2022, by an agent for the F.B.I. about his participation in the riot. After five minutes, he said he would like to consult with an attorney. 

Evidence appears to put Deming on Capitol grounds by no later than 1:38 p.m., on January 6, where he came prepared like any other tourist – wearing a gas mask. Deming is allegedly seen pulling forcefully on bike rack barricades, falling at one point, then rising to give police the finger. He can be seen later, throwing some sort of object at police; and not long after appears to catch a face full of chemicals in the schnozz.   

He recovered – can be seen (allegedly) entering the building at 2:24 p.m., where he roams about, tries to open several locked doors, takes pictures, appears to show pictures to other rioters, appears intent on stealing a megaphone, which he places in a duffel bag, but then fails to return for the bag. He’s out of the building, probably no wiser, a little before 3:00 p.m.

1462. Darrell Wayne Goins: Like all the other harmless tourists, described in right-wing news, and by former President Trump, it appears Mr. Goins, came from Alabama, and decided to throw a large beverage container or bottle at a police officer, narrowly missing hitting him in the head. 

At another point, Goins is said to have rushed up a flight of steps, only to be engaged with and halted by three police officers, where they “wrestled him to the ground.”

 

When rest of the mob advanced to the top landing of the stairs, GOINS returned to his feet and remained directly in front of the police line. At some point in the subsequent minutes, GOINS obtained a USCP officer’s riot shield. Video shows GOINS holding the riot shield while standing in front of the police line. After an officer kicked at the shield, GOINS can be seen handing the shield to another rioter at the front of the mob. Shortly thereafter, GOINS can be seen facing the mob and yelling, “they’re doing what we’re doing . . . they’re fighting for their families,” apparently in reference to the police. He later added, “we’re fighting each other.”

 

Police were driven back soon after, and at 2:14, Goins was among the first rioters to enter the Capitol. In all, he remained inside for only sixteen minutes – but he wasn’t fighting for his family, in reality. 

He was fighting for Donald Trump’s lies. 

He now faces six felony charges, with a sprinkling of misdemeanors added, for good measure.

1463. Christine Barrello: Thirty minutes inside the Capitol on January 6, and what do you get? Arrested for being a fool. She has admitted she was in D.C. that day. Her cellphone records also placed her inside the building. 

And she came all the way from Las Vegas, just to get busted, and then go on to plead guilty to misdemeanors charges. She did have that little rush of adrenaline, climbing through a broken window at 2:23 p.m. that day, only minutes after the mob battered a way into the building. 

She was relatively easy to spot as she moved through the Capitol, since she wore a kind of red-and-white striped poncho. She was inside for about half an hour, but does not appear to have punched any cops or damaged any property. 

So, yay, Christine!

Christina Kelso: If you really wanted to believe that the rioters on January 6 were led on by government plants, or that they were all Antifa types dressed in Trump sheep’s clothing, you would have to ignore a Mt. Everest-sized pile of facts. Ms. Kelso is typical of the type of person who showed up on that deadly day, only more extremist than others. According to charging documents in her case, Kelso was a member of a Telegram social media group, “The California Patriots – DC Brigade.” 

What was the group “about?” Their purpose was clearly stated enough, so that even a MAGA could grasp the truth: “This group will serve as the Comms for able bodied individuals that are going to DC on Jan 6. Many of us have not met before and we are all ready and willing to be engaged in this fight. We will come together for this moment that we are all called upon.” 

Among her skills and attributes, Kelso described herself as a “devout Christian,” a former “Girl Scout,” “trained in self-defense,” and added, “Special skills: knife throwing but also Peace Pilgrim.” In an interview in March 2021, Ms. Kelso admitted she rented a car and drove across country to be in D.C., but was denied her first hotel reservation because she refused to wear a mask. She also admitted she got pepper sprayed, but denied going inside the building. 

Really, mask mandates made her mad – but fortunately not mad enough to practice her knife-throwing skills.” 

Kelso also attended a rally the day before the riot, where leaders of the Brigade, “R.T.” and “A.H.” riled up the MAGA folk.

 

At that event, A. H. addressed the crowd regarding the 2020 election and the certification proceeding that would take place in Congress the next day. A.H. said, “That’s who beat Donald Trump. Dominion and all the fakes and frauds, led by these vipers behind you in the people’s house. They’re gonna hear our voice tomorrow. They’re gonna hear us loud and clear. We are at war in this country! We are at war.” He continued, “Our voices tomorrow are going to put the fear of God in the cowards and the traitors, the RINOs and the communists of the Democratic Party. They need to know we as a people, 100 million strong, are coming for them if they do the wrong thing!” A.H. concluded, “I will see you all tomorrow at the front lines. We are taking our country back!” R.T. also addressed the crowd. R.T. stated, “in these streets, we will fight and we will bleed,” and “we will not return to our peaceful way of life until this election is made right.”

 

On January 6, itself, Kelso tells a questioner she won’t accept a Biden win. She adds, “if we’re gonna die anyway, I’ll die for my freedom, 100%.” Later, it is alleged that she joined the attack on police lines and got pepper sprayed multiple times. Kelso soon fell to the ground, still clutching a bike rack barricade, and repeatedly refused medical attention from police. She later wrote that she couldn’t see for about 20 or 30 minutes, but she was ready to fight again. “Peaceful, pissed off Patriots. Are we thinking inauguration?” she wondered. She went on to add she made some good friends during her trip to D.C., adding, “I did nothing wrong so I’m not afraid.” 

P.S. Trump lost by 7,000,000 votes, Ms. Kelso; and no court has found evidence to the contrary since. You got pepper-sprayed because you were stupid enough to believe Donald’s lies.

1465. Peter Malone: Mr. Malone was johnny on the spot on January 6, entering the Capitol within two minutes of the initial breach. The Cleveland Heights, Ohio gentleman was arrested on May 8, 2024.

1466-1467. Kathryn McEvoy and Jesse Evans: The two childhood friends face four misdemeanor counts each, after being arrested in May 2024, and charged with their minor roles in the Capitol Hill Riot. McEvoy has already acknowledged that she and Evans entered the building during the attack. 

As Jordan Fischer, who has done such great work following all the rioters and their cases, explains:

 

Evans reportedly told the FBI he and McEvoy, his childhood friend, had attended the Stop the Steal rally on Jan. 6 because he believed his presence would “bolster the numbers of concerned citizens and force Congress to take a further look at the election.” Evans said he and McEvoy had listened to a portion of former President Donald Trump’s speech before heading to the Capitol, where they saw a group “getting rough and rowdy with the police.” Evans said he and McEvoy also saw barricades knocked down and that he was exposed to a chemical irritant deployed by police before deciding to enter the Capitol.

 

McEvoy also claimed she believed police had cleared senators from the Capitol, so the protesters could walk around the building – and said she felt she had done nothing wrong. Still, she has now pleaded guilty to a pair of misdemeanors.

1468-1470. William, Thomas, and James Gallagher: Dad, William, and the boys, decided a family outing to D.C. might be cool. So they were there on January 6, allegedly, in time to join the attack on democracy. Pops was especially active, grabbing one police officer who was trying to block a doorway, out of the way, allowing other members of the mob to enter the Capitol. 

According to charging documents, he “appeared to apologize to the officer” afterwards. 

Dad was inside the building for three quarters of an hour, his two sons entering later, after dad and other rioters opened a way. William faces a number of charges, including at least one felony. The sons are up on misdemeanors. Dad was identified soon after the riot; but when originally approached by F.B.I. agents, shut down any interview and asked for an attorney. When finally arrested on May 6, 2024, he greeted agents at the door, saying, “I’ve been waiting for you guys.” Both boys were sprayed with chemical irritants at least once on that infamous day.

1471-1472. John Barry Chisholm and Michael Anderson: On the day of the attack, Mr. Chisholm and a friend discussed the role Vice President Pence might play. When his friend said the time for Pence to prove a “coward” hadn’t even happened yet, Chisholm responded, “we in the Capital You need people like us.” 

Chisholm also insisted that Pence could send the election “back to the states.” The two dopey pals both wore sweatshirts to the riot, with large white lettering, “864,” the area code where they live in South Carolina. Anderson was being represented by a public defender (your tax dollars hard at work), whereas Chisholm had hired his own attorney, who says, “Unfortunately, [my client] went into the Capitol for approximately three minutes. He looked around and didn’t like what he saw, and he left. He certainly caused no harm or damage to any person or property.” 

As for who carried out the attack, when a friend on social media told Chisholm, “Antifa stole the show,” he responded, “No we took the capital.”

1473. Miguel Zapata: Well, this is an odd one. Zapata, described as a former federal employee, has been arrested for providing false tips about former colleagues, who he claimed were involved in the January 6 riot. 

He submitted seven false claims, causing much waste of time and resources, only to show that the seven individuals named were: 

Not in Washington D.C. on January 6 

Were at work elsewhere on that day. 

Cue the QAnon conspiracy theories – that Zapata knew the truth – that really the rioters were alien lizard people. Whatever.

1474. David A. Marshall, Jr.: What “touristy” kind of person doesn’t come to the Capitol during a riot, supplied with zip ties? Not Mr. Marshall, who is alleged to have assaulted a journalist, swiped a police baton, and zip-tied a door to keep police from exiting to confront the attackers outside the building. He is also accused of engaging in “multiple assaults on law enforcement officers.” 

At least one officer was knocked to the ground. 

Marshall also grabbed a member of the news media and yanked that individual “down a set of stairs.” 

So: Give Mr. Marshall two felony and seven misdemeanor charges, and see how he fares in court.

1475. Benjamin Bowden: Bowden has been identified as a participant in the January 6 attack on democracy – including by another participant in said attack. His credit card charges also show him driving to D.C. in time to riot, and then driving home to Maine. 

He enters the Capitol at 2:17 p.m., as a loud siren is blaring, and can be seen later, giving a violent kick to a locked door. In fact, that was so much fun, he picked up a brass stanchion and pounded on the door to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office. Not long after he got a good sniff of chemicals and had to rinse out his eyes, finally exiting the building at 2:57 p.m. 

He has pleaded guilty.

1476. Michael Hennessey: The latest addition to our list is another right-winger, described as a “social influencer” with 211,000 followers on Instagram. 

His account is called “Snowflake News.” 

Now he’s an accused felon, allegedly having entered the Capitol at 2:15 p.m., only moments after the building was breached. Once inside, he joined a push against a line of police trying to bar the attackers from going deeper into the building, during which one officer fell down a flight of steps.

1477. Clay Norris: According to the DOJ, the Canton, Ohio man played a role in three times breaching police barricade lines. With a megaphone in hand, at the first line of defense, Norris could be heard chanting, “Stop the steal!”, “Whose house?”, and “Fight for Trump.” 

“Get ready to storm the Capitol,” he shouted. 

Police formed a second line and corralled rioters in front of the Capitol; but Norris and others pushed into the bike rack barricade and broke through again. Now he shouted at police, “We don’t want you guys. We want them,” meaning members of Congress. 

And maybe Mike Pence. 

Norris was one of six men, organized by Pastor Dunfee, of Ohio, who wanted to stop the counting of the electoral votes. Norris could also be heard shouting at the people who were reluctant to attack, “Make a stand. Make a stand, while there is [s]till time to make a stand… How long are you going to be peaceful and selfish?” 

Norris then advanced, among the first rioters, to the steps of the Capitol itself. With megaphone still in hand, he shouted at officers again, “Send those m—f— out to talk to us,” and soon started pushing police. It does not appear, however, that he ever made it inside, as chemical agents were deployed, forcing Norris and other rioters to retreat. 

With Trump now reelected, and promising to treat these fools like heroes and pardon them, Norris recently pleaded guilty to assault. 

FUN FACT: Mr. Norris has a previous criminal record, including multiple convictions for theft.

1478. William George Knight: Knight is accused of pulling apart barriers designed to protect the Capitol and then ramming a metal-framed Trump sign into a line of police. With his dishwater blonde dreadlocks, he looks like the “Antifa” type. But he spent the day of the riot hanging with a group of Proud Boys. 

There’s no evidence he was a member of the group, however, but facial tattoos also made him easy to identify in the end. He was arrested in South Dakota on May 24, 2024.

1479. Thomas “Tommy” Joseph Kelly, Jr.: Well, the lesson for all future rioters who want to destroy the U.S. Constitution: Be careful what kind of running shoes your wife wears to a riot. Also, try to cover up any noticeable moles on your own mug. With the help of online sleuths, the F.B.I. believes Kelly can be shown to have involved himself in several attacks on police officers. 

Evidence seems to show that Mrs. Kelly bought a particular brand of running shoe on Amazon on November 22, 2020, then broke them in during the attack in D.C. Also purchased: The same kind of goggles that Mr. Kelly was wearing (allegedly) during the battle. Finally, the couple purchased a flag listed as “Trump Law & Order 2nd Amendment Guns Flag Trump Flag Make America Great Again” and then carried it during the January 6 mayhem. At one point, during fighting, as the mob drove police lines back, Thomas cheered, “They’re scared! They’re scared!” 

Just as President Trump later claimed: No threat at all. 

Mr. Kelly is then accused of using his flagpole to pummel at least one officer, during the wild fight for control of a lower tunnel entrance to the Capitol.

 

Inside the tunnel, the FBI said, Kelly “jabbed and thrust the pole directly into the police line” and hit an officer in the head. The officer he hit ended up with a cracked helmet, and was briefly knocked unconscious, the FBI said. “Even after he regained consciousness, Officer C.M. struggled to remain conscious,” the FBI affidavit stated. “Officer C.M. continued to experience symptoms from this blow to his head during the remainder of January 6, 2021, including symptoms such as vision loss and degraded consciousness.”

 

Kelly then handed the pole to another rioter who broke it while striking police officers, according to the bureau.

 

The missus does not appear to have been charged. As for Thomas, he was arrested, in part, after a picture on a wedding/engagement website appeared to match photos taken of him during the riot.

1480. Chad Hedgcock: In 2022, it appears Chad’s wife, Jessica, was arrested for refusing to wear a mask in a business establishment – which wanted to crush her freedom (we guess) by stopping the spread of COVID. 

Chad, meanwhile, had visited D.C. on January 6, and dabbled in rioting. When asked to speak to a federal agent around that same time, Mr. Hedgcock replied, “We don’t talk to cops.” 

The gentleman from Tennessee appears to have entered the Capitol, but then been pushed out by police five minutes later. 

The headline in a story about his wife read, “Mom arrested for no chin diaper, tyranny stops now.”

1481-1483. Leslie Bogue, Sally Ann Milavec and Trina Reyes: The three women traveled together to D.C., two from Texas, with Bogue joining them from Oklahoma. Bogue and Reyes are seen in photographs outside the Capitol on January 6, and appear to be enjoying themselves immensely, as the attack on democracy unfolds. 

After rioters already inside forced open a set of doors, the two women allegedly entered, just after 2:40 p.m. 

Bogue and Reyes are charged with entering the building, remaining inside for fifteen minutes, and exiting after Reyes says they saw other rioters “vandalizing paintings.” She also admits to authorities that she saw police firing tear gas, and got a whiff herself, before entering. 

She says they traveled to D.C. just to hear President Trump speak/lie about how he really won the 2020 election. 

(Reyes also turns out to be the former mayor of a suburb of San Antonio, Von Ormy. She appears to have ties to Republicans and Libertarians; and the government in Von Ormy descended into chaos while she was in charge – though only partially due to her mistakes. The police department, for example, lost accreditation, and the volunteer fire department went defunct.) 

Milavec, a real estate agent from Fredericksburg, Tx., has also been charged; but little other information about her is available. 

She is said to be the mother-in-law of Craig Jackson Moore – see below. We do know she has pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor.

1484. Larry John Lucas, Jr.: It would appear that Lucas had a grand time in D.C. on January 6. He can be seen attending the Trump rally, waving a Trumpian-style flag, and flashing the rock and roll hand signal. He has a Trump stocking camp stuck on his pate, too. 

He marches to the Capitol, on command (you might argue) and gets into the Capitol, allegedly for fourteen minutes and forty-eight seconds. He has his cellphone in hand; and data shows the phone inside the building; and pictures appear to place Lucas inside, for sure. At one point, he can be seen, along with a second Trump fan, standing on the pedestal of a Ronald Reagan statue, getting his photo snapped. He makes it as far as the Senate chamber, by then abandoned by lawmakers, appears to snap a few photos or record a video on his phone. 

And out he goes again at 2:50 p.m., a tiny cog in a giant machine, set in motion by Donald J. Trump, to try to garner a second term in office he by no means deserved.

1485. Francis Joseph Vitollo: Mr. Vitollo appeared on the F.B.I.’s radar in early 2022, but when interviewed, denied he had ever entered the Capitol. Evidence appeared to show otherwise, and he soon admitted he had. 

A search warrant placed his phone inside; and another rioter, William Tryon (#846 on our list), admitted he, Vitollo, and two other men traveled to D.C. together to hear Donald Trump speak. 

Vitollo does not appear to have engaged in any violence. He was merely stupid enough to believe Trump’s lies.

1486. Craig Jackson Moore: No real information available at this time. Arrested on May 14. 

Has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors.

1487. RANDOLPH TYSON MILLINER: No real information available at this time. Other than: Arrested May 15. He had pleaded guilty to a pair of misdemeanors. His punishment: two years on probation, and $1,000.

1488. Antonio Colello: Mr. Colello can be seen casually entering the Capitol on January 6, wearing a tan coat and sunglasses, and carrying his phone as if to immortalize his grand entrance. He’s inside around 2:35 p.m. Soon after, he is seen pushing with others in the mob, against a line of police. 

The man in front of him is wearing an Oath Keepers backpack. You know. The “Antifa” type. 

Colello exits the building around 2:51. 

And why was he in D.C.? In a social media post, he and another individual talk about blocking “the session of congress.” Colello responds, “That sounds epic[.]”

1489. Brandon Barnhill: The Slidell, Louisiana man allegedly entered the Capitol at 2:45 p.m., and was out again roughly eight minutes later. He came to D.C. to hear the president speak. He told investigators it “was calm when he first arrived at the Capitol, until it wasn’t,” inside the building on that fateful day. 

He faces misdemeanor charges.

1490. Nathan Erik Breese: Breese has admitted he went to D.C. to attend the “Stop the Steal” rally, and later went inside the Capitol. The Trump fan was in and out of the building in two minutes.

1491. Patricia Marie Wills: Normally, Wills works for the F.B.I., out of the Washington office. She even has (or had) a Department of Defense secret security clearance. Now we know, wearing a pink jacket and purple headband, she was easy to spot in the crowd that ransacked the Capitol. She is seen entering at 2:26 p.m., appears to roam around, and exits at 2:44. She’s carrying a flag most of the time. 

On the second anniversary of the riot, she posted on social media, a picture of the crowd, noting, “Still the best last minute trip I’ve ever made. God put it in my heart I HAD to go. Don’t know the reason, but I had to be there. Witness. Pray for the J6 jailed.” 

She has now pleaded guilty, although she’ll probably get a pardon, now that Donald Dumpling has won a second term; and she’ll almost surely be too dumb to realize that suddenly, all the election deniers have gone mum.

1492. JOHN DINE: Mr. Dine had already pleaded guilty to two minor charges – before he even landed on our radar. He has since been placed on probation for a year and levied $1,000 in fines and restitution.

1493. Tricia LeCount: The woman from Afton, Oklahoma has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor offense, after entering the Capitol Building on January 6, tastefully draped in a Trump flag, tied around her like a cape. 

Bummer: She was turned in by a Facebook friend, just two days after the riot. A neighbor later helped build a case against LeCount, telling F.B.I. agents that he or she had talked to Tricia almost daily, and she had made it clear she would be heading to D.C. to support Donald Trump. 

It didn’t help the defendant’ defense to know that she responded to a question, on social media, asking her on the day of the riot, if she got inside the building. 

“Absolutely,” the clueless Ms. LeCount responded. In fact, she sent a video showing that she had reached Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s office. In the same conversation thread, she added, “Pelosi’s office is so gaudy.... massive chandelier, beautiful fireplace… MSNBC live was on every laptop.”

1494. Jason Tasker: Recently indicted, Mr. Tasker is accused of assaulting police officers on January 6. 

And how did Tasker end up on this list. His mother couldn’t resist showing friends, in the weeks after the Capitol attack, videos her boy took inside the building. In fact, mom bought Jason his round trip ticket to D.C., and he later told a friend it was his “Christmas present.” 

At one point, on that fateful day, Tasker and other rioters surrounded a group of police, and Tasker shouted, “All of you are dismissed, go home.” Later, he was at the forefront, as rioters tried to force their way into the Capitol, allegedly lunging at and grabbing officers barring the way. Soon after, Mr. Tasker got a face full of pepper spray, as police absolutely didn’t “usher” rioters in – as former President Donnie just recently claimed. In fact, Tasker retreated, but managed to enter the Capitol at 3:02 p.m., film events, and then exit again at 3:13. Outside, he call his mother, telling her, proudly, “I was like the first person in, Momma.” 

The defendant remained outside for another hour, and at one point, after Trump called for rioters to go home, he approached police guarding the Capitol, and exclaimed, “fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, you’re cool, fuck you, I’m out.” (In the footnotes to his indictment, we learn that this is a direct quote from the movie, Half Baked, starring Dave Chapelle.) At 5:20 p.m., Tasker was still on Capitol Hill grounds, still flipping off police, and finally leaving the area around that time. 

He faces a variety of charges, both felonies and misdemeanors. 

(At the time he was charged for his part in the riot, Tasker was already in prison, serving a seven-and-a-half year sentence for a DUI conviction regarding an accident that ended up with another driver losing her left leg to amputation.)

1495. Michael Keith Williams: The Texas man has been charged for his part in the riot. He allegedly yelled to others in the mob that day, “Freedom!” “This is our house!” “We’re doing this for God.” and “We’re doing this for Trump.” He accessorized for the riot by bringing along a flag showing President Trump as Rambo, and made it all the way to the U.S. Senate Chamber before police could regain control. 

At one point, he also stood just outside a door that Vice President Pence used that day to escape the rioters.

1496. Paul Marvin Nowell: The North Carolina defendant, in another January 6 riot case, told police that day, “You’re not Americans.” 

You know – blocking entry to the Capitol – and trying to protect a core function of democracy – counting of the electoral votes.

1497. Garth Walton: Once again, Florida is represented, allegedly, in terms of violent, rioting fools, by Mr. Walton. He stands accused of assaulting police. 

A memo from the Department of Justice explains:

 

According to court documents, police body-worn camera footage from Jan. 6, 2021, shows Walton was present on Capitol grounds on the Lower West Plaza that day. At about 1:30 p.m., law enforcement officers had formed a defensive line on the plaza and had nearly completed a line of metal barricades at the top of the West Plaza stairs.

 

It is alleged that Walton went up approximately four steps, approached the line of officers, and grabbed a metal barricade and pushed it into the officers. Seconds later, after retreating down the West Plaza stairs, Walton again charged the police line and pushed the metal barricade into officers. It is further alleged that Walton then picked up a white pole and threw it at the officers.

1498. BRIAN LEO KELLY: The Fairfax, Virginia contractor did not have far to travel to join the riot. He can be seen inside the Capitol and faced four misdemeanor charges for his cameo role in the film, “Killing Democracy.” He is reportedly owner of Affordable Oil Tank Removal – if you need a tank removed. Cheap! He is said to have been inside the Capitol for a little more than half an hour but is not charged with any violent or destructive activity. 

On the night of the attack, Kelly appeared in a video on an Internet service emphasizing traditional Judeo-Christian principles. According to court records, Kelly is clear. He made his way inside the building – but did try to be respectful of police officers (who were otherwise being battered by rioters). 

Upon being asked how he felt about what happened that day, KELLY stated that he felt “conflicted,” as “… you violate someone else’s space … force your way into a building … in some ways that really feels wrong … but, … that [space] really does belong to us.” KELLY continued, “… that should only be an absolute last resort … maybe we shouldn’t have done that … it’s just, you come to the end of your rope … and you get swept up in a movement … and there’s a bunch of people running and doing this … it’s not the logical mind that’s working anymore … you’re just reacting to things and, finally, there’s a chance that you can be heard … we took that chance … God will judge us … perhaps I did something wrong … I tried to be as respectful as I could while I was in there, you know, while still saying what I felt needed to be said.”

 

Five days after the riot, Kelly told a reporter, “I understand there could be consequences for what happened and I will accept those and deal with them.” 

He has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges, and awaits sentencing on January 10, 2025, just ten days before Trump resumes office. 

Just days before Donald Dumpling takes office again, Mr. Kelly is sentenced to 10 days in jail, two years on probation, and fined $500.

1499. Matthew J. Mglej: Mr. Mglej has been arrested before. In Portland, Oregon, in 2014, he was busted for playing the violin in the park – while naked. When officers suggested he don clothing, he refused. 

Two years later, a naked Mr. Mglej got arrested outside a courthouse – this time with a concealed rifle hidden under a pile of  clothes. 

Now, we know. He allegedly dressed up on January 6, joined in the riotous festivities, and got busted again. 

When first approached by authorities, asking for information regarding his whereabouts on January 6, Mglej had the nerve to insist they submit all their questions in writing.

Rioter in spats. 

1500. Tristan Sartor: The fashion forward Mr. Sartor, who favors straw hats, and spats, gets arrested – partly because rioters wearing spats were rare and stood out in a crowd like a person wearing spats. 

Sartor is known to hang with white supremacists like Nick Fuentes, to post racist comments, and posed for a selfie with Roger Stone. 

He’s not one of “ours,” on the Biden/Harris side of the political spectrum. He was facing both felony and misdemeanor charges for his part in the January 6 debacle. He was nailed on July 31, 2024, and posted $25,000 bond. 

Prosecutors say that he entered the U.S. Capitol at 2:19 p.m. and exited a few minutes later. 

He has since pleaded guilty.

1501. Catholine DeVries: It didn’t take long for authorities to pinpoint Ms. DeVries as one of the rioters (she was turned in just four days after the attack by someone “with a personal relationship”). She was interviewed by F.B.I. agents soon after, and admitted she was inside Nancy Pelosi’s office that awful day. She admitted, also, that she saw other rioters “assault law enforcement officers.” 

She insisted, however, that she was pushed into the building by others, that she was only inside the Capitol for ten minutes, that she only filmed one video, and if there was any destruction – which she said she didn’t see – “it was not from supporters of President Trump.” She could be identified in the mob, in part, because she was wearing a white “Team Trump” cowboy hat. 

Alas, evidence appears to show the defendant entering the building of her own volition, at 2:17 p.m., cellphone in hand, apparently filming her escapades. By 2:32 she appears to be just outside Pelosi’s suite, and soon after she appears to be inside, filming more of the action. 

At 2:46, still inside the Capitol, she takes (allegedly) a shot of chemical spray in the schnozzle. 

Seven minutes later, she exits the building. Outside, she appears to film other rioters as they smash reporters’ camera equipment. 

Arrested only in July 2024, she now faces charges.

1502. TIMOTHY TEDESCO: The moral of this story is, if you plan to riot in Washington D.C., don’t wear a jacket that identifies the company you work for. Mr. Tedesco did, and it did not bode well. “Oxy Chem,” a patch on the jacket he wore on January 6 read, or Occidental Petroleum.” 

Tedesco could be seen entering the Capitol around 2:42 p.m., his large red Trump flag, with white letters, perched on his right shoulder. 

When first interviewed by federal agents, outside his home, Tedesco admitted he had been at the Capitol – and that he was carrying a Texas flag. He asked the agents if they were going to investigate the shooting of Ashli Babbitt, and the “stolen election,” and then refused to talk further. 

He was, in fact, inside the Capitol for only 13 minutes. So his punishment is a surprise – although he did watch other rioters shatter several windows. That is: 90 days of location monitoring, $500 in restitution, and a fine of $10,000.

Michele Morrow: The ill-informed MAGA faithful may still cling to the fiction that the attackers on January 6 weren’t their people. But the evidence continues to make clear: That’s exactly who attacked the Capitol on January 6. 

Ms. Morrow is not charged in that attack – but she was there on that awful day; and she was clear about what she thought should happen. Since she believed (speaking of “ill-informed”) that Donald the Fat had triumphed in the 2020 election, she believed the president should “put the Constitution to the side.” If the police wouldn’t do it, and the Department of Justice wouldn’t – she believed the military should intervene, and keep Trump in power. 

You know: Kind of like a coup in Peru, or Chile, or some other failing South American democracy. 

She was also known for such brilliant ideas as executing Barack Obama, but making his death  a pay for view spectacle and – I think – using proceeds to pay down the federal deficit. 

As for the ultimate irony, Morrow is now running to be the Superintendent of Public Instruction, giving her authority over operation of North Carolina schools.

Michael Shapiro: Shapiro, 72, will be celebrating his next two birthdays in prison, after he was convicted of threatening to kill Democratic member of Congress, Rep. Eric Swalwell.

1503. Gregory Charles Peck, Jr.: Mr. Peck is just one of many rioters who brought chemical spray to D.C. on January 6, an allegedly used it to spray police officers right in the face. “Innocent until proven guilty,” as always. 

But. 

Mr. Peck’s phone records (sought in a search warrant) clearly show him inside and about the Capitol that day, from 3:06 p.m. until 5:44 p.m. Video and photographic evidence also appears to show him striking one police officer in the back or head with a flagpole, complete with Gadsden “Don’t treat on me,” flag. In addition, he is said to have joined the battle in front of the lower tunnel entrance, where he helped drag one officer into the crowd. 

Specifically, he stands accused:

 

Peck grabbed Officer B.M.’s jacket collar from behind and pulled, causing Officer B.M.’s head to jerk back. Peck continued to hold Officer B.M.’s collar and when Officer B.M. appeared to have trouble breathing, another rioter shouted, “Let him breathe!” Throughout the video, multiple rioters are heard saying, “He can’t breathe!” and “Let him go!”

 

Peck released Officer B.M. but then grabbed him again and continued to hold onto Officer B.M. as other rioters tried to push Peck away. The other rioters continued to push away Peck and other individuals from Officer B.M.—appearing to try and protect Officer B.M. Ultimately, a couple of rioters pull Officer B.M. through a door that appeared to lead to an accessibility elevator built into the inauguration stage.

 

Or: Exactly as President Trump, and now former President Trump/current 34-time felon, has NOT described events of the day. 

The alleged assailant’s motives for traveling to D.C. to hear Trump speak are not yet perfectly known. Let’s simply point out that he came all the way from Burke County, North Carolina to be there on January 6. 

That county went for Trump in 2020, by 70%. Also, he’s a middle-aged white male, kind of the Trump base.

1504. Daniel Collins: As early as April 2021, a tipster reached out to authorities, said he or she had known Collins for “a few months,” and said Collins had shown the tipster videos and other evidence that placed him inside the Capitol on January 6 (you wonder if he was bragging to a woman). 

One investigative step led to another – with (again) phone records appearing to validate the tip. Collins was on Capitol grounds that day. 

Then video and photographic evidence appeared to show him joining in an attack on a group of police, as described:

 

Open-source media captured DANIEL COLLINS on the restricted Northwest lawn of the Capitol grounds. At approximately 1:54 p.m., a Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Civil Disturbance Unit arrived on the North side of Capitol grounds in order to provide backup to the United States Capitol Police (USCP) who were protecting the West Plaza, located below the Inaugural Stage on the West side of the Capitol grounds. The MPD officers were fitted with Body Worn Cameras (BWC). To reach the USCP line, the MPD unit had to force their way through the hostile crowd, which included COLLINS, on the Northwest side of the grounds. As the MPD officers cut through the riot, they announced their presence and requested people move aside-a command that was largely ignored by the rioters. At approximately 2:00 p.m., rioters attacked the line of MPD officers. The officers regrouped and began to push forward where they were met with more resistance as the mob ignored commands to move. At approximately 2:02 p.m., officers began to push those refusing to move out of the way which caused the crowd to push back and attack officers. During this confrontation, COLLINS (yellow) grabbed Officer B.S. around the neck, nearly bringing the officer to the ground (Image 2).

 

Ironically, Collins is then said to take out his phone, to record some of the scene, and tells officers, “It’s a peaceful protest, what are you doing?” He can later be seen, still apparently recording on his phone, and easy to pick out in the mob, with his New York Yankees hat screwed to his head, as he enters. For some reason, Collins uses a flag he is carrying, once inside, to strike a chandelier. Later, he poses, arm around a statue of George Washington, and shouts, “1776, baby!” 

Later, he lights up a cigarette, films some more, and tries to help the crowd push back as officers work to clear the Rotunda. At that point he gets knocked down, and by 3:16 p.m. he is driven outside again. Later, he is said to be filmed, in front of a TV screen, saying, “I lived that shit.” And “I think I’m going to jail.” When contacted by authorities, the defendant later insisted that BLM protesters did much worse – and besides the 2020 election had been rigged. 

Now his prediction is likely to come true. He’ll be going to jail.

1505. Samuel Guizio: Not much is known yet about Mr. Guizio, save that he faces the usual four charges for rioters on January 6. He is not accused of any violent or destructive actions. His are the kind of crimes that usually lead to fines and probation. 

And here we should note: 

There’s still no court-proven evidence the 2020 election was stolen. 

In September 2024, however, Guizio pleads guilty to a pair of misdemeanors.

1506-1507. Kennedy Lindsey and Dianelle Lacy: It’s a long way from California to D.C., but the two women allegedly made the trip, after packing carefully in hopes of getting in on some of the fun. 

Trump said it was going to be “wild,” and, allegedly, the pair helped make that prediction come true. 

As court documents explain, Lacy and Lindsey, they traveled east in order: 

to attend the “Stop the Steal Rally” at the Ellipse.  Upon their arrival, the two attended the rally and later made their way toward the U.S. Capitol building. Court documents say that Lindsey recorded videos of the events that day with her cell phone, including one such video in which she exclaimed, “the Capitol building is being stormed as we speak. We’re on our way there. . . God Bless America m—f—, let's go.” 

The two were then seen in open-source video footage approaching the Capitol on a golf cart, while another rider encouraged the crowd to breach the building. 

Ms. Lindsey, in particular, is facing serious charges, as she was stopped by an officer later that day, carrying a “short sword” strapped to her leg. She also admitted, and a search revealed, that she was in possession of “a tactical whip, a collapsible baton, pepper spray, a butterfly knife, and a flashlight taser.”

 

FUN FACT: The golf cart they rode in was driven by the husband of Cindy Chafian, the woman who helped organize pro-Trump demonstrations in the Capitol on January 5-6, 2021.

1508. Eric Lee Peterson: In a picture he posted on Facebook, Mr. Peterson could be seen in a crowd at the Washington Monument, on January 6. 

Legal! 

Then on the steps of Congress. Still kind of legal. 

Then – standing out in his pink sweatshirt shirt – in a sea of Trump-themed dopes – inside the Capitol. 

Illegal. 

By the time he enters at 3:02 p.m., rioters have shattered windows to the main door to the Rotunda, and poured in, overwhelming police. But police have been reinforced and are driving the fools out. 

Peterson is gone five minutes later. 

When not bopping around the Capitol, the defendant owns a café in Kansas City, Missouri, and a retail business in Roseville, Michigan. He has pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor and awaits sentencing.

1509-1510. David Pracht and Kiera Pracht: David, from Surprise, Arizona, was arrested and charged with four crimes for his role in the January 6 riot. So, also, Kiera Pracht. Kiera and David are married, and she has a Facebook page, heavy on religion. 

Which is fine! Also, they have several children, and at least one grandson, (I think) and recently built a volcano for fun, and she’s probably a good wife and mom, and grandma and person. 

On August 4, however, two days before her arrest, she posted:

 

I’m often amazed by how blind people can be, then I realize if you don’t understand the amount of evil in the world and what it is capable of then you will not understand the “conspiracy theories”.

 

When you truly seek the truth, the truth will be revealed. Most people are only concerned with hopping on a bandwagon of their friends (for fear of what people will think)and for being RIGHT. That will NEVER lead to the truth. As a matter of fact, those vein traits will keep you blind to the truth. These things (truths-what is really going on)are beyond your comprehension. Not always a bad thing. For me, it was that I’m a very loving person who sees the best in everyone and could not wrap my brain around the amount of evil and what it is capable of. But I needed to know. The world started getting crazy and out of control and I wanted to protect my family and be standing on the side of righteousness. Because whether you know it or not, believe it or not, you could be standing on what YOU THINK is righteousness and all the while you’re promoting pure evil.

 

For 2 years during covid, I researched everything. I already knew something wasn’t right. I initially turned to the Internet, then sought history experts. Independent people who weren’t even talking about politics. Experts and influential people from outside of our country. Most importantly, I PRAYED. I asked God to reveal the TRUTH. I prayed for His wisdom, His discernment. When you call on Him, with the correct motive He will NEVER fail you!

 

I promise you this… if you seek the truth, truly seek to know the TRUTH, you will find it and once you find it, there is no turning back. Because once you see it, you cannot unsee it and then it all totally makes sense. As He says, “the truth will set you free”. (John 8:32).

 

Then she’s got pictures of herself, labeled “Proud to be an American,” and a picture of Donald Trump playing chess – with a golden queen piece, and a bunch of gray-white enemy pieces scattered around, knocked down, captioned, “CHECKMATE.” 

Donald is looking pretty smug. 

Okay, and another picture, touting “Trump 2020.” And another of Donald, labeled, “Best President Ever!!!” 

I check a little more – and she’s a Cubs fan, which has to be hard. I also noticed a comment where she says her husband David used to believe conspiracy theories – and she told him to put on his “tinfoil hat.” Now she has learned the truth, and she has apologized to him. 

Then several of her Facebook friends commend her for knowing the truth. Me? I’m dead certain she’s wrong about Trump; but she clearly means well, posting pictures of her nicely decorated home, and even a joke about donating her body to science – but science donates it to Goodwill.

1511. Andrew Kade Starling: Mr. Starling is a burly, bearded fellow, 27 years old (at the time of his recent arrest). In the Statement of Facts, related to his case, Starling’s Twitter comments, in the wake of the attack seem clear. 

He was there.

 

The Twitter post by “Andrew S. @DrewFire 01” set out the following statement in quote marks: “Violent domestic terrorists screamed “you serve us” in the capitol building and burned down nothing and hurt no one” (quote marks in original). The post continued in the first person, “I was there. A few windows and doors were broken…that was as violent as it got. No bullets fired except from the police. No bullets from our side.” (ellipses in original)

 

Starling can be seen (allegedly) entering the Capitol at 2:49 p.m., after police have already cleared rioters from the Rotunda once, forcing them to climb out the broken windows on either side, and trying to block the doorway with what appears to be a podium of some kind. But a new breach of the doors occurs, and in the rioters go, Starling among them. 

At 4:27 p.m., he can still be seen outside the Capitol, where he accosts officers, who are trying to clear the grounds. His comments to them include, “You serve us.”; “Are you trying to kick us out? I thought your job was to protect us. My mistake. Sorry that I misjudged you.”; and, “Y’all work for us.” 

Technically, the police that day worked for all Americans – not just the fools and haters who rioted in Donald’s name.

1512. Christopher Belliveau: Who doesn’t show up at a peaceful protest at the nation’s capital wearing a tactical helmet, and carrying a bullhorn, and a cannister of bear spray? Not this guy. 

Allegedly. 

Belliveau is said to have been one of the first members of the mob to attack police lines, shortly after 2 p.m. Evidence appears to show him threatening a female officer in riot gear, and then spraying her with his bear spray. (See: orange cloud, below.) 

 

As an added “bonus,” as Officer 1 tried to go after Belliveau, a second rioter knocked her to the ground. Just as Donald Trump has not described events of that day. Evidence also seems to put the defendant inside the Capitol at 2:17 p.m., among the first rioters to breach the building.

As for his motivation for joining the attack, Belliveau is on video, stating, “I’m here to make sure the Chinese Communist Party does not take over this country through Joe Biden.”

1513. Sohail Bhatti: When not joining a mob bent on overturning the results of a U.S. presidential election, Mr. Bhatti works as a nurse, usually doing shifts at nighttime. When tips led authorities to his house, and an interview followed, the suspect was shown pictures of himself, inside the Capitol. “That’s me,” he admitted. “I went inside the Capitol Building, and walked around because I believed it was my patriotic duty.”   

Naturally, he dressed for the occasion, sticking a red MAGA cap on his head, and wearing a Trump flag like a patriotic cape. 

Assuming you didn’t grasp the real meaning of the word “patriotic.” At one point, having entered the building, he watched other rioters try to kick down a door. He spent seventeen minutes inside and exited around 2:54 p.m.

1514. DAVID CAMDEN: Mr. Camden was finally arrested and charged with participating in the January 6 riot – on July 1, 2024. The Arkansas man traveled a long way to join the attack, at one point triggering a fire extinguisher at a line of police. He also had fun waving a “Three Percenters” flag, after climbing a tower set up on Capitol Hill grounds for Biden’s inauguration. 

He is also said to have been one of the first rioters to break through police lines, formed from a line of bicycle racks. Specifically, Camden picked up one rack and pushed it against the police. 

He has now been sentenced: a year and a day in jail, another year on probation, and $7,000 in fines and restitution.

“They’re scared as s--- right now.” 

1515. Tommy Tatum: Mr. Tatum, who hails from Mississippi, claimed to have been part of the attack on Capitol Hill – but for a long time was not charged. What Tatum did like to do was show up at trials for other defendants, and harass officers who testified about how they had been assaulted. 

Tatum also loved to deal in insults, and film himself, and since he looks like a 400 pound pile of dumplings in a Hawaiian shirt, I will break my rule against insulting others based on how they appear. 

There was a chance he didn’t join the active attackers, because, frankly, he looked like he’d be too fat to go up an entire flight of stairs. 

In August 2022, for example, he followed a police officer out of court, a man of Vietnamese American heritage, and accosted him, phone camera in hand:

 

“Do you think you honored your father’s memory by trying to kill me that day?” Tatum asked a D.C. Metropolitan Police officer in one video as he followed him down the street outside the courthouse following the officer’s testimony on Tuesday. “How does that make you feel as a man, does that bring your Vietnamese father honor? … I hope you take this dishonor to your family to the grave.”

 

In June 2023, Tatum showed up at another court hearing, and enjoyed himself insulting the looks of a woman seated in a row in front of him. “How’d you like to come home to that,” he wondered aloud. 

He even has his own Facebook page, which is stunning in its own right. (When I checked it out, I “learned” that Jesus, were he alive today, would be buying up all the guns and ammo He could find.) 

And in some pictures, Tatum looks like he’s been gaining weight – and might be tipping 500. 

For even more “fun,” you can watch the Tatum Blimp grab the glasses of a woman a third his size and crush them in his hand.

UPDATE: So, I would call it a real positive development when authorities finally charge Tatum with active participation in the attack on democracy on January 6. Allegedly, he showed up outside the lower tunnel entrance to the Capitol, where some of the worst fighting occurred. “Take their helmets! Take their helmets! Take their helmets,” Tatum can be heard shouting in a video he posted of his activities on Jan. 6. In an interview with NBC News in 2022, he said he yelled because law enforcement officers “were spraying us with that deadly gas, and in my mind, I’m thinking if they take their helmets off maybe they’ll stop spraying.” 

As for what transpired that awful day, Tatum (like so many other rioters) puts to bed the idea that it was all peaceful, peaches and cream. At one point, in a video, he can be heard shouting to other rioters: “Don’t run back, just stand your ground, take a breath, take a breath, regroup.” 

Tatum also said in the video as officers were being chased. “They’re scared as s--- right now.” 

“Yeah, run, b------! We got you motherf------ now! Woo! Woo! Woo!" he continued. Finally, evidence appears to show that Tatum added his impressive weight to the push against police lines in the tunnel that day. 

In October 2024, a superseding indictment is filed against Tubby the Rioter. Now he’s accused of assault. Allegedly, he used a flagpole to assault at least one law enforcement officer during the riot.

1516. Michael Amos: Mr. Amos showed up for a tour of the Capitol on January 6, wearing a tactical helmet and carrying what was allegedly a can of chemical spray. You know. Got your suntan lotion? Check. Your sunglasses. Check. 

Your chemical spray? Check and double check! 

A little more digging shows that he was first arrested on the evening of January 6, for a curfew violation, around 7:15. Among other actions, earlier that day, Amos is suspected of spraying police with a chemical agent of some kind. At least one officer was knocked to the ground by rioters in the same area.

1517. Troy Vincent Garrett: Sometimes, this blogger tries to keep it simple. We know – unless we are woefully ill-informed and/or obstinately clueless – that the people who rioted on January 6 were Trump fans. 

Mr. Garrett is yet another member of the Proud Boys, who showed up on that day, and did what he could to break democracy, once and for all. By 12:50 p.m. that afternoon, Mr. Garrett and a large contingent of the Boys had already marched to the Capitol and were preparing for war. 

Shortly after 1:05, Garrett does his part, pushing an officer hard enough to unbalance him as he and others try to hold back the mob. Mr. Garrett is easy to spot, mostly due to his choice of headwear, a gray baseball hat with red brim, and GTG in large letters on the front. He also lends a hand to rioters using a large Trump billboard to try to drive police lines back.

 

He was facing four charges related to his part in the attack, and has pleaded guilty to one: civil disorder.

1518. Jay Thaxton: Thaxton is another member of the Proud Boys. Like Garrett, he is already on Capitol Hill grounds by 12:50 p.m., almost as if he and the other Boys planned to riot all along.

1519. Amy Nicole Gordon: Ms. Gordon is easy to spot in the mob that stormed the Capitol, in part because she’s carrying an American flag on a pole. She entered the building through the Senate Wing Door at 3:22 p.m. She came. She took selfies. She exited. Not much of a part in the riot – just there, adding heft to the mob. 

While inside, she told investigators later, she received a call from her mother, who told her to leave. 

She says she thanked officers on her way out. 

Well, Amy knew her rights – even if she was stupid enough to believe Donald won the 2020 election. So she asked for a jury trial and got it. Then the jury heard the evidence and convicted her on all charges.

1520. Daryl Steven Graham: Mr. Graham’s downfall began with posts he made on his Facebook page. He admitted, for example, that he was going to D.C. to attend the “Stop the Steal” rally. Once he arrived, he began taking pictures, including selfies, and posted those too. 

Surveillance cameras picked up his trail. At 2:28 p.m. Graham is on the steps leading up to the Capitol. By 2:58, he’s inside. He’s clutching a “STOP THE STEAL” sign to his chest, while recording on his phone. Soon after, police drive Graham and others out of the building. 

He doesn’t leave Capitol Hill grounds for another hour and a half.

1521. Nicholas Traina: The New Jersey gentleman entered the Capitol through a broken window, stepping gingerly over broken glass. 

Like any ordinary tourist – as described in MAGA folklore – he wore a military style backpack and had a tactical helmet on his head, complete with what appears to be a GoPro camera attached. Not long after other rioters broke out the first windows, Traina is said to have climbed on a ledge, where he watched and filmed as violence unfolded in front of doors opening on the Rotunda. He remained there an hour, motioning for other rioters to come forward. Then he climbed through the broken window into Office S202. 

At 4:00 p.m. officers started clearing the room, and Traina and others were escorted down a flight of steps, and out of the building. 

Traina remained on Capitol Hill grounds until at least 5:00 p.m., spending part of his time shouting at police. “That doesn’t bother you?” he says at one point. “We were defending every single guy here.” In a second video, he yells at the police line, “This is a peaceful protest. We didn’t burn. We broke three windows. We broke three windows and you shot someone.” 

See: Trump’s rioters weren’t so bad. Only 140 police officers were injured, and democracy was nearly killed.

1522. Rachel Nohle: In the early days of the investigation into the riot on January 6, it was easy to determine where almost every rioter stood. On social media, they would clamor about the “Stolen Election.” They would threaten “civil war,” if Trump were denied a second term. Calls for death to Mike Pence, Nancy Pelosi, and Democrats in general were common. Mix in a few neo-Nazis, and white supremacists, and right-wing militia types, and there you were. 

Nohle is clear about why she breached the Capitol during the riot – and whom she blamed. “Let’s not forgot that the media likes to exaggerate . . . we are completely safe and I would do it all over again. The Trump supporters are unarmed and Antifa just showed up with bats so there’s that.” 

(We have already pointed out some of the people with bats and hockey sticks and flagpoles, beating on police. None are Antifa. In fact, none of the rioters and assorted Trump pals on this list are proven to be Antifa. Not one.) 

Nohle, herself, called Vice President Pence a “bad guy” after he refused to overturn the electoral count. She claimed police let the rioters in. Then, incongruously, according to court documents, on another individual’s Facebook account, she responded to a post asserting the right to storm “the People’s house” by stating: “I’m here and we did. The dc police are not our friends – I have witnessed it multiple times with my own two eyes.” 

Anyway, we know where Nohle stood – and she has admitted she was outside the Capitol for at least 25 minutes. 

Evidence, however, seems to put her inside, although for only four minutes, and thirty-seven seconds.

BRIAN MICHAEL GAHERTY: Another Trump fan gets sentenced to 33 months in jail, after the Texas dope threatens to kill Congresswoman Maxine Waters. 

Four times, he left phone messages, saying he planned to assault Waters, and then kill her, and threw in a few racial slurs, for good measure. He was going to “put a cap” on her, “cut [her] throat,” and “stomp” her good. After he was reported for making his initial threats, and warned, he decided to threaten Waters again, for reporting what he had said. “This ain’t no threat,” he said. “This is a promise.” Now he’s going to miss out voting in 2024, and must pay a $10,000 fine.

1523-1524. Eugenia and Richard Inks: It could be, as interest wanes, that news media folks are reporting less on the rioters from January 6. It would appear that Eugenia and Richard are a couple. 

They were arrested in May 2024, and live in Tampa, Florida. All I can find, so far, is a Reddit post that claims the couple is from Polk County, and that the county is famous for “meth and a Sheriff who was asked why a suspect was shot 68 times, and said “that’s all the bullets we had.” 

Funny, in a macabre way. So I check. Yep, the suspect was hit by 68 shots, out of 110 fired by police, after the deceased killed another officer. 

That was in 2006. 

In 2024, the same sheriff is in the news, after deputies had to shoot and kill a man claiming to be a “sovereign citizen.” Two officers were wounded.

1525. William George Knight: Mr. Knight was brought down, in part, based on distinctive tattoos, including one under his left yet, that aided authorities in his identification. He allegedly traveled from Rapid City, South Dakota, in time to join the attack on Congress on January 6. 

It is true. He doesn’t look like your typical Trump supporter, with his long, blonde-brown dreadlocks and goatee. He does have a large tattoo of the Cadillac emblem on his neck, however, and seems to have a fetish for the car brand. Earlier in the day, he could be seen at the “Stop the Steal” rally. And when police arrested one individual, Knight and others in the crowd began shouting, “Let him go! Let him go!” 

By 12:57 p.m., Knight had already left the rally and marched to the Capitol, to see what he could do. Ten minutes later, as a rioter wrestled with an officer for control of his police shield, Knight approached and yelled at the officer. A few minutes later, as police tried to form a bike rack barrier, the defendant grabbed a rack and tried to wrench it from officers’ hands. In the process, he took a fall. Knight then tried to grab another barrier, and got sprayed with chemicals for his trouble. Now apparently enraged, he could be heard shouting at police, “We ain’t leaving! We ain’t going nowhere!” and “Here are the bitches. Here are the bitches.” 

Apparently, the right-wing excuse: “Oh, police let these people in,” and Trump’s claim, “they were hugging and kissing police,” don’t hold up. 

Knight also helped a group of rioters pick up a large, wheeled Trump sign and use it to ram police lines. Later, he shoved another officer, and dragged away another bike rack. He took a moment to chant, “Stop the Steal! Stop the Steal!” and then rejoined the fight. At 2:30 p.m., according to the Statement of Facts in his case, the police line “collapsed,” and Knight advanced, as did the rest of the mob. 

“If this is what makes you give up, you’re not cut out for revolution,” another rioter exclaimed. Knight nodded agreement. 

He now faces multiple charges, felonies and misdemeanors, both.

1526. Duong Dai Luu: Mr. Luu is said to be seen entering the Capitol at 2:56 p.m.; and phone records also appear to place him inside. He was inside only briefly, but did capture video evidence of damage to one Senate office. This video, he later supplied for investigators. 

He has admitted he was inside, and told F.B.I. agents he went to D.C. to hear Trump speak. Then he walked to the Capitol, went inside, realized he might be in trouble, and exited soon after.

1527. Ian Richard MacBride: Once again, we have a rioter who fits the Trump-fan profile. You have the dopey MAGA red baseball cap. A white guy – which tracks. Also, with the excuses! 

Five days after the riot, on Facebook, Mr. MacBride appears to sink any defense he might present. He posts a picture of himself, posing near a statue of George Washington, inside the Capitol. 

Then: 

“They let us in. It was a set-up. The North side of the Capital was a total shit show. We were peacefully demonstrating, and the Capital Police started firing upon us…flashbangs, tear gas, mace and rubber bullets. They antagonized and riled us up, then opened up the barricades and stood to side, letting us flow up the remainder of the steps and into the building. After they let a certain amount of people flow in, the door was forced closed and barricaded. 

Also posted on his social media account: A picture. He’s behind a bar. There’s a green Kekistan flag on the ceiling, and an “Area Closed” sign that the agent in his case suspects came from Capitol grounds. 

In fact, after getting a good tip, the agent was able to peruse a Patriots.Win website, and find comments allegedly from MacBride, admitting he stole the sign, and hung up the green flag, and a large Trump 2020 flag, at his house. MacBride also posted about his availability as a SWM, age 40, looking for love. He said he was into guns, and BBQ, which made him “a little chubby,” but he was working on that. 

Another conservative also noted the need for a “MAGA dating site.” He or she said they should all be focused on getting married and having a lot of kids. (It might help them finally win the popular vote in 2044, if they did; but I digress.) 

It’s ironic, too, that this particular suspect would claim that the attack on January 6 was a “set-up,” since he was clear about his intent before he ever left his home. On Patriot.Win, for example, he wrote, “I’ll see you F****ts in DC tomorrow. SHADILAY!” 

On January 6, 2021 at 8:52 a.m., the user posted “6 buses full of Patriots coming in hot! Let’s do this!” 

As for Vice President Pence, MacBride had already expressed doubt that he would do what was right (in MacBride’s mind) and overturn the electoral vote. Then he promised that if members of Congress politicians failed, “We will literally drag them out of the Capitol and shove broom sticks up their asses. Don’t fucking push us.” 

By 2:18 p.m., on the day of the riot, MacBride was already entering the Capitol, just five minutes after the initial breach. 

A few minutes later, rioters overwhelmed a police line blocking their route deeper into the building, but the defendant was out again at 2:39. 

Trump supporter, right-wing type, he believed the election was stolen, ready for violence.

1528. Andrew Thomas Millard: Tip to all MAGA folks. If you are planning to try to kill democracy – if Donald loses the vote again in 2024 – do not post about your feelings and plans on Facebook. 

In Millard’s case, a “Suspect 1” posted pictures of himself in and around the Capitol on that fateful day, always in company with – well – a guy who looks exactly like Andrew Thomas Millard. 

“Suspect 1” has been charged, separately, but in one picture, in the Statement of Facts regarding Millard, his face is blotted out. “One” is wearing a red sweatshirt, with “America in arms” emblazoned on the front. He’s also flashing the “White Power” sign, which gives you a taste of the kinds of people who made up the worst elements of the January 6 mob. Phone records seemed to show a direct line to Millard, in the Capitol, and in May 2021, federal agents attempted to interview him at his place of business in Indianapolis, Indiana. One step led to another, and we have, for example, Millard at the Capitol, wearing a “Stop the Steal” sweatshirt. At 2:59 he is seen (allegedly) climbing through a broken window, into the Capitol. 

Inside, at one point, he is said to remove a radio communication device from his pocket and use it…perhaps calling all his “Antifa” friends. 

Ha, ha. I jest. Maybe he’s mad because NO ANTIFA folks are known to have shown up. 

Anyway… 

He enters a small Senate office, S140, and can be seen standing by, while other rioters “are visibly damaging property, smoking, yelling loudly, and chanting, ‘Stop the Steal!” Just about every fool in that picture is taking pictures or videos on their phone. He takes a tour of the building, later, and at 3:13, he allegedly leaves the Capitol as he came. Out the broken window he goes! 

He’s still hanging around the Capitol grounds at 4:31 p.m. when a police line starts to clear out the area, and Millard even gets pushed after he is slow to move. Police can be seen fighting other rioters, but Millard seems to keep his head, and keeps filming, and slowly retreating. 

At one point, after a rioter is clubbed in the head, he speaks (loudly, but seemingly into his phone, as if recording the scene for posterity), “Hitting people in the head (inaudible) that’s – that’s lethal force. Hitting someone in the head with a baton is lethal force. Use of lethal force.” 

Eventually, several officers try to push Millard in the direction they are driving the mob, including one officer who places his baton across the back of the suspect’s neck. At 4:38 p.m., authorities say, they can no longer identify Millard in the throng. He has now been charged with two offenses, but does not appear to have opened himself for any felony charges. 

At one point, earlier, rioters had called on police to take off their helmets and “join us,” which shows you how clueless they were.

1529. David Mullsteff: Mr. Mullsteff, 61, was not arrested and charged until June 2024. He faced the usual four misdemeanor charges, so many non-violent dopes in the mob have faced. 

He was arrested in Richmond, Virginia on June 3.

I can report Mr. Mullsteff has his own LinkedIn page, but I am not joining up to view it; and he is also listed as a “political prisoner” on the right-wing website, PatriotMailProject.com. 

It can also be informative to visit the site, courtlistener.com, and see how many legal steps are involved to bring these people to justice.

Mullsteff and his two pals have ample representation in court.

1530. Eric Oliver: There’s not much information available regarding Mr. Oliver, either. I had a feeling he might be a friend of Rioter #1530, since he, too, was arrested in Richmond, Virginia on June 3. 

He faces four misdemeanor charges. 

A little digging and I do find, Mullsteff, Oliver, and Brandon Pettit (below) were charged as a trio.

1531. BRANDON PETTIT: Pettit, Oliver and Mullsteff came to D.C. together, and we can assume fun was had by all. All three face four misdemeanor charges. 

Pettit has already pleaded guilty, and has received two years on probation, and owes $5,500 in fines and restitution.

“But for his actions…” 

1532. SCOTT ALAN O’BRIEN: We missed Mr. O’Brien earlier on this list. By the time we catch his story, he has pleaded guilty, been placed on probation, and ordered to perform 60 hours of community service, and write out a check for $1,500. 

According to the Statement of Facts in his case, O’Brien, 34,  lives in Ponder, Texas, where he’s a mechanic and sells cars. He entered into a pre-arrest agreement, and did not contest a pair of misdemeanor charges. 

What punishment should he have faced? The agent handling his case notes:

 

The Court must also consider that O’Brien’s conduct on January 6, like the conduct of scores of other defendants, took place in the context of a large and violent riot that relied on numbers to overwhelm police, breach the Capitol, and disrupt the proceedings. But for his actions alongside so many others, the riot likely would have failed. The Court should also consider that O’Brien agreed to a pre-charge resolution and thereby accepted responsibility for his conduct without having been charged with crimes and arrested.

 

It was suggested that he be sentenced to 14 days in jail, be required to do community service, and pay $500. 

The judge cut O’Brien some slack on the jail, and simply upped his fine. Like so many other rioters, O’Brien traveled to D.C., specifically to hear President Donald J. Trump speak on January 6. Later, he managed to climb to the top of a media tower, set up for Inauguration Day. From there,

 

While he was at the West Front, including when he was on the media tower, O’Brien observed rioters fighting with police officers. O’Brien also observed police officers using flash bangs, pepper spray and other means to try to prevent the rioters from advancing. After having actively defended their line for over an hour, the hundreds of officers at the front of the inauguration stage were flanked, outnumbered, and under continuous assault from the thousands of rioters directly in front of them as well as members of the mob who had climbed up onto scaffolding above and to the side of them, many of whom were hurling projectiles. The rioters eventually overran the police line on the West Front, and some of the rioters, including O’Brien, advanced toward the Capitol.

 

O’Brien is not charged with any violent acts or property damage; but by 2:44 p.m., he was inside the Capitol.

 

After entering the Capitol, O’Brien continued into the Rotunda. He joined rioters, including rioters wearing tactical gear and bullet proof chest plates, who were chanting “Whose House?”, “Our House!” O’Brien used his cell phone to take photographs and videos of, among other things, rioters standing on top of statues inside the Rotunda.

 

He was out of the building seven minutes later, and in an interview with a federal agent, in company with his lawyer, admitted being inside, and was cooperative.

1533. GABRIEL RAYMOND ROBIN: We have another Trump fan to add to our list, Mr. Robin – who traveled from faraway Violet, Louisiana, to be in D.C. on January 6, listen to the president speak, join the riot… 

And, finally, on June 11, 2024, get charged. 

In his case, a distinctive stocking cap, green and black striped, made it easy for investigators to pick him out of the mob. He could be seen entering the Capitol at 2:45 p.m. He was carrying a megaphone, as well – but was out of the building eight minutes later. No violence is charged in his case. 

When interviewed, Robin told authorities that he flew to D.C. on January 5, along with his cousin and a third individual. He admitted he saw other rioters involved in violent acts and said at one point he got a nose full of pepper spray – although he was not sprayed. He also claimed police held the doors as he entered, which would be surprisingly polite. 

Ah! According to the Statement of Facts in his case, that claim was … um … untrue. So, he was lying, just like his hero, Donald Dumpling Trump. Mr. Robin has since pleaded guilty to a pair of misdemeanor offenses. 

No doubt, he dreams of a pardon in weeks to come. He has been sentenced to 18 months on probation and fined $500.

1534. Ronald Eric Schultz: When investigators began looking into the role Marc Bru, a Proud Boy, played in the riot, they picked up the trail of Mr. Schultz. It turned out Bru had reserved a return flight from D.C. to Portland, Oregon on January 10, 2021 for himself and a companion. 

That companion is apparently Schultz – a.k.a. “Ronald Scholtz” a.k.a. “Ronnie” a.k.a. “Ron” a.k.a. “Pops” a.k.a. “Old Man.” 

Other evidence puts “Pops” in a rental car with “Witness 1,” a Proud Boy convicted of assaulting police on January 6, and a third individual. So, Antifa, this guy ain’t. Evidence seems to put Schultz inside the Capitol on January 6, although he did keep a mask up, covering most of his face (a juror might have reasonable doubt that the person show in photographs inside the building that day is the defendant.) 

Anyway, we have another right-wing type at the riot, if it’s Shultz. He has been hit with two misdemeanor charges.

“Fore?” 

1535-1538. Jarrett Carl Scott, Tighe John Scott, Scott Alex Slater, Jr. and Scott Slater, Sr.: On June 5, 2024, these four men from Pennsylvania were arrested and charged with felony and misdemeanor offenses for their roles in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Slater, Jr. leads the pack with three felony charges lodged against him, including assault with a deadly weapon. 

All four men face at least one felony charge. 

For some reason, both Slaters were armed with golf clubs, during their confrontations with police. 

Tighe Scott is an ex-NASCAR driver, and the Scotts are father and son. Tighe, 75, showed up for the riot wearing a “Trump 2020” hat complete with flag. And, of course, the quartet started their day by attending the “Stop the Steal” rally and getting all fired up. During the riot, it is alleged that Slater Jr. picked up a flagpole and threw it at police, striking one officer in the head. Meanwhile, dad tried to rip a police shield from one officer’s hands.

1539. Andrew Trevor Settles: It is alleged that Settles spent nearly two hours, on January 6, on Capitol Hill grounds. He is said to have been inside the Capitol for 35 minutes, but is not charged with any violence or property damage. 

When authorities tried to interview the suspect, in September 2022, Settles balked and said he had a lawyer. He has been hit with a pair of misdemeanors.

1540. Nicholas Waldon Smotherman: Smotherman was accused of attacking police who were trying to hold back rioters behind a line of bicycle racks. According to the Department of Justice, 

Police then commanded the rioters to move back. Instead, the rioters pulled the bike rack barricades to the ground, and Smotherman moved forward toward the police line. It is alleged that Smotherman then approached an MPD officer and pushed the officer with both hands.

 

The officer then attempted to push Smotherman back using a baton, but Smotherman stood upright and yelled, “Hit me with it again.” When the officer again attempted to push Smotherman back, Smotherman allegedly grabbed the officer’s baton and attempted to pull it away. As Smotherman acted, he yelled, “I’ll f— take this” and “Come out here b—.” The officer managed to prevent Smotherman from taking the baton while another officer deployed pepper spray, and Smotherman retreated.

 

Soon after, the mob overran police lines, and they retreated. The battle for the tunnel then began. 

For some reason, Smotherman showed up for the riot wearing a ballistic vest – almost as if he expected trouble. 

He has now pleaded guilty to assault.

1541-1542. Edward and Sandra Steen: Edward was arrested on April 29, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. 

Sandra, the same. Both faced four misdemeanor charges. 

Good old Rioter Ed is the first to plead guilty, to two charges.

1543-1544. Charles and Logan Schimmel: We have only a brief mention of father and son, regarding the January 6 riot. The first story I find doesn’t even delineate which is the father, which the son. 

Ah…here we go. According to a Department of Justice memo, father, Charles, and son, Logan, were at the forefront of the mob, as the attack on the Capitol began.

 

As the crowd pushed against the police line, the line moved backward. Eventually, the crowd cut open the exterior canvas of the Inaugural scaffolding, and the crowd, including the Schimmels, began to climb through the scaffolding and up the Northwest Capitol stairs. It is alleged that the Schimmels then aided the crowd of rioters in pushing past police officers on the stairs, surging past fallen barricades. Court records say that Charles Schimmel grabbed a U.S. Capitol Police bicycle and moved it away from the crowd of rioters.

         

It is alleged that the Schimmels were among the first rioters inside the Capitol building, entering at about 2:14 p.m., approximately one minute after rioters had kicked down and smashed the Senate Wing Door and adjoining windows. Once inside, the Schimmels made their way to multiple locations inside the Capitol, including the Crypt, Rotunda, Speaker of the House office suite, Senate Minority Leader office suite, East Foyer, and Senate Wing hallway before exiting the building at about 3:14 p.m.

 

Court documents say that the Schimmels and other rioters remained on Capitol grounds for nearly two hours after leaving the building. At about 4:49 p.m., the Schimmels allegedly were present on the Northwest stairs as police officers formed a line in an attempt to clear the area of rioters. As the police line approached the Schimmels, the two men allegedly leaned backward against police riot shields in order to resist the advancement of the officers.  

 

It is alleged that the Schimmels ignored repeated commands from police to move back and instead continued to push against the line. Eventually, at about 4:55 p.m., police succeeded in moving the crowd, including the Schimmels, down the stairs and away from the building. At about 4:58 p.m., the Schimmels again allegedly stopped and leaned their bodies back against the police line. Court documents say that the Schimmels were among the last rioters to leave the area.

 

As we often note, it doesn’t sound like these rioters needed some F.B.I. plant or Antifa type to egg them on.

1545. RANDY PAUL VERDUN, SR.: He comes from Denham Springs, Louisiana to D.C. on January 6. Is he intent on rioting, like so many others? We do know (according to court documents) that Mr. Verdun entered the Capitol at 2:25 p.m., just eleven minutes after the building was breached. It appears he took pictures or filmed video while he was inside, but ten minutes later, he was forced out by police – who were making rioters climb out a broken window. 

But Verdun was not to be denied. 

After other rioters smashed windows and a fire door, he reentered the Capitol at 2:58. According to the Statement of Facts in his case, “At approximately 3:00 p.m., CCTV shows officers began removing rioters from the Capitol by forcefully pushing the mob through the Brumidi Corridor – out the fire doors – to the Upper West Terrace.” 

That was it. In April 2024, Verdun was interviewed by federal agents. He admitted he drove to Washington to hear President Trump speak. He admitted he entered the Capitol Building and identified himself in several pictures. Good enough to be charged with a pair of misdemeanors – and to plead guilty to both. 

Sentence: two years on probation, $2,000 in fines and restitution.

1546. JEFFREY A. WAKEFORD: Wakeford stood accused of committing four crimes during his visit to Washington, D.C., in January 2021. Did he style himself as a patriot, like so many other fools in the mob that day? Did he believe the “Stolen Election” lies President Trump was peddling every day? 

And the same lies he has peddled every day since? 

Did he perhaps even believe the nonsense lie that Donald Trump won the 2020 election in a “sacred landslide?” 

That lie is nuts. 

(Did you know – and this is just for fun – that at no point during his four years in office did Donald J. Trump have an approval rating over 50%? He wasn’t going to win a landslide, no matter what Joe Biden did.) 

We do know, Mr. Wakeford has agreed to plead guilty, and received a light punishment: two years on probation, and a $500 charge for restitution.

1547. Donald Ping Wang: Mr. Wang allegedly spent two hours on Capitol Hill during the attack on democracy, January 6. Phone records appear to place him inside the building, and flight records show him leaving Los Angeles on January 4, and coming to D.C. He also stayed at the Duo Nomad Hostel, on Pennsylvania Avenue, from January 5 to January 8. Then he flew home. 

He is said to have been wearing a blue surgical mask, and outsized, reddish-framed glasses, when he entered the building at 2:22 p.m. With his longish gray hair, and uncovered head, (and as an Asian American), he stood out in the crowd. He took a tour, according to court documents – and at 2:45 was escorted out, with a police officer at his side, holding a baton. 

As of April 29, 2024, we know that two misdemeanor charges have been lodged against him.

1548. Amy Rebekah Willis: Two days after the riot, a tipster notified the F.B.I. that Ms. Willis was bragging about being inside the Capitol Building on January 6. According to court documents, these boasts were overheard “inside of the small business WILLIS owned and operated at the time.” 

And, Jesus, did all these dopes film their actions that day? It appears Willis used her phone to immortalize her own role. (She is allegedly seen – easy to pick out of the mob – wearing a white coat.) 

She’s also one of the first rioters to enter the Capitol, at 2:13 p.m. She then turned, and appears to film other rioters flooding through the door, into the building. At 2:25, she and other rioters “surged forward breaching the USCP police line, forcing the officers to retreat.” At another point, during her sojourn, Willis had to wait to the side, in a hall, while other rioters pushed through another police line. She went up to the second floor, and then returned to the first. In an almost empty hallway, USCP Officer S.T. stopped her and tried to remove her. The suspect “physically resisted removal by pulling away from USCP Officer S. T. on two separate occasions.” 

Willis was a long way from home (in Sioux Falls, South Dakota) but she thought she knew why she was there. On January 5, 2021, on her company website she posted, “those in the ‘know’ are warning us. I hope we are listening….Our Freedoms should not be so easily be given away. Did not many of our soldiers give up their lives to secure our Freedoms?” Then she added, “a few of us” are going to D.C. “President Trump has asked us Citizens of the United States to stand up against this massive Voter Fraud and to show support. That is why we are going.” 

On January 8, 2021, “WILLIS posted on her Facebook page, ‘We need to wake up. Our country is being stolen from us right under our nose. If our votes don’t count, then the powers that be control us.’ WILLIS posted this comment in conjunction with an article she shared suggesting that Senators ‘never intended to expose the massive voter fraud in the presidential election when they vowed to certify the Electoral College vote.’” 

So, let’s recap. When I write up my entry on Ms. Willis, on August 18, 2024, 1,384 days have passed since the 2020 election. No proof has been found – in any court – to show that the election was stolen. 

Willis is going to enjoy a tour through the federal courts, because she and so many others fell for the Big Lie.

1549. Mark Christian Wroblewski: In September 2021, “Person 1” supplied information to federal authorities, explaining that “1” had met Wroblewski at a hotel in the Washington D.C. vicinity, and spent time with him at the Washington Monument, and then inside the Capitol. 

“Person 1,” then supplied a picture of the suspect, apparently pretending to take a dump in front of some monument, but with pants not pulled down. Anyway… Wroblewski is wearing a black “Vans” ball cap, and stands out with shoulder-length brown hair and a full beard. Federal agents later checked phone records, and “1” had been in touch with Wroblewski, starting on January 4, two days before the attack on Capitol Hill. There was a gap of several months, then on September 14, 2021, “1” contacted Wroblewski again. That was the same day “1” was interviewed by federal authorities. 

In any case, evidence allegedly shows Mr. Wroblewski entering the Capitol at 2:56 p.m. He has on a blue surgical mask, and in one closed caption video can be seen standing directly behind “Person 1.” Apparently, he soon exited (there’s a gap in the Statement of Facts) and then reentered at 3:06. He and “1” are then said to have entered Room S140, an office of Senator Merkley of Oregon. He stayed only momentarily, crossed the hall, and spent a few minutes in Room S145. (You can see a comely blonde in a purple puffer jacket and ball cap in one picture – and if she hasn’t been identified yet, and charged, she should probably be sweating.) 

At any rate, Wroblewski wanders the halls a little longer, than out he goes, to be arrested and charged only in February 2024, with two misdemeanor crimes.

1550-1551. Derek Noftsger and Thomas Hodo: Three and a half years after the attack on Capitol Hill, the ax continues to fall on the heads of suspects like Hodo and Noftsger. Their time of trouble began when Hodo, in the immediate aftermath of the riot, posted about their presence in D.C. that day. 

Noftsger was ready to “lay down” his life that day – or should we say, lay down other persons’ lives, if necessary. 

“It’s my time, my duty, and if I have to lay down my life in D.C. in the two days, then that’s exactly what I’m gonna do,” he promised. 

Sadly, during the riot, it is alleged, Noftsger tried to deploy chemical spray against the police, but couldn’t make his cannister work. So he threw it at the police instead. Not exactly the most skilled insurrectionist, for sure. 

As for Hodo, he brought a bullhorn and had a great time shouting and chanting, and believing in Donald Trump’s lies. “Every treasonous traitor will be hung… We will take our country back.” 

Hodo can also be heard, at one point, talking about the riot. “It could get a lot worse. We came in peace this time,” Hodo explained. “It could get a lot worse, believe me we are well-armed if we need to be.” 

Both suspects face multiple charges, including felony assault.

1552. John Carl: Mr. Carl’s career as a police officer in Pinetops, North Carolina may be in jeopardy, after he was arrested on August 15, 2024, and charged with participating in the January 2021 attack on Capitol Hill. 

He has said he traveled to D.C. to support President Trump, and was not a police officer at the time. He is accused of several crimes, including assaulting an officer, pushing him, and then grabbing his arm and baton. 

At 3:06 p.m. that day, Carl also made his way into the Capitol Building. Another rioter called the F.B.I. on January 9, 2021, to confess his crimes – and reported that he had picked up Carl, his friend, and they drove together to D.C. The informant said he or she did not enter the Capitol, but Carl did, and Carl has admitted as much. As he described the scene,

 “there were people punching back and forth” and that “on our side, there wasn’t a lot of like swinging or throwing … it was just, you know, guys putting their shoulder in and the police with their shield pushing back on the crowd.” 

Fox News has a video you can watch, accompanying a story about Carl’s arrest – and you can see police definitely NOT “kissing and hugging” rioters, as President Trump has since claimed. 

In a news release, the Pinetops Police Department has announced that Officer Carl has been suspended. “As this is a personnel matter, the Town cannot comment further at this time.”

1553. Teak Brockbank: We might be stretching it, but we add right-wing types who get arrested for threatening death upon judges, election officials, and F.B.I. agents – because they think “patriotism” involves standing up for Donald Trump – and killing other Americans. 

Brockbank, a Colorado man, has a history of firearms violations, and promised to kill a lengthy list of public servants. 

For example, he said he would “put a bullet” in one judge’s head.

1554. Hal Huddleston: It can be devilishly hard to try to figure out where to place some of the rioters on the political spectrum. A solid majority, however, have made it clear, they went to D.C. on January 6, to stand up in some way for Donald J. Trump. 

Arrested only in August 2024, Huddleston, a Utah man, had no doubt what happened that day. “I’ve been to the DC only once in my life and that was today to Storm the Capital, break stuff, fight with the police and be shot with tear gas,” he wrote. “I spent the day doing Patriot shit and standing up for my President & country. It was a good day.” 

As for fighting with police, evidence appears only to show Huddleston pushing back against a line of police, as they tried to clear rioters from Capitol Grounds. 

He’s also the QAnon type, and posted this quote on Facebook: God will judge or enemies. We’ll arrange the meeting.” 

So:

1555. David Valentine: Since the riot on Capitol Hill, Mr. Valentine has made his presence known at “Freedom Corner,” outside the jail in D.C., where some of the most violent January 6 rioters are being held. 

Now it seems he took part in the attack on Congress, helping other rioters pick up a large Trump sign on wheels and use it as a ram of sorts to push back police defensive lines.

1556. Nathan Thornsberry: If you’re going to take part in a riot to destroy democracy, and you don’t want to go to jail, here’s a hint. Don’t self-publish a book about your part in the riot to destroy democracy. 

Thornsberry allegedly did. He titled it: January 6: A Patriot’s Story. He stands accused of using his body to repeatedly push against police barricades, and to try to wrestle them out of officers’ control.

1557-1558: Don Workman and John Clark IV: We keep looking for evidence that leftists infiltrated the Trump-loving mob on January6. We keep ending up with people like Clark and Workman – two former Marines. It would seem Workman’s MAGA goose is cooked, since he admitted in a podcast that he admitted “legitimately fighting the cops in riot gear for six hours” on January 6.  He also mentions that he was “pepper sprayed and bear maced.” 

The two men appear to be friends. They  attended the Trump rally, before allegedly rioting, and harassed police when they took an unruly rally goer in custody – before anyone marched on the Capitol. They appear to have been among the first rioters to reach the Capitol, shortly before 1:00 p.m. In one audio, a voice can be heard saying there aren’t nearly enough cops guarding the building “for what’s coming in half an hour.” They were “among the very first rioters to breach police lines.” Clark is said to have thrown a bike rack, part of a barrier to keep the mob back, aside. 

In fact, the two Texans were allegedly part of the “vanguard” that attacked and overwhelmed police lines. 

As for the fable that police invited the rioters into the Capitol, Workman can be heard at one point, on video, saying the mob got “hosed down” with chemical spray. After that, it was “retaliation,” he said, to attack cops. At one point, Workman allegedly confronted a lone cop, with a baton. He pointed behind him, and said, you’re alone. “And that bitch turned and ran.” 

At other points, Workman can be heard agreeing that the “boog,” short for boogaloo, or civil war is near. He expresses the opinion that the election was stolen. Then he suggests that if the attack on January 6 wasn’t enough, the “boog” could kick off on January 20, the day Biden would be inaugurated.

1559: Dylan Swinehart: The defendant has admitted he entered the Capitol, but he and other rioters were pushed out by a line of police, two minutes later. He has also admitted throwing away clothing he wore on January 6, because it had been contaminated with chemical spray. 

He was arrested on August 20, 2024, and asked to be represented by a public defender. 

He has admitted he was inside the building, but is not accused of damage or violence, and now faces misdemeanor charges.

1560. Anatoliy Anatolievich Lutsik: If you think the January 6 rioters had to be “led on” to attack Congress by leftist plants – Lutsik is not your man. He showed up that day, ready to riot. Gas mask? Check. Tactical helmet to protect his thinking gourd? Check. Tactical vest? Sure. 

As for another right-wing talking point: The rioters were let in by police? Lutsik is accused of spraying police with a fire extinguisher, and wrestling with officers to pull a bike rack barricade apart. He is said to be seen entering the Capitol at 2:36 p.m., and exits nine minutes later. 

During his tourist visit, he apparently made a vide call to his home, stating, “Hey ma, I’m in the Senate. I told y’all I’d make something of myself.” 

Yeah. Probably a felon.

1561. William Christopher Lyon: Phone records placed Defendant Lyon inside the Capitol on January 6. Flight records showed him traveling from Houston to D.C. on January 5 and flying back on January 8. He also hung around on the day of the attack with Zachariah Boulton (#1064 on our list.) 

Lyon approached a door to the building at 2:40 p.m., but a line of police blocked it. Then numbers drove them back – and Lyon entered four minutes later. He seems to have done nothing more drastic than to walk around inside and talk on his phone, exiting at 3:10. Good enough to get hit with a couple of misdemeanor charges. 

He has now pleaded guilty.

1562. Frank Carillo: Another right-wing extremist bites the dust, when Mr. Carillo is indicted for threatening to kill Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Barack Obama. “I will cut your eyes out of your F****ING head while you’re alive b****,” he suggested in one message to Harris. 

In another post, it is said, he wrote, “Harris is going to regret ever trying to become president because if that ever happened I will personally pluck out her eyes with a pair of pliers but first I will shoot and kill everyone that gets in my way that is a f****** promise.”

1563. Steven Hassel: Evidence appears to show Hassel traveling from Texas to D.C., in time for the riot. The feds seem to know what hotel he stayed in while in the city, and who he was with – his uncle, David Arredondo (Rioter #943 on our list). In November 2022, F.B.I. agents tried to interview Hassel, but he declined. He has already pleaded guilty to an eight-count federal indictment. 

His crimes include helping rip apart a bicycle rack barricade, to allow other members of the mob to pour through. He appears to have been inside the Capitol, itself, for only about fifteen minutes.

1564. Jason Barrett: The South Carolina man allegedly grabbed a police officer from behind during the January 6 riot, got his arms around his neck, and briefly retained control, before the officer broke free.

1565. Nicholas Hofer: Mr. Hofer is fresh to our massive list of January 6 rioters, alleged or convicted – alleged in his case. 

Hofer was turned in by an old classmate, which is likely to make future high school reunions tense for the defendant. 

Like so many other “tourists” on January 6, Hofer is said to have been garbed in a tactical vest, to have been wearing gloves with “reinforced knuckles,” and to have had a stylish green and black gas mask, which he put on and took off at various times. The suspect is said to have engaged in driving back police lines, behind a barricade of bicycle racks. When other rioters broke open the Senate Wing Door, Hofer is alleged to have entered, washed chemical spray from his face with a bottle of water that he had swiped from a police stash, and then for “tourist-y” fun, to have picked up a wooden exhibit stand and thrown it. Police managed, a few minutes later, to force the rioters back outside, including Hofer. He allegedly tried to re-enter, moments later, was blocked by a police officer and another rioter, and knocked the rioter down. 

A few minutes later, Hofer is said to have taken part in the mob’s attack and attempt to breach the East Rotunda Doors. A handful of Capitol Police officers were driven back into the alcove in front of the doors – which can only be opened from the inside. Members of the mob grabbed them, pushed them, and struck them with flagpoles, also robbing them of police shields and protective equipment. At least one rioter sprayed officers in the face with chemical irritant. Hofer is alleged to have grabbed one police shield, and to have passed it back over the heads of the other “tourists,” as President Trump has described them, and it disappeared in the mob. 

Rioters who  had broken windows and entered the Capitol soon opened the East Rotunda Doors, and in an ensuing crush, Hofer is said to have pushed an officer’s back and head, as he tried to get inside. At 2:39 p.m., Hofer enters the building, and grabs one officer, and pushes him out of the way. 

He remained inside until police drove rioters out again, and exited at 3:17 p.m., his “tourist visit” complete. 

Or not! He is alleged to have joined the attack on a lower tunnel entrance to the Capitol around 3:55 p.m., where the mob used all kinds of implements to batter police lines inside. At one point, a large orange ladder was used to try to hit officers in their heads. Later, a large flagpole was used to pummel the police. 

And Hofer was there!  

At 4:20 p.m. police spray the mob in the tunnel with chemical spray, and Hofer and others finally retreat.

1566. Adam Christopher Mancuso: The defendant looks dapper in images he allegedly posted in front of, and inside the Capitol Building on January 6. His moustache and beard are neatly trimmed, and he’s wearing a stylish Insane Clown Posse hat, which made him easy to pick out of the crowd. 

And…okay, it’s going to be hard for Mancuso to say he wasn’t there, joining in with the other rioters in some way. 

He is said to have been seen entering the Capitol at 2:58 p.m. Soon after, he appears to stop and take a “selfie” with his phone. A few minutes later, he stopped to take a picture of police in riot gear, lining a hallway, as rioters were forced outside. Out he went. Then around 3:20 p.m., he entered the Capitol again. This time, he stopped long enough to don a gas mask and move to the front of the mob. He is then said to be seen pushing back against police, as they again try to clear the Rotunda, and he’s out again at 3:27. 

FUN FACT: When not rioting, Mancuso sells Insane Clown Posse from his own website, “Adam’s Stash.”

1567. James Flint-Smith: Mr. Flint-Smith’s arrest was a long time coming, since he was identified as one of the rioters who managed to get into the Capitol back in August 2021. Who fingered him? Michael Carico, who rioted with him that day. Carico, has already pleaded guilty and been sentenced. 

In one video from January 6, Carico allegedly films his pal, as the march to the Capitol. Flint-Smith remarks, “This is America right here, this is America.” 

According to the Statement of Facts in his case, at one point, the two men are seen on video talking about the gathering crowd. “FLINT-SMITH stated, ‘This is why we came, this is why we came right here. To send a message, to these guys [gesturing towards the Capitol building]. America First.’ CARICO replied, ‘F*ck Congress.’” Eight minutes after the initial breach of the building, the two men are seen entering. Flint-Smith is later seen joining a prayer circle inside the Capitol. 

Which at least is better than pummeling cops. 

As of January 15, Flint-Smith has decided to plead guilty and await either a pardon from Donald Dumpling, in five days, or maybe the Rapture.

1568. Clint Dow Medford: Various tipsters and neighbors of Mr. Medford helped ID him as one of the rioters on January 6. 

We know the suspect made plans, in the weeks leading up to the riot, to travel from his home in Florida, to D.C., with a friend. Naturally, the two individuals attended the “Stop the Steal” rally. Then off they went to the Capitol – which they allegedly entered at 2:24 p.m., shortly after the building was broken open by the mob. Eight minutes later, Medford and other rioters were blocked by a line of police in a hallway, as they approached the entrance to the House Chamber. 

Medford was out of the building by 2:44, and has not been charged with any violent or destructive behavior.

1569-1570. Philip and David Walker: Philip Walker has admitted going to D.C. on January 6, to see his hero, Donald Trump, give another speech (about how the election was stolen). During the riot that ensued, he attacked an individual he thought was “Antifa,” knocked the person down, and took their camera. On his way home to Pennsylvania, later, he threw the camera “in a body of water.” The owner of the camera was also injured during the attack. 

Philip appears to have entered the Capitol Building at 2:40 p.m. on the day of the attack. Investigators looking into his actions during the riot also appear to have evidence to show David, his brother, was inside, too. Naturally, David was toting a big old Trump flag during before entering the building. When the owner of the camera tried to chase his brother, David allegedly pushed that person again. 

Both brothers now face serious charges.

1571. Alexander Poplin: Sometimes, figuring out where the January 6 rioters stood on that fateful day can be hard – although we have yet to find any individual who has posted about being Antifa. 

Poplin, himself, helps destroy several Trump-apologist myths from that day. For example: 

Did police let the rioters in? 

Were the rioters “hugging and kissing” police, as the former president claimed?

 

In a social media post he laid out this description of what happened: 

What else? We learn that Poplin was an anti-vaxxer. Which checks another right-wing box. That he likely served in the U.S. Army. That he attended the Trump rally on January 6, carrying a cool Trump flag. That he was wearing what appeared to be a U.S. Army backpack. 

And that, around 2:30 p.m. that day, as the mob overran police lines, Poplin “can be seen repeatedly striking an MPD officer with the blue flagpole.”

1572. Todd Bills: Mr. Bills appears to have showed up for the riot on January 6, with his noggin’ protected by a bicycle helmet. He also accessorized with a tasteful Trump flag. He is accused of climbing a scaffold outside the Capitol that day, and later entering. According to the Statement of Facts in his case, from his perch on the scaffold, “BILLS was able to observe a line of armed police officers, dressed in full riot gear, fighting to keep a growing crowd away from the Capitol Building, even as members of that crowd began pushing and tackling the police officers.” 

He soon climbed down and joined the mob as it pushed past police, and by 2:23 p.m., he was inside the building. He had fun waving his flag and then helped the mob push past a line of officers blocking a hall, and penetrate deeper into the Capitol. He was soon turned around by police and exited through a broken window, after spending only a few minutes inside.

1573. Christina Marie Praser-Fair: Ah, the siren call of Fame! The rioters just couldn’t stop themselves from gabbing about their roles in the attack on democracy, no matter how large or small those rolls. Ms. Praser-Fair gave an interview to a local television station on January 8, 2021, which helped place her at the scene of the crime. She’s a Trump fan, she explained, saying she closed her Cornwallis House Tea Co., in Winnsboro, South Carolina, for two days, to come to D.C. and support the president.  She and her family, she continued, “felt like we needed to go to this rally.” 

A year later, she was interviewed again – and said she had no regrets for going to D.C. and… 

Um… 

Lying. 

Evidence now appears to show her inside the building, on 17 different cameras. She’s accompanied by her son – but, fortunately for him, he’s a minor at the time. She’s not just “near the entrances,” as she initially told reporters. She can be seen roaming around inside for half an hour. Now she’s been charged – and may have regrets, after all. Plus, she lost two days of business.

1574. August Raymond Garcia: The Wyoming gentleman is accused of wrapping arms around a police officer during the riot, and pushing him down a hallway. And what a bummer! He was identified for authorities on July 8, 2024, by the pastor who baptized him just two weeks before. 

Later that same day, Garcia called the F.B.I. and said his pastor had told him authorities were looking for him. As is so often true, the young rioter fits the Team Trump profile: White male, from a red state, wearing a red MAGA ball cap on the day of the attack – and, as a bonus – possibly holding a bag of zip ties at one point that day. Garcia also watched as another rioter shattered a window to a door at the Capitol and patted him on the back. At 2:42 p.m., he allegedly enters the building, and grabs an officer who tries to stop the rioters from going down a hall, and pushes him several feet back. Then, with his arms wrapped around the officer, he pulls him backwards, out of the way. By 3:01 p.m. police reinforcements have blocked the hall and Garcia and other members of the mob are driven back out. 

Five minutes later, he enters again, by a different door, stepping over broken glass as he comes. As he walks down a hall moments later, he gives one door a swift kick. He manages to enter one office, where another rioter appears to have helped himself to a bottle of some congressperson’s liquor, and who asks Garcia if he’d “like a shot.” He’s back outside a few minute later. 

Good enough to get charged with both felonies and misdemeanors.

1575-1576. Bennett Blair and Celena Belton: It appears that the couple made it inside the Capitol, into a senator’s office, and there lit up – maybe doobies? 

We do know that Mr. Blair was excited, as he and others “toured” the Capitol grounds and building that day. At one point, he can be heard on video, allegedly shouting, “We just [expletive] stormed the Capitol, we stormed the [expletive] Capitol. Look what we are doing, baby. Taking this country back!” 

In other videos, retrieved from the Snapchat app, Blair allegedly shouts, “Traitors,” at officers defending the premises. As early as June 2, 2021, tipsters who knew Blair and Belton, notified authorities as to their presence inside the Capitol. At the time they were riotous boyfriend and girlfriend. 

No telling whether the romance still burns bright.

1577. Brian Holmes: The former fire fighter from Arlington, Virginia is our latest rioter to add to the list. A burly gentleman, of the African American type, he was easy to pick out of the January 6 mob, in a gray hooded sweatshirt, with “VT” in maroon letters – for Virginia Tech. 

He evades arrest until September 2024, but finally gets picked up by the feds, where he’s living in West Virginia. Allegedly, Holmes assaulted two officers during the attack, and wore hard-knuckle gloves – like any other “tourist” going to the Capitol. And why was he there? 

As he shouted at cops, that day – when not assaulting them, “Y’all asked for this, you know that right. Y’all gonna have a long day, y’all gonna have a long … day. Are you ready to speak Chinese? … Because that’s what’s going to happen, that’s what’s going to happen if you let these [expletives] steal this election.”

1580. Damian Johnston: It really sucks to be felled by a mother’s post to Facebook, but young Damian’s arrest comes after a tipster sees his picture, near the Capitol Building, on his mother’s social media. 

The tipster knows the Johnston family, including the suspect. 

At the time of his arrest, Johnston was living in North Dakota – so he’s probably not a left-leaning individual. Okay, let’s consider the “Statement of Facts” in his case. 

At the riot, he’s wearing a Trump baseball cap. 

He attended the “Stop the Steal” rally before joining the mob at the Capitol. 

He enters the building at 3:08 p.m., by which point the glass in the Senate Wing Door is cracked, and there is broken glass from shattered windows on the floor. 

He walks around, inside, apparently speaking into a small microphone; and after about ten minutes he is halted by a line of police officers in a hall. He’s out the door at 3:18 and on his way to getting charged for his minor role in trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power, a kind of baseline democratic requirement.

1581. TINA PETERS: Peters, clerk of Mesa County, Colorado, was sentenced to nine years in prison for tampering with voting machines – which she was positive were rigged during the 2020 election. 

They weren’t. Now she’s going to be sitting behind bars for the next two presidential elections. 

Another MAGA fool. She stole another employee’s security badge, and accessed the machines, to help Mike Lindell – speaking of fools – gather evidence to “prove” Donald Trump was cheated out of a second term.

1582. Michael Fagundes: Fagundes is another rioter we can probably all agree was not “hugging and kissing” police on January 6, as Donald J. Trump has said the people at the Capitol were that day. 

This post from social media captures just who the alleged rioter was: 

 

As for his conduct, itself:

 

It is alleged that Fagundes reached the Tunnel entrance at about 2:42 p.m. and donned a gas mask. He then made his way inside the Tunnel and shortly exited before returning and approaching a group of rioters who were attempting to take control of a police riot shield. It is alleged that Fagundes himself took possession of the riot shield from the group and emerged from the Tunnel proudly displaying it over his head. He then tossed the shield onto the ground before making his way back into the Tunnel and toward the police line. Shortly thereafter, the rioters inside the Tunnel began a heave-ho movement against the police line but were quickly forced out of the Tunnel by police.

 

As the rioters were forced out, at approximately 3:18 p.m., a Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officer was forcibly dragged from the police line at the entrance to the Tunnel and into the crowd of rioters. As the rioters attacked the officer, Fagundes shouted and moved in their direction. The crowd then surrounded the officer, and Fagundes allegedly reached toward the officer a few times before grabbing ahold of the officer's chest and neck and dragging the officer further into the crowd.

Later, he gained possession of another shield, and used the weight of his backpack and the shield to strike another officer on the head.

1583. John Bordeaux: Did we mention: Not all rioters on Jan. 6, were good, peaceful citizens? Bordeaux is accused of repeatedly punching a police riot shield, as he did his mite to drive defensive lines at the Capitol back. Twice, an officer holding that shield, pushed back on Bordeaux, at one point knocking him to the grown, with his shoe coming off. He rose to fight another day, and put up his dukes – as if to punch the poor shield a few more times.

1584. Andre Bonneau: Another rioter, charged with fighting police! Bonneau allegedly turned his back to police holding a line of bicycle racks, trying to stop the mob from taking over Capitol grounds. Bonneau then grasped the rack with both hands, and used his full body weight to try to drive back police.

1585. James Cleary: Some of the worst rioters have been arrested for their roles in the pitched battle, Jan. 6, for control of a lower tunnel entrance to the Capitol. Add Cleary’s name. First, he helps drag a rioter out of the way, as if to rescue him from police. Then he returns to the tunnel to “swipe” at officers, and help drag one into the mob. He also picks up a police baton.

Ehsan Arbabi: Suspect Arbabi’s defense will be compromised, largely because he posted on social media about being part of the mob, and how the plan was to try to hold the building until midnight and disrupt the counting of the electoral votes and, ultimately, the election. “I’m part of the group storming the Capitol,” he also admitted. 

Like so many other fools that day, he seems to have been unable to resist taking pictures as he did his riotous part, and his own account may condemn him to conviction.

1587-1588: Christopher and Earl Jordan: The two brothers, one from Utah, the other from Iowa, allegedly mixed it up good with police on Jan. 6. As a Justice Department memo explains:

 

It is alleged that Earl and Christopher were seen engaging with and confronting law enforcement officers in this area.  As MPD officers made their way through the crowd of amassed rioters on the Lower West Terrace, it is alleged that an officer brushed past Earl Jordan. In response, Earl Jordan allegedly threw his elbow at the officer, knocking the officer off balance.

 

MPD officers then attempted to clear Earl Jordan from the area in order to allow other officers to advance. While this was ongoing, it is alleged that Christopher Jordan lunged toward another officer. Despite verbal commands from police to “get back,” the brothers continued their aggressive behavior. Earl Jordan was allegedly captured swiping at an officer’s face before grabbing the officer by the throat in another encounter. Simultaneously, Christopher Jordan engaged another police officer, pushing and attempting to wrest control of the officer’s baton.

 

Despite repeated efforts by the officers to break free from the crowd and establish a police line on the Lower West Terrace, the Jordan brothers persisted, blocking law enforcement. Another rioter then attempted to pull Christopher Jordan’s backpack, causing him to release his grip on the officer’s baton. The brothers then disappeared into the crowd, allowing the officers to regroup behind their line.

 

Later that day, both brothers were seen in further confrontations near the North Door of the Capitol. Open-source video footage shows Earl Jordan picking up a piece of metal fencing and hurling it toward the North Door as officers struggled to prevent rioters from breaching the building.

 

The Jordan brothers remained on Capitol grounds until evening, when law enforcement finally cleared the area.

1588. Brien Arin Burton: You might be noticing a trend here, but a recent batch of riot suspects seem not to have been: 

A)    Let in to the Capitol by police.

B)     Peaceful “tourist” types, as GOP shills have tried to claim.

C)    Folks who were “hugging and kissing” officers when they entered, as Trump has claimed.

D)   “Patriots,” simply expressing their political believes.

 

In court documents, Burton’s actions are described as follows:

 

A review of the body worn camera (“BWC”) footage of MPD Officers N.M. and J.P. revealed that starting at approximately 2:27 pm, BURTON broke out of the riot crowd through the police line on the West Plaza and then assaulted multiple officers. Other rioters soon followed his actions and joined behind him, and the officers were forced to retreat from the West Plaza soon after. Specifically, at approximately 2:28 pm, after breaking through the police line, BURTON shoved several officers, and then barreled towards Officer N.M. (Images 1 - 3).

 

BURTON continued to barrel toward the Capitol building, hitting another officer so hard that the officer fell down onto his knee (Images 5 - 6).

 

Mr. Burton was soon grabbed by several officers, but they were too hard pressed to put him in cuffs, or lead him away.

 

Outmanned, officers released BURTON to focus on the rest of the oncoming rioters. BURTON then moved to the Lower West Terrace of the Capitol (Image 8), where a significant number of rioters gathered and fought against officers in attempting to breach the building through the “tunnel” entrance constructed for the presidential inauguration.

 

What kind of “patriot” is Mr. Burton? His arrest for charges related to January 6, began when he was arrested for unrelated charges, back home, in August 2023. Local authorities notified the F.B.I., that a person of interest was in custody, and agents soon arrived at the Midland, Michigan jail to talk to the suspect. Burton admitted he was in D.C., on the day of the riot, after he and his wife drove to Washington, to hear Donald Trump speak/lie, and because they believed in “election integrity.” 

Burton also admitted that he believes he suffered a broken rib during the riot, but did not seek medical attention.

1589. Rebecca Irene Marshburn: Well, halleluiah! Ms. Marshburn is NOT charged with trying to tackle cops or smash windows on January 6. She has been hit with four misdemeanor counts.

1590. Roger Preacher: No other information available at present, save for this. Preacher was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, during the riot on January 6. He has pleaded guilty.

1591. Kelsie Marie Watkins: Apologists on the right still insist the patriots on January 6, were led on by evil left-wing types, dressed as MAGA folks. So? Watkins, maybe? She did have on the regulation Trump ball cap that day. She’s a white lady, from North Carolina, which makes her a likely Trump supporter. 

At present, we only know she has been arrested and faces four charges, with her court records otherwise redacted.

1592-1594. TYLER HENSON, Stephen Oseen, and Jamie Charlesworth: Some rioters come to our attention suddenly, their cases already close to settled. Mr. Henson. He was identified as early as January 19, 2021, and admitted he was inside the Capitol during the riot. Henson seems to have merely entered the building, around 2:50 p.m., a small cog in a mob machine designed to upend democracy, and then to have exited around 3:17, when police reinforcements started clearing out the rioters. He faced two charges and has pleaded guilty. 

Court documents in Henson’s case also appear to place his two friends, Oseen and Charleworth, inside the Capitol. If it turns out they have not been charged, we will, of course, remove them from our list. 

UPDATE (January 19, 2025): With less than 24 hours until Donald Dumpling takes office again, Henson is the only one of these three to plead guilty – netting him six months on probation and fines and restitution to the tune of $1,000.

1595. Tristan Broadrick: More evidence surfaces – that if you’re going to do your little mite to overturn a fair election, you should wear a mask, and lots of Trump regalia. Blend in! Mr. Broadrick had no mask, and wore a distinctive shirt or sweatshirt, olive green, with “20” in big white numbers. 

He was in and out of the Capitol in ten minutes, but then entered a second time. He even posted on Facebook, to let his friends know, “I will be going live in Washington D.C. later today.” 

Now he faces misdemeanor charges.

1596. Predrag Jovanovic: Another January 6 rioter suspect arrested. Another suspect not let in by police! 

Jovanovic is accused of taking a leading role in the mob attempt to take control of a tunnel entrance to the Capitol. Surveillance footage appears to show him entering the tunnel and then “rushing a line of police officers on the other side of the doorway. One of the officers used his baton against one of the rioters directly in front of Jovanovic.” 

Mr. Jovanovic is driven back behind one of the glass doors, but forces it open, and other rioters “surge forward and attack the police line. Seconds later, Jovanovic advanced further into the Tunnel and pushed directly against a police officer’s riot shield.” Police ordered the mob back, and used batons and shields “to defend themselves against the surging mob. At one point in the scuffle, Jovanovic reached out with his right hand and grabbed an officer’s baton, then pulled on the baton, dragging the officer towards the mob.” 

The suspect continued to throw himself against the police lines for another fifteen minutes, then exited, but “remained unlawfully within the restricted area on the West Side of the U.S. Capitol for approximately another two hours.” 

The Pilesgrove, New Jersey man now faces six federal charges, including both felonies and misdemeanors.

1597-1598. Perry James Beebe and Emily Sayer-Mayorsky: The lucky duo faces two federal counts, each, related to their antics on January 6.

1599. Thomas Bordeau Sr.: Bordeau allegedly entered the Capitol Building around 2:45 p.m., and almost immediately after held a door open and beckoned for other dopey rioters to enter. He roamed about briefly, and was out again at 2:57. 

At 3:18 p.m., he messaged a Facebook friend, “Just left the capital We were inside the dome Somebody broke the door down We got pepper sprayed I’m walking back from the capital now…” 

Bordeau believed the election was stolen; and now he faces two misdemeanor charges, and an expensive trip through the court system.

1600. Teresa Conemac: The defendant faced two charges for what would likely be a minor role in the riot. At first, I could find no information on the suspect and listed her as “POLITICAL AFFILIATION UNKNOWN.” 

Now that she has pleaded guilty, I learn that she is an anti-abortion activist, and that she was in D.C. on January 6, to protest the results of the election. She entered the Capitol to the sound of blaring alarms, heard that tear gas was being deployed, and exited again after only three minutes. 

She then hung around until 5 p.m. on Capitol Hill grounds for the show. 

Trump supporter, she believed the election was stolen.

1601. Steven Fogarty: On the day of the riot, Steve made it clear in an interview with a CNN reporter, what he was doing at the Capitol. “Unquestionable that our votes were stolen. It’s unquestionable,” he said. “There is so much proof.” Later he says, “You know this is a bunch of really, really pissed off regular folks. I got a job. This is Wednesday. I’m supposed to be at work.” 

In March 2021, he was interviewed by federal agents, but after answering a couple of questions, said he would respond with, “I plead the Fifth,” if asked any more. He is allegedly seen inside the building, at various points, once shouting at a line of police blocking a corridor, “What’s the problem! This is our fucking building! What’s the problem!” 

Should have gone to work, slick. Now you face federal charges.

1602. David Michael Joynt: If there’s a stereotypical January 6 rioter, Mr. Joynt is it. White? Check. Middle-aged guy? Check. Trump hat? Check. Carrying a “patriotic” sign? Check and double check. (His was three stripes, red, white and blue, emblazoned with the words, “We are one,” across the white stripe.) 

Mostly, he seems to have hung back as other rioters overran police lines in front of the Capitol; but at 2:42 p.m. he gained entrance along with hundreds of other believe-anything chumps. He was out again five minutes later, but allegedly remained on restricted Capitol grounds for another hour. 

He has admitted entering the Capitol, but is not charged with hitting police with a baseball bat, or hockey stick, or pummeling an officer with a flagpole, or an expandable baton, like the other Trump fans. 

He’ll likely get probation and a fine.

1603. Cylester Maxwell: We’ve all heard whiners in the MAGA camp claim the rioters on January 6, weren’t really MAGA types. Supposedly, Antifa folks infiltrated the crowd and helped stir up the dopes until they became…a mob. Maxwell, like so many of those arrested, however, started his day at the Trump “Stop the Steal” rally, before marching to the Capitol. 

We have also heard MAGA types insist the rioters were “let in” by police, and they were as non-violent as nuns at a Sunday mass. Maxwell is accused of helping the mob use a large “Trump” sign, 8 x 10 feet, welded frame, wheels the size of a man’s head, as a battering ram against police lines. 

Totally Antifa’s fault that a whole mess of fools picked up that sign and forgot how peaceful they all wanted to be.

Jeffrey Newcomb: Mr. Newcomb, hailing from my home state, Ohio, is the genius who decided to show his love on January 6 (as Trump has now said), by convincing the mob to pick up a 10 x 13 ft. “Trump 2020” sign on large wheels, and with a steel frame, and use it as a battering ram against police lines. 

Aaaah, FUCK! On social media, Newcomb posted that he spent $700 on making the sign, and was keeping his identity secret, “because bullets are expensive.” 

FUUUUUUUCK. These people were crazy.

1605. Jeremy Michael Miller: A tattoo artist from Florida, Mr. Miller joins the list of the indicted only days ahead of the 2024 election. As with so many other rioters that day, he is alleged to have assaulted police. He stands accused of trying to wrestle away a bike rack from police, that they were using to block the mob – then throwing a pole at officers – then trying to take away an officer’s riot shield. 

You know: Just “hugging and kissing” the police on a “day of love,” as Candidate Trump now says.

 1606. Jamie Wright: On October 24, 2024, Bowerston, Ohio’s Mr. Wright joins the long and undistinguished list of alleged Capitol Hill rioters. Wearing the uniform cap of the day – a “Trump 2020” baseball cap, Wright is said to have repeatedly helped rioters rip bicycle rack barricades out of police hands, allowing the mob to drive officers back and eventually enter the building. 

He faces at least one felony charge.

1607- 1608. Reynold Voisine and Roger Voisine: The two brothers from New York decided to show some love on January 6, by hurling objects at police. Reynold went, incongruously, with a crutch! Then he followed with a blue pole. Roger went with the ever-popular “day of love” length of pipe.

Joseph Michael Andrews: The 41-year-old from Hedgesville, West Virginia has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes, involving lowering his head and repeatedly pushing against police lines with his motorcycle helmet-protected noggin’. He also appears to have menaced officers at one point with a flag on a pole he was carrying. Finally, he used his head, shoulder and flagpole to try to drive an officer back. 

Like so many other rioters that day, Andrews also brought along a pair of ski goggles to wear while he “toured” the Capitol Building.

1610. Zachary Pearlman: It’s a long way from Tampa, Florida to D.C., but Pearlman made the trip – and allegedly enjoyed a day of rioting at the Capitol. He is said to be seen at 2:42 p.m., inside, and soon after moves to the front of the mob, as police try to force everyone outside.

 

Pearlman then began jeering at the officers, pointing at them repeatedly with both hands. For the next several minutes, he remained at the front of the crowd as the officers tried to physically force rioters from the Rotunda. The officers' efforts, paired with rioters' attempts to remain, resulted in a scrum of pushing and shoving that lasted several minutes. During this time, Pearlman remained at the front of the crowd and, at about 3:08 p.m., during this scrum, Pearlman extended his left arm and pushed against a police officer's riot shield.

 

Pearlman also appears to have been hit with “a chemical irritant such as teargas or OC spray.” 

He left the Capitol building at approximately 3:12 p.m.

1611-1612. Richard and Keith Andrews: Another father-son team of fools has been charged. Richard, 72, is accused of throwing a chair during the riot. Keith, 49, cheered him on – the blogger would imagine. Both men face multiple charges, but only dad has a felony to beat. Keith, likely spryer than dad, repeatedly climbed into and out of a shattered window at the Capitol, and urged other rioters to join him inside. After police closed a set of shutters to the window, Richard got a chair and threw it through the shutters, striking an officer. 

Later, he shoved an officer in the head – and for his troubles, he got a well-earned face full of chemical spray.

Robert Bixby: The California man looks like your typical Trump supporter: White, male, older – also sporting one of the many Trump baseball cap styles that appeared on January 6, as if parts of a rioters’ uniform. Okay, Bixby has admitted being inside the building, and has also explained his motivation. 

He went to D.C. (traveling all the way across the nation) because he believed the election was stolen. 

It wasn’t. He was duped. As a bonus, he was part of a mob that pushed past a line of police in a hall inside the Capitol, only to be hit, along with others, by a cloud of chemical spray. He was inside for 21 minutes. 

Trump supporter, he believed the election was stolen.

1614-1615. Donald Charles Stedman Jr. and Michael Hershberger-Davis appear to have been arrested in connection with the riot on Capitol Hill.

1616. Robert Piccirillo: Sometimes known as “Bobby Pickles,” this addition to our rioters list is the president of the West Palm Beach chapter of the Proud Boys. 

Almost as if, after all this time, maybe the rioters weren’t led on by leftists, or F.B.I. plants in the crowd. 

Rather that they showed up in D.C., intent on causing chaos.

1617. Andrew Joseph Shea: Mr. Shea is charged with storming the Capitol along with two numbskull friends. Shea showed up on F.B.I. radar when agents were investigating those friends and uncovered messages from one, boasting that the trio “fought thru that shit as a three man wrecking crew,” adding that he was “so proud of my boys.”  

The gentleman from Granite City, Illinois now begins his personal trip through the justice system.

Spanier had fun at the January 6 riot (allegedly) in a cosplay Revolutionary War era dress up costume.

1619. Robert Giacchetti: The defendant has been charged with assaulting police during the riot, and has pleaded guilty. We learn that on the day of the riot, Mr. Giacchetti carried a bullhorn and enjoyed yelling profanities at police. Later, confronted by a police line, the riotous potty mouth used “his right elbow and hip to push against a riot shield, causing an officer to be driven backward.” 

For variety, sometimes he shouted, “Treason,” through his bullhorn, or “1776,” for fun, before invading the building. By 2:43 p.m., he had made it into the Senate Gallery, where he mixed it up, yelling, “Where’d you go?!” 

Perhaps he was hoping to catch a glimpse of Sen. Josh Hawley, who had scampered to safety shortly before. 

Then one last effort to “defend freedom.” 

Giacchetti exited the Capitol at approximately 2:55 p.m. via the Senate Carriage Door. Outside, Giacchetti confronted journalists on Capitol Grounds, destroying media equipment belonging to the Associated Press. He pushed over lights, a dolly, and a camera on a tripod, which struck a journalist, causing the journalists to flee the area.

1622-1623. Emil Kozeluh and Michael Mollo, Jr.: Add two more dopes to our list – even if it may be true that a newly-elected Donald Dumpling may pardon the whole sloppy bunch. Emil was turned in by someone to whom he had sent a video of himself inside and around the Capitol on January 6. He was relatively easy to pick out of the crowd because his Trump hat was a little different, reading: TRUMP 2020 NO BULLSHIT. Also, he had on a yellow hooded sweatshirt under his coat. Michael was also turned in by someone who knew him personally. Mollo went with a 1776-themed stocking cap for the riot – and a yellow scarf that also helped make him easy to pick out of the crowd. At one point, allegedly, Mollo shouted at police, “They’re stealing our country.” Then he grabbed an officer’s hand and baton. When the officer told him he was on camera, Mollo is said to have pulled up a mask, saying, “No, I ain’t do nothing.” 

At 2:38 p.m., now inside the Capitol, the two men helped the mob force open the Rotunda Lobby Doors. Other rioters saved time by smashing nearby windows and then entering that way. 

So, the two dopes have now been arrested, with Mollo likely to face the most serious punishment, if convicted.

Leander Antwione Williams: If you’re going to a riot, don’t wear a distinctive golf hat, a style choice which appears to have been key to identification of another violent rioter, a former fifth round draft pick of the Detroit Lions. Even a distinctive key chain, with a fob for a Chevrolet Camaro matches vehicle registration records showing that Mr. Williams does own a Camaro. 

Other evidence seems to point to Williams – although, innocent until proven guilty. The feds have good shots of his face, after he allegedly pulled down his mask on January 6, having been hit with pepper spray. Records from a parking garage also place him in D.C. on that day. Williams then appears to be one of the leaders of the mob that breaks through the first police line defending the Capitol. Williams is also said to have tried to pull a bicycle rack barrier out of one officer’s grip, and then to have swatted at the hand of another as he or she tried to deploy chemical spray to hold the rioters back. 

Around 1:38 p.m. that day, the suspect approached another police defensive line: 

Williams moved forward and grabbed the barricade, this time with both hands, and pulled it backwards and away from the police line. MPD officers attempted to push Williams away, and in response, Williams jumped up and brought his hand and arm down forcefully on MPD Officer B.T.’s head. Other officers eventually pushed Williams off Officer B.T. and back down the steps.

 

It appears Mr. Williams took a leading role in the battles that day, around 2:30 p.m., grabbing and pushing two different police officers. He went on to watch the battle for the tunnel entrance, where some of the worst violence occurred, and is said to have remained on Capitol Hill grounds until dark.

1625. Daniel Van Oaks: With a threat of Trump pardons hanging over the investigation, prosecutors seem focused on charging the worst of the worst rioter, including (allegedly) Mr. Oaks. The Utah man is accused of lunging at an officer on the day of the attack and grabbing away his baton. 

Mr. Oaks might not be the most popular person back in Alpine, Utah, because at least three tipsters who knew him personally turned him in. 

Also, his hopes of defending himself in court are likely to be hampered by his penchant for bragging about what he did. 

Investigators found Van Oaks’ Facebook profile, where they discovered multiple photographs and videos he’d uploaded from the Capitol on Jan. 6. In one video, according to charging documents, Van Oaks celebrated after learning other rioters had breached an office suite used by then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

 

“What are we outside here for?” investigators said Van Oaks says in the video. “We should be inside. I’m so disappointed in myself. Fox News is saying protesters are out of control. We haven’t even begun to get out of control yet.”

 

In another video recording while on the Upper West Terrace of the Capitol, Van Oaks allegedly boasted about stealing the officer’s baton, which he referred to as his “little souvenir.”

 

“I kicked some butt. I got a baton from one of the cops, riffed it off of his hands,” Van Oaks reportedly said. “I was trying to pull him down towards up over the wall and he wisely let go of his baton and I broke through the police barricade and ran around, took a couple guys out, leading the charge. And about 100 more cops showed up because of what I did. I had some people following me out.”

 

The suspect also said he and his son had fun “storming the castle” that day, and bemoaned the fact that when he went back to retrieve the baton (which he had tossed in a bush) after he got tired of rioting, it was gone.

1626. Dennis Wayne Barnes: Dennis has long been on prosecutors’ radar, after Joseph Barnes admitted during an interview with authorities that he and his dad – namely Dennis – did go to D.C., and did enter the Capitol Building during the riot. Joseph appears to have great fun filming the riot that day and documenting his and his father’s travels through the halls of the building. 

They do not appear to have done any damage, nor do they appear to have pummeled any cops or members of the press. 

So, yay, for them. 

Then again, after having been ordered out, through a broken window, Barnes & Barnes reentered the Capitol at around 3:09 p.m. 

At some point, pop appears to have injured his hand – but two other “tourists,” there that day to hug and kiss the police, offered first aid.

1627. Abigail Shry: Ms. Shry was not one of the select J6 dopes who traveled to D.C. to unravel democracy. But we include her in our list because she was “patriotic” enough to threaten to kill a judge, overseeing one of the federal trials related to Donald Trump’s efforts to steal the 2020 election. 

So it is: On November 13, she pleads guilty to threatening not only the judge, but “all Democrats,” and all members of the L.G.B.T.Q. community. 

Ms. Shry is not exactly a genius, as a Department of Justice memo explains: 

At the hearing, Shry claimed that at the time she made the calls, she did not think it was illegal to do so. She said she thought it was freedom of speech and that she did not intend to act on the threats. 

 

In her calls, Shry stated, “You are in our sights, we want to kill you. If Trump doesn’t get elected in 2024, we are coming to kill you, so tread lightly...” She added that “you will be targeted personally, publicly, your family, all of it.”

 

Well, not that we know Donald won, let’s hope the defendant enjoys watching his second term, all of which she could spend in prison.

1628. David Slinker: The aptly named Mr. Slinker is accused of stealing Nancy Pelosi’s laptop during the riot. He can allegedly be seen trying to pick it up, without leaving any fingerprints, and then appears to have stuffed it in his backpack. Phone and travel records appear to put the dope squarely inside the Capitol Building on January 6. As an added bonus, Mr. S. had traveled to D.C. in November 2020, in order to take part in the “Million MAGA March.” 

On January 6, Slinker entered the Capitol at 2:19 p.m., just six minutes after the initial breach of the building. He then filmed his peregrinations inside the Capitol, including the moment when he and other rioters found the computer laptop, and someone called out, “Yo, who’s gonna hack it?” 

Well, Mr. Slinker was ready – but first, he climbed aboard a large table, where the laptop rested, laid down so that he could film himself, and the laptop behind his head. Moments later, he can be seen touching the keyboard with a knuckle, meaning no fingerprints left by the knucklehead. Then another rioter, Maryann Mooney-Rondon encourages him to swipe it, suggesting, “It would be interesting to know what’s on that hard drive.” Her son, Rafael Rondon, who was with them in the room, added, “just do it without – no – no fingerprints there.” 

He now stands accused of stealing the laptop, in part based on testimony from Maryann and her son.

1631-1632. Jared Hawks and John Padgett: If you’re going to an insurrection, you want to have a buddy to share the memories. These two yahoos face multiple felony charges, involving battering police lines with “a large metal object,” kicking a bike barricade until police lost control of it, and then using a “large object” as both a shield and battering ram against yet another police defensive line. 

That large metal object turns out to be a large “Trump 2020” sign on wheels.

 

UPDATE (December 6, 2023): Mr. Hawks is arrested again, this time in Volusia County, Florida, “and charged with battery – second/subsequent offense and resisting an officer without violence. Bail was set at $5,500.” 

In fact, a second check for records pulls up this story from Channel 10 News, Tampa Bay, indicating, “Hawks has since been arrested multiple times [both before and since Trump pardoned him] on charges including battery, burglary and resisting an officer, according to Volusia County jail records. Most recently, Hawks was charged with battery and contempt of court in November 2025.”

1633. Dane Christoffer Thompson: If you were not a complete nitwit, you would have a hard time missing this simple fact. Thompson, like so many other rioters on January 6, was not “let in by police.” He was not “hugging and kissing” police. He was not just like any other “tourist” visiting the Capitol. And it was not a “day of love.” Thompson is accused of wrestling a barricade out of the hands of outnumbered police trying to D-E-F-E-N-D the building and grounds. At one point, an officer is knocked to the ground, and Thompson falls across his body, and then when both rise, the suspect “lunges” at the officer, only to have other officers use their batons to try to repel him. 

Tourist Dane decides to grab one officer’s baton, turn his back to him and pushing him backward, until “TD” takes a tumble. He rose again to tour another hour, joining the mob trying to drive back police defending a tunnel entrance to the Capitol. Other “tourists” battered police line with a variety of “touristy” type objects, such as metal poles and even a baseball bat. 

A quick look at Mr. Thompson’s social media page shows him (circled in yellow) with a passel of pals, at the Las Vegas airport, getting ready to fly to D.C.

1634. Adrienna Ciocciso: The suspect has admitted being inside the Capitol on January 6. Like so many other rioters that day, she believed the 2020 election was stolen. “I will not sit down, I will not shut up, I will not comply!” she promised – which would be the rational behavior – if the 2020 election had been stolen. 

It wasn’t. 

She also believed in the mythical Antifa folks were going to show up that day, posting, 

“I am an American, and I’m sick of the corruption in this country!” and “Attn: DC ANTIFA. We will not be attending DC in colors. We will be blending in as one of you. You won't see us. You'll even think we are you. We are going to smell like you. Move like you and look like you. The only thing we will do that’s us! Is think like us! Jan 6th is gonna be epic. Can't wait to walk around with you all.

 

“Thinks like us,” means we are going to be stupid, and believe Donald Trump, and we are going to riot. 

Entering the Capitol with the first batch of rioters, she can be heard screaming, “1776, motherfuckers, this is our house.” 

Later, she’s heard howling, “Patriots won’t let this country fail.” She was allegedly inside the Capitol for an hour that day.

1635. John-Everett Doling: The latest suspect to add to our list watched another rioter smash a window to the Capitol with a crowbar. Then Mr. Doling entered himself. 

It doesn’t go well, once he’s inside, and he and other rioters get a face full of chemical irritants. 

Tipsters later turned Doling in, noting that he usually went about armed. At the time of the riot, he was serving eight years on probation, related to other crimes. He now faced charges related to the effort to destroy American government.

 

UPDATE: No doubt sniffing out a possible pardon from Donald Dumpling, once he takes office, Doling has pleaded guilty to a pair of misdemeanors.

1636. Patrick Gorski: Gorski was turned in by an informant who revealed Gorski had been talking openly about playing a part in the attack on Congress, on his social media page. The same tipster also told authorities that Gorski had a photography business. In fact, at least three more people “ratted” him out to the F.B.I. 

Turning on an acquaintance who he believed was one of the “rats,” Gorski angrily insisted he was a photojournalist, which gave him a right to be on Capitol Hill grounds, as a press observer. At one point, Gorski listened to two internet personalities, as they took turns shouting through megaphones, “Trump won.” 

Eventually, he joined the battle for control of a lower tunnel entrance, where some of the worst violence occurred. 

Inside the tunnel, the sirens continued to blare, rioters pushed against the police, and the rioters chanted, “USA! USA!” GORSKI pushed toward the front with his phone and took photos or videos. GORSKI was hit with O.C. spray, and he moved toward the side of the doorway. GORSKI put his phone away and pushed his way to the front. He screamed at the officers, “This our house! This is our house!” as he lunged forward and pushed against an officer’s riot shield as shown in IMAGE 17 and IMAGE 18.

 

He left the tunnel, and then at 3:14 p.m. he entered the Capitol building – and even managed to snap a photo of a rioter and a Capitol police officer, using the other rioter’s phone. 

He was pushed out again, but reentered the Capitol for a third time, by a different doorway, and got pepper-sprayed again. 

And why was this poor fool in D.C. on January 6, 2021? A review of his social media posts shows that if there was a conspiracy theory out there about how the vote was rigged against Donald, then Gorski fell for it. On January 7, he told a friend that yesterday was “a success.” He clarified that the entire affair was a success, “not voting wise but absolutely so American and amazing.” 

Could this young college student from Chicago be one of the long sought “Antifa” tricksters who led on others to riot? 

Nope. Turns out Gorski had worked for the Trump 2020 campaign.

1637. Richard Gutowski: Mr. Gutowski was arrested on September 1, 2024, and faces a quartet of misdemeanor charges. 

No doubt, the Defiance, Ohio gentleman is dreaming of a pardon from Donald Dumpling, on January 20, 2025.

1638-1639. Blake Patterson and Ryan Holden: Mr. Holden and Mr. Patterson were both arrested in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on September 11, 2024. Both face four charges related to their participation in the attempted burning down of democracy. 

Both may get pardons from the Pyromaniac-in-Chief, on January 20, 2025. 

Blake and Ryan were turned in by a tipster in February 2021, shortly after the attack on our nation’s capital. Blake showed up on Capitol Hill, wearing a black motorcycle helmet to protect his noggin, and wearing a black sweatshirt that identified him as “alpha.” (I would love it if Holden had had a sweatshirt that added, “bits.” But no.) They were allegedly inside for thirty minutes, and on Capitol Grounds for much longer, and refused multiple police orders to leave the premises.

1640. Clayton Jones Jr.: A check of phone records led to the arrest of Mr. Jones. And, as you can see, satellite data appears to show the suspect both in and around the Capitol on January 6, almost as if, for the five hundredth time, we can see these rioters weren’t “led along” by Antifa types trying to make the Trump faithful look bad. 

In fact, at best, the Trump faithful were a bunch of dolts. 

 

Jones was turned back inside one hallway when police released tear gas, and during his time inside, at 2:52 p.m., approached at least one officer to say, “this is a non-violent protest.” That officer appears to have given Jones a “thumbs up.” 

Fourteen minutes later, however, as police tried to push rioters out of the Rotunda, several rioters did assault officers. 

Jones, who with his bushy white beard, looks like Santa Claus, if Santa took the first two Ozempic shots, later admitted he was inside the Capitol (for about 37 minutes) and told federal agents, “He planned on participating in the protest of the 2020 presidential election. JONES explained that he believed the election results were falsified and that President Trump won the election.” 

In other words, Jones was duped; and democracy was almost cut off at the knees, and now the man who lied to Jones and millions of others is about to be placed in charge again. God save the U.S. Constitution.

Killing Democrats for Jesus. 

1641. Kevin Moore: I missed Mr. Moore in my first go round – but he’s not Antifa, for sure. He’s Proud Boy, all the way. 

He and Bart Gore (#1269 on the list) were clear about why they were heading to D.C. in time to riot, and equally clear about what they thought needed to be done by the rioters. 

According to court records, they had no doubts about what they were doing. The day after the 2020 election, Gore turned to social media to call for “controlled violence.” On December 12, 2020, he let Moore know he had just signed on with the Proud Boys, explaining, it was “time to put boots on the ground.” 

Moore didn’t need some F.B.I. “plant” in the mob on January 6 to rile him up. He was ready to do his part, from the start, responding, “How can I join?” 

Gore was after “the head of the snake,” he told others. Targets, then, included Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and even then-Attorney General Bill Barr – whose “crime,” apparently involved telling President Trump that the election hadn’t been rigged, and his claims to the contrary were “bullshit.” 

The “bullshit” language was unknown at the time, but not the fact Barr had told his boss his claims of stolen votes were unproven. 

And, lo, these long four years since, those claims remain figments of the Trumpian imagination. 

Or “lies,” to be more precise. 

“I’m so ready to kick the lungs loose in these mfers,” Gore reportedly told Moore. Gore went on to say he fantasized about capturing Obama or Clinton. “I’d strip them naked and beat them with a belt and switch,” Gore allegedly told Moore. “Then I’d rest and beat them some more.” 

The two men then allegedly discussed bringing AR-15’s and other weapons to D.C., including a small bat to club anyone that stood in their path. They even planned to bring mouthguards. Again, Gore assured Moore their cause was righteous, messaging, “There’s honor in dying on your feet.” 

Of course, as we have often pointed out, this “dying,” implies a readiness to do some “killing,” and there was no cause for violence in defense of honor or anything else. Trump lost. 

It should be obvious by now that he was lying when he insisted that he had won, and it was ludicrous when he claimed he had triumphed in “a sacred landslide.” Too bad so many fools followed along. 

(Gore also talked about not wanting his kids to grow up in a “communist country,” and both men thought their right to worship “Jesus” was endangered. And that’s why you can go to church next Sunday and pray, if you want, and Elon Musk is still a gazillionaire, and now Elon thinks we need to cut back on Medicaid, and food aid for poor kids. I’m sorry, but this blogger is thinking Gore and Moore were none too bright.)

1642. Derek Noftsger: Another day, another dope to report: This dope is from Snohomish, Washington, which means he had to travel clear across the country to go to a riot. He is accused of picking up a police shield from the ground, during the mayhem, and, when an officer pushed back another rioter, taking the shield above his head with both hands and throwing it at the folks in blue, defending the Capitol.

1643. Baptiste Quinternet: Well, if you’re going to get arrested for your cameo role in the film, “Killing Democracy,” you might as well get arrested after the killer himself is elected president again. 

Mr. Quinternet gets pinched by the feds on November 21, and will no doubt spend Christmas dreaming of a pardon under the tree. He is described in court documents as “French-American,” and I am hoping he is an illegal immigrant. 

Or maybe a transgender person – who wants to watch me or my wife, or both of us – pee. Because, yes, that’s way scarier than a few thousand fools rioting, just because Trump lied and told them Biden cheated.  

The suspect seems to be doomed, as far as proving innocence, since multiple photos and videos place him inside the Capitol. He even waves a crowd in a hallway forward, and they push past a line of police. In fact, he is allegedly seen near the doors to the House chamber, as others battered it and broke windows – and then had security agents inside point guns in their faces. 

Naturally, he had to film it.

We can also report that the suspect is said to have enjoyed standing atop a police vehicle on this “day of love,” as Donald Dumpling now describes it.

“Execution is the just punishment.” 

1644. Morton Irvine Smith: Add another dope to our list. “Morton,” if we may, faced the usual four charges filed against non-violent numbskulls who showed up to riot for Trump. 

I’d like to point out that Mr. Smith is, and hangs with, exactly the kinds of folks you would expect to find gathering to riot, with the sole aim of keeping Donald in power for four years he didn’t deserve. Smith is pals with Alan Hostetter (#198 on our list), and Russell Taylor (#199), who thought killing a few lawmakers on January 6 would be a solid plan, if you wanted to protect “freedom.” 

In the run up to the riot, Hostetter could be seen wearing a QAnon pin, and stirring up a crowd back home, opining, “There must be long prison terms,” for lawmakers who stood in Trump’s path to power, “while execution is the just punishment for the ringleaders of this coup.” 

Smith, another believer in “Q,” is seen below, riding in Taylor’s red Corvette, which Taylor has nicknamed the “Patriot Missile.”

 

We also know that on January 5, at a pro-Trump rally in D.C., from a platform where Roger Stone (pardoned felon), Alex Jones (now deep in debt for defaming Sandy Hook families), and other scuzzy right-wingers spoke, Smith took a turn. “Whether through prophecy or divine intervention,” he told the crowd, “a single man has taken the torch of freedom from the smoldering ashes of a nation damned, and raised it to a beacon of clarity.” 

Donald Trump! 

Sure, sure. That fat ass lost in 2020, by seven million votes; and only fools failed to figure out basic math. 

We should also note that when Hostetter and his pals began holding rallies in California, first to protest mask mandates, and vaccines, and liberals generally, and then later the 2020 election, those rallies became magnets for the “Groypers” crowd, the neo-Nazi nuts on today’s fringe right. Hostetter helped pave the way, after he began attacking Black Lives Matter protesters, describing the movement as a “Marxist domestic terrorist group dedicated to killing police officers.” In fact, in the way of the far right, where anything inconvenient isn’t real, Hostetter, a former police officer himself, insisted that George Floyd’s death was “clearly orchestrated and pre-planned.” 

Naturally, for people like Alan, Russell, and Morton, it was an easy leap to believe that Trump’s defeat wasn’t real. 

Hostetter’s rage only increased as the pandemic shutdown continued. Those of us who believed the pandemic was real, and wore masks, and didn’t care if you read your Bible every night, but maybe don’t talk about gays as if they deserved to die, were now viewed as an existential threat. 

“You can see the blind hatred in their eyes as they incinerate bibles and American flags, as they raise their middle finger to the world and say ‘F’ your Jesus, ‘F’ America,” Hostetter howled. “You can feel their loathing for our homeland.” 

Nah. Just don’t kneel on black folks until they’re dead. 

At any rate, Hostetter told a gathering of supporters one evening, to prepare for war, to stock food and ammo. 

I think that might be an extreme way of keeping transgenders from watching us as we go pee. 

So, that’s where we are with Mr. Smith, the latest rioter to be added to our ever-growing list. 

 

FUN FACT: In one story, Russell is described as having a “massive frame,” 300 pounds or so, but fond of skinny jeans. I’m trying to imagine the look.

 

FUN FACT #2: Taylor’s lawyer later explained what happened on January 6, noting that his client’s arrest and conviction could serve as a “cautionary tale of when there’s too much political noise that one can’t see clearly.”

 

FUN FACTS #3: Looking for more insight regarding Morton, I learn that in 1994, his mother removed him from her will because he insisted on marrying a Boston girl, with working class roots. (Okay, a plus for Morton.) Mom’s decision, her son later said, cost him $100 million. As for mom, she reportedly slept with a loaded shotgun, and was married four times. 

As for Morton, his dad once complained that his boy, then 37, would rather hang out at a pool and drink beer than work for an honest living. There might have been some truth to that story, since Morton got nailed for a regular DUI in 1995, and again in 1996, this time for driving under the influence of cocaine. 

And then I watched a video of Mr. Smith railing against masks and COVID shutdowns, wherein he notes, “the Constitution did not guarantee anyone healthcare,” which is true, but misleading, since the Founding Fathers believed using leeches to bleed a patient with almost any kind of ailment was primo medical practice. 

What else? At the height of the pandemic, his wife, Marianne Campbell Smith, refused to wear a mask in a grocery store – and managed to get arrested for trespassing. 

More recently, in March, 2024, Mr. Smith attended a “Stomp Fentanyl Fashion Show,” but I think he must have divorced his wife, because he’s with another woman. Fortunately, it was not a masquerade ball. 

Last, but not least, Mort has pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor and now sits, excited, waiting for Donald’s pardon.

1645. Stacey Lynne Urhammer: It must suck to make it all the way to September 2024, and then get arrested for being a bozo who joined the attack on Congress, what seems like ages ago. 

Urhammer is your gal, however. Now she’s facing four charges – misdemeanors – and dreaming of a pardon for Christmas. Like most Trump supporters, she’s probably too obtuse to notice: All this time passed since 2020, and not one court or recount of ballots has ever shown significant voter fraud occurred. 

Even Denish D’Souza, producer of that dopey movie that supposedly showed ballot “mules” rigging the election now admits that “2000 Mules” was basically fiction. (And if you don’t know why he’s admitting it now: He’s afraid he’s going to get nailed for libel by all kinds of people.)

1646. Kristen Oliver Cunningham: Well, at least Urhammer had a friend to riot with, allegedly, maybe even a boyfriend. Both she and Cunningham are from Humboldt County, California – and they traveled east together in January 2021, and were later arrested the same day. 

When reporters tried to follow up on the story, a call to Urhammer went to voice mail, and someone at the Cunningham number picked up – and hung up.

1647. George Gonzalez: George was “let into the Capitol” on a “day of love,” when he allegedly struck a window hard enough to shatter it, then kicked in the glass, and climbed through. That made him one of the first rioters to breach the building. At 2:17 p.m. that day, already inside, he charged a line of police only to be “intercepted” by two officers. 

Gonzalez was pushed back, but allegedly charged the police a second time. Rioters soon overwhelmed the police lines and pushed further into the building. He and other dopes were ushered out at around 2:55 p.m.

1648. Walter Joseph Wentland: Walter showed up for the riot wearing a black tactical helmet and vest, festooned with right-wing patches: Proud Boys, Three-Percenters, and one reading, “Taxation is Theft.” 

In fact, he appears in a group photo for the “Hudson Valley New York Proud Boys.” So, we are almost four years into our research, and still only one or two left-wing types have been uncovered. 

Apparently, his right-wing pals know him by the nickname, “Buzzsaw,” and Buzzsaw showed up with a bullhorn on January 6. Good old “Buzz” grabbed for at least two police officers during the attack, and helped overwhelm a line of defenders. It appears he entered the Capitol and left again three minutes later.

1649. David Caleb Crosby: Crosby has been plugged in here to replace a rioter I had listed twice. Not only was he not let in by police on January 6, he stands accused of repeatedly ramming a line of police who were defending a bicycle rack barricade, and trying to hold back the rampaging mob. 

At the same moment, in one picture, as he turns his back to ram the line again, a few feet to his right (again, back turned) you can see another rioter not being allowed in, as an officer unleashes a jet of chemical spray to the face. In fact, he got doused by a Mk 46 “super soaker” and still refused to quit trying to plow through the line. In fact, Crosby was stopped only after police grabbed him and pulled him over the barricades, and then a handful of rioters had to subdue him. 

Trump has recently insisted that the rioters that day “had no other choice.” Truth be told, they had many. They could have voted in 2020. They could have written to lawmakers to protest. They could have tried to stay informed. They could have decided not to ram into police defenses at all. Not Crosby. He was another one of the angry chumps. On Facebook, in the wake of the attack, he posted that he “honored” to have been in D.C. on January 6 with “so many Patriots,” and insisted he and they had gone there, “resolved to defend Free & Fair Elections in the USA!” 

In Rioter #1649’s case, tipsters helped identify him, using a variety of measures, including his earlobe shape. He also wore a distinctive sweatshirt, and went into the fight unmasked. 

 

It’s safe to say that with a normal president in office, Crosby would be forced to stand trial. But he and the other rioters were doing Donald Trump’s billing – and he’s likely to be pardoned despite his alleged crimes. 

On the day he was arrested, December 16, 2024, 1,504 days had passed since the 2020 election. No proof has ever been show in court to indicate that significant voter fraud occurred in that contest. So Crosby was rioting for no good reason. He might as well have gone off and attacked cops, demanding more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in vending machines. 

Trump lost by millions of votes in 2020, just as polls predicted. Then he won a much closer election, four years later, just as polls predicted. 

At this point, you have to be almost willfully uniformed or terminally obtuse to miss the simplicity of facts.

Daniel and his “day of love.” 

1650. Daniel Dustin Deneui: Mr. Deneui clearly had other, better choices on January 6 than to show up for a riot – which it appears he did. In a video taken that day, he identifies himself to Capitol Hill police. For some reason, he has decided to wear body armor and reinforced gloves. 

And to make the trip to D.C., all the way from Colleyville, Texas. And, in a TikTok video titled, “Patriots Fight Back,” to (allegedly) remove a collapsible baton from his vest and wave it at police defenders, as he walked along their line. Seeing the weapon, the police made a point of grabbing Deneui and taking him into custody – at which point a search revealed he was wearing body armor. 

Deneui lost his baton, as a result, but was later seen helping rioters kick in wooden shutters on a Capitol Building window – after the glass had already been broken out, and as police tried to create a makeshift furniture barricade to keep the mob out. After a female rioter tried to use a flagpole to break through, Mr. Deneui, ever the gentleman, asked if he might be of assistance, and relieved her of her burdensome task. He looked through an opening, jabbed the pole inside, and hit an officer in the shoulder. Just like Donald Trump said. It was “a day of love.” 

Daniel then used the pole to break out other pieces of the shutters. Then a third rioter, with another pole, battered the shutters. Deneui thought that looked like fun and took a broken piece of board and used it to hammer away. And yet, President-Elect Trump can still say that people like this “had no other choice.”

1651. Judith Celese Hoekstra: If we have learned one lesson from January 6, it is: Do not show up to overturn a fair vote, wearing distinctive clothing. Ms. Hoekstra allegedly did, with a stocking cap in alternate blue and white stripes, accessorized with a long red scarf. 

She is allegedly seen entering the Capitol at 2:37 p.m. A few minutes later, she shoved her way past police, stood in the door to the Senate chamber, to keep it from being closed, and then ushered other riotous fools inside. 

She was out of the building again, in twelve minutes, total, having done her small wit to destroy democracy.

1652. Steve Elijah Johnson Jr.: The suspect has admitted to police that he was in D.C. on January 6. 

Now he stands accused of assault, as follows: 

BWC [body-worn camera] footage captured by several officers located on the police line depicts Johnson pushing against officers and through the police line, then being pushed back. At approximately 2:27 p.m., BWC from multiple officers shows Johnson grabbing an MPD officer dressed in riot gear by the collar of her uniform while grabbing her baton at the same time. At 2:28 p.m., Johnson was pushed back off of the MPD officer, but Johnson then reached forward again to grab her baton—this time grabbing it with both hands. At that point, Johnson was briefly detained by other MPD officers before they were forced to retreat back toward the Capitol building as the police line was overrun by the crowd.

1653. ANDREW KYLE GRIGSBY: Mr. Grigsby, of Kentucky, was identified as an alleged rioter by a former co-worker. He stands accused of using chemical spray to battle police during the riot.

According to charging documents, Grigsby has an interesting defense, which he offered up to federal agents: 

During the telephonic interview and a subsequent telephonic interview the following day (April 28, 2021), Grigsby stated that he had found a black can of bear spray with a yellow handle and trigger sitting on a wall when he showed up to the Capitol. Grigsby stated that he attempted to spray the rioters as they were assaulting the police on that stairwell and had not intentionally sprayed any police officer.

 

We do know that at least one officer sprayed that day, had a different view of what had occurred: “Officer S.S. stated that the spray caused him extreme discomfort and forced him to retreat. Officer S.S. stated that the individual had intentionally sprayed him and was not attempting to spray other rioters.” 

Grigsby is also accused of retreating at that point, and later shows up holding a police shield, while another rioter nearby sprays police with some kind of chemicals. So, another alleged rioter: 

a.)   Not “let in” by police

b.)  Not peaceful and patriotic

c.)   Not proving that it was a “day of love”

d.)  Not being led on by FBI plants in the mob

e.)  Not Antifa 

UPDATE (April 15, 2026): While updating my records, I note that Kyle’s pardon didn’t do him all that much good. 

In 2024, he pleaded guilty to possession of child sex abuse materials and that landed him behind bars for three years. 

He later told authorities that he went to Washington D.C. in time to join the riot because President Trump asked him to come.

1654-1655. Jonathan Wayne “Duke” Valentour and Joseph Charles Valentour: Here we have another family team of rioters – an allegedly violent dad (Joseph) and allegedly violent son (Duke.) 

According to court documents, police body-worn camera footage shows Joseph Valentour approaching a police line on the Lower West Terrace of the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, appearing to purposefully back into it. It is alleged that after Valentour made contact with the police line, an officer attempted to push him back, but other rioters grabbed the officer’s baton and dragged the officer into the crowd.  Shortly thereafter, amid the ensuing chaos, additional body-worn camera video captured Valentour pushing against the police line. It is alleged that Valentour touched an unknown police officer’s shield multiple times and appeared to be working with other rioters to disarm the officer of the shield. Court documents say that Valentour’s efforts were eventually successful, causing the officer to fall down a flight of stairs.

 

Another officer then responded to the incident and went to assist the fallen officer; however, it is alleged that Valentour impeded the assisting officer’s forward movement by lowering his shoulder to hip height and forcibly using his body weight to charge at and push the assisting officer. Valentour’s efforts were successful as he moved the assisting officer away from the other officers. Additional police body-worn camera footage showed Valentour pushing the police line and making purposeful contact with yet another officer. Valentour then disengaged and moved into the crowd of rioters.

 

Court documents say that Valentour’s son, Duke, was roughly in the same area as his father. Police body-worn camera footage showed Duke, at about 2:04 p.m., allegedly charging through other rioters toward the police line. As Duke approached police, he interfered with, and resisted officers along the police line by forcibly pushing other rioters in front of him into the police line. It is alleged that Duke simultaneously attempted to grab and interfere with the officers at this location. Officers eventually successfully repelled Duke down a flight of stairs.

 

Shortly thereafter, it is alleged that Duke ran back up the stairs behind another rioter (who was carrying what appeared to be a police shield). Duke appeared to use this rioter for protection as he, again, attempted to interfere with officers along the police line by pushing this rioter into the officers. A nearby police officer deployed pepper spray in Duke’s direction, and Duke quickly retreated back down the stairs and into the mob.

 

Once again, the lie that these poor dopes had to be tricked into rioting is made plain. Dad came all the way from Ohio, and son traveled from Colorado, to do their little mite in overturning democracy.

1656. Joel Linn O’Donnell: The Clearwater, Florida man faces seven felony and two misdemeanor charges. His main problems, legally, are described in a DOJ charging document: 

[On January 6] At approximately 4:54 p.m., it is alleged that O’Donnell advanced toward the Lower West Terrace Tunnel, the site of some of the most violent attacks against law enforcement that day, while carrying a large wooden step and two long poles. Moments later, O’Donnell allegedly used these items as weapons, hurling all three of the objects at police officers defending the Tunnel.

 

At approximately 5:02 p.m., it is alleged that O’Donnell returned to the police line armed with a baseball bat and repeatedly struck a Metropolitan Police Department officer, hitting the officer’s riot shield. Court documents say that O’Donnell only retreated from the tunnel area after police deployed riot control munitions to disperse the crowd.

1657. Jorge Fournier: No doubt Mr. Fournier is experiencing a few emotional ups and downs just now. Four years had passed – and he had not yet been charged for his part in the January 6 attack on the Capitol. Less than a week to go…Trump will soon be inaugurated. Fournier can look forward to a pardon… 

Or not? 

Oh, so close. On January 14, 2025, the Statement of Facts in his case is filed, and Fournier gets arrested. Fournier had already admitted in an interview with federal agents that he was inside the Capitol during the riot – and, since he was preparing for a “day of love,” as Trump insists, he was dressed in love beads… 

Okay: He was dressed for war. 

He admits that's him; and that's his flag.

We know Mr. Fournier was picked up by like-minded Trump fans, at his home in Georgia, on January 5, and they all drove to D.C., singing, “Kumbaya” and maybe, “The Wheels on the Bus.” Or “99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.” 

Once inside the Capitol, a freelance reporter asked Fournier what the plan was. “What’s the plan? I have no idea,” he responded. “We got all day. Tonight. Tomorrow.” So, the plan, such as it was, would be to delay the counting of the electoral votes. One day. Two. Who knew. 

Shortly after 3 p.m. that day, police began clearing the rioters from the building. At that point, Fournier is accused of using a can of chemical spray to hit an officer in the face. Two other officers had to help the officer who had been hit, and Fournier took the opportunity to retreat and try to blend in with the rest of the mob. 

Evidence against him seems strong; and Fournier is charged with felony assault and other crimes.

1658. Nathan Bordeaux: With less than a week until Donald Dumpling took office again, Bordeaux was finally arrested. His alleged conduct on the “day of life,” as Donald now calls it:

 

According to court documents, Bordeaux was identified on video footage at the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021, among a mob of rioters fighting officers on the Northwest Capitol grounds. Later, Bordeaux appeared wearing a black hat, goggles, and a police riot shield while breaching the Northwest steps alongside the mob.

 

After breaching these steps, it is alleged that Bordeaux advanced to the Upper West Terrace with the riot shield, which he later handed to another rioter near the Senate Wing Door. At 2:13 p.m., Bordeaux can allegedly be seen on CCTV footage as one of the first rioters to breach the Capitol through this door. Inside, Bordeaux moved toward the Senate wing, crossed back, and proceeded to the Crypt, where he joined a group of rioters yelling and chanting. Bordeaux then made his way to the Small House Rotunda on the second floor, passed through Statuary Hall, and approached the Speaker’s Lobby doors.

 

At about 2:41 p.m., it is alleged that Bordeaux opened the Southeast doors from inside the Capitol and, at 2:47 p.m., exited to announce that a woman had been shot. He returned moments later, throwing a water bottle at Capitol Police, narrowly missing an officer. Bordeaux then re-entered the Capitol as officers attempted to secure the entrance. Court documents say that Bordeaux waved other rioters inside and exited and re-entered the building multiple times.

 

Logic often leads us to believe people like Bordeaux are Trump supporters, though we cannot say definitively. In this case we can only say that as a male, Trump was more likely to vote red. And in 2020, in Floyd County, Virginia, where he lives, the vote was 66% for Trump, 32% for Biden.

An ax handle on a “day of love.” 

1659. Frederick Breitfelder: Okay, we have another rioter, this time from the blogger’s hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Once again, proof that when Trump said January 6 was “a day of love,” Trump was lying, just as he spent four years lying about winning the 2020 election. 

Mr. Breitfelder stands accused of the following: 

 According to court documents, on Jan. 6, 2021, thousands of protesters gathered on the West Side of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. Initially outside a restricted area marked by fencing and bike rack barricades, the crowd grew increasingly hostile, breaching the barriers and forcing their way forward. Video evidence shows a man, later identified as Breitfelder, allegedly pulling on a bike rack barricade, creating an opening in the restricted perimeter and allowing rioters to advance toward the Capitol.

 

After breaching the outer barriers, protesters, including Breitfelder, encountered a second police line on the West Plaza. Officers from the United States Capitol Police (USCP) and Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) were stationed behind metal barricades at the top of a small flight of stairs. Rioters repeatedly tried to dismantle the barricades, assaulting and impeding officers in their efforts to breach the line. It is alleged that at approximately 2:02 p.m., body-worn camera footage captured Breitfelder at the front of the crowd, holding an axe handle above his head with both hands.

 

By 2:04 p.m., body-worn camera footage recorded rioters attacking the police line, pushing and pulling officers and their equipment. During this confrontation, it is alleged that Breitfelder swung the axe handle twice at an MPD officer's hand as the officer attempted to deploy pepper spray. The axe handle struck the metal barricade directly in front of the officer on both occasions. Officers struggled to maintain their position as rioters continued to assault them.

 

At approximately 2:12 p.m., rioters surged up the stairs again, pulling officers down and prompting others to descend to retrieve their colleagues. During this chaos, video footage captured Breitfelder allegedly pushing an MPD officer. Despite repeated efforts by officers to hold the line, the rioters ultimately breached it at around 2:30 p.m., forcing police to retreat. Breitfelder was captured on video at the forefront of the crowd as they pushed through the line, overtaking the West Plaza.

1660. Frank Peter Molinari Giorgi: “Day of love.” Trump said it was. Chumps believed him. 

Not this guy: 

At approximately 2:29 p.m., it is alleged that Giorgi was seen on the Capitol’s West Plaza wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, a gray and black backpack, and a bright red knit hat. Amid the chaos of breached police lines and retreating officers, Giorgi emerged from the crowd and charged at a Capitol Police officer.

       

Giorgi allegedly threw his body into the officer and struck them in the head with his hands. The officer managed to repel the attacker, after which Giorgi disappeared into the crowd. The FBI later released a photograph of him under the label “380-AFO” as part of their efforts to identify those involved in violence against law enforcement.

 

Later in the day, around 4:26 p.m., Giorgi reappeared on the Capitol’s Upper West Terrace, this time wearing a yellow knit hat. As police officers worked to push back rioters and restore order, Giorgi moved through the crowd toward the police line while others nearby shouted, “Hold the line!” and linked arms to resist officers. Giorgi was allegedly seen pushing against officers and resisting their attempts to move rioters back. Moments later, he grabbed a police officer’s head and neck, pulling the officer to the ground before walking away from the scene. This appearance was documented in photographs and video evidence under the label “327-AFO.”

Still not a “day of love.” 

1661. James Edward Porter: On the day of the riot, Porter told an interviewer in D.C. that he was from Hot Springs, Arkansas, and was “here to support the president.” In fact, according to the Statement of Facts in his case, during an interview with federal authorities, 

PORTER advised that before January 6, 2021, he spoke with a woman associated with “Women for Trump.” According to PORTER, when he discussed his plans to go to the rally on January 6, the woman told PORTER that “something epic” was going to happen in Washington, D.C. that day, but would not provide more detail.

 

So, as I edit this document at 10:54 p.m. on January 19, 2025, I am still looking for the elusive Antifa rioter who tricked dopes like Porter into coming to Washington to overturn results of a fair election.  

He is accused of pushing against police guarding a line of bicycle racks that day, and then grabbing the baton of Officer A.G., who was doing his best to keep the mob at bay. “After a struggle over the baton, Officer A.G. was able to remove PORTER’s hand from the baton,” the Statement explains. 

That must have seemed like fun, because “PORTER then squared up with another officer. PORTER lunged forward and pushed another officer as show in IMAGE 8.” 

Only after another rioter sprayed an orange chemical irritant at police, and apparently hit Mr. Porter, did he back away. 

In the interview conducted in July 2024, PORTER told your affiant that he went to the Capitol to do “what my president told me to do,” which he said was “have our voices heard about the election being stolen.” PORTER stated he helped people that had been pepper sprayed that were coming back from the front.

 

PORTER admitted that he grabbed an officer’s baton. He claimed that he was attempting to stop the officer from hitting a rioter who was on the ground. According to PORTER, he let the baton go, took a fighting stance, and said, “if you hit me, I’m gonna…gonna hit you.” PORTER told agents that he went home after he was hit with pepper spray. 

Trump “sent us,” he believed the election was stolen, allegedly violent.

1662. CHRISTOPHER STANTON GEORGIA: Georgia was arrested on the evening of January 6, when he and three other men refused to leave the Capitol grounds and charged accordingly. I missed his story, because three days later, the 53-year-old shot himself to death – a bullet to the chest. 

In a 911 call to authorities, his distraught wife told the dispatcher there was “blood everywhere.” 

The charge lodged against him was a misdemeanor carrying a fine of up to $1,000 and a sentence of 180 days in jail. 

I did not list other individuals arrested after the breach of the Capitol resulted; but Mr. Georgia is added because of his suicide.

The last arrest ever? 

1663. Brian Cole, Jr.: After years of reading about the January 6 crowd, we come to perhaps the last arrest that will result from the alleged or proven crimes of that day. For years, the identity of the man (or woman) who planted the bombs at the Democratic and Republican party headquarters in D.C. that day remained a mystery. 

In December 2025, Cole, 30, was finally identified and arrested. He admitted to police that he planted the bombs and said that he had believed in various conspiracy theories. You know: Like the ones President Trump worked so hard to spread. 

We can report that Mr. Cole’s attorney has argued that the blanket pardon issued by President Trump applies to his client. 

A spokesperson for the White House has said, however, that since the bombs were planted on January 5, Cole will be out of luck. 

Afterall, Donald has his standards, right?

 

FUN FACT: All kinds of conspiracy stories had been floated about the bomber’s identity. The right-wing website, Blaze, decided that you could identify the bomber by comparing “gaits,” and – what do you know – it turned out they were able to reveal that the planter was a Capitol Hill police officer. 

Meaning the plant was an “inside job.” 

At one point, the podcaster Dan Bongino told his listeners that the failure to identify the pipe-bomb was “the biggest scandal in FBI history” and that the FBI knew the identity of the bomber and “just doesn’t want to tell us because it was an inside job.” Then Trump made Bongino the second in command at the F.B.I., and Dan suddenly decided that the Agency remained “passionate about solving the case.” 

Cole was indicted in January 2026. 

He believed the election was stolen.

1664. (R.I.P.) Roseanne Boyland, 34, who was trampled to death by the mob, was a “fervent Trump supporter,” caught up in QAnon conspiracy thinking and “hatred for Joe Biden.” 

Her mother asked why she felt a need to be in D.C. on January 6. “My president has asked me to come support him,” she told her mom. “And I’ve done so many stupid things in my life that I’m going to do something that I really believe in.” After she was trampled, officers worked for ten minutes, trying to revive her.

Her brother-in-law, speaking to reporters the day after the melee, said he blamed her death on then-President Trump, who “incited a riot.”

James Russell Lowell was right, of course: “Language is the soil of thought.” In days and weeks after the 2020 election, President Trump laced the soil of political discourse with toxins. 

The crop he reaped was death and destruction. 

UPDATE (8/9/26): In a search for details on the deaths of all the individuals who died during or as a result of the riot (and that would include five police officers, one by heart attack, four by suicide), I found additional information regarding Ms. Boyland’s death. A month after she died, 

the D.C. medical examiner’s office released its conclusion that Boyland had died accidentally of “acute amphetamine intoxication.” According to the Washington Post, “The drug cited in Boyland’s death is addictive and can be prescribed to treat attention-deficit disorder and narcolepsy.”

 

Boyland’s sister told the Associated Press that a police detective told the family that Boyland – an avid Trump supporter who subscribed to Q Anon conspiracy theories – had collapsed while standing off to the side in the Capitol rotunda.

1665. (R.I.P.) Kevin Greeson: Greeson, 55, had once supported President Barack Obama. By the time of the riot, however, his allegiance had shifted dramatically. Now an ardent supporter of Donald J. Trump, Greeson had traveled all the way from Athens, Alabama, to take part in the protest on the day scheduled. He believed, for example, that the election had been stolen – an idea that President Trump had drummed into his head – and an idea that Trump has drummed into millions of heads in all the years since. On social media, in weeks prior to the riot, he had posted the kinds of messages that should have caused alarm bells to ring inside the White House. “Let’s take this f***ing Country BACK!!” he wrote. “Load your guns and take to the streets!” 

In an interview on January 7, with The New York Times, his wife, Kristi Greeson said her husband authorities had informed her that her husband died of a heart attack in all the excitement. 

Ms. Greeson said her husband, who was a father of five, had left home on Tuesday, spending the night in Virginia with a friend. She said her husband, who had high blood pressure, was excited to attend the rally, believing the election had been stolen.

 

“He felt like it was a monumental event in his mind,” she said. “I didn’t want him to go. I didn’t feel like it was safe.”

 

As the Times reported, “Mr. Greeson’s family said Thursday that ‘he was not there to participate in violence or rioting, nor did he condone such actions.’”

1666. (R.I.P.) Benjamin Phillips: A computer programmer from Ringtown, Pennsylvania, Mr. Phillips, 53, had organized a caravan of Trump supporters to drive to Washington D.C., as Donald Trump had ordered. 

So, he was there on January 6, exactly as the President of the United States had wanted; but he had heart problems and died during the rioting. There is no indication, however, that he ever joined in any violence.

BLOGGER’S EXPLANATION:

I got interested in the cases of the January 6 rioters after a former student (I used to teach history in middle school) insisted that the whole attack was a “setup” and Antifa really caused the problem. 

Like I said, I taught history. 

So, I like facts. 

Since then, I’ve looked into the cases of all 1,666 rioters and ancillary supporters charged or fired from jobs for backing the attack. 

My records may be incomplete in places, but I can assure you, I sifted through thousands of news articles and court documents. And, if nothing else, I can say with confidence that NO MEMBER of Antifa was ever charged.

Finally, I’ll be honest. I liked looking into these cases because I’m retired. And I liked seeing justice prevail. 

(At least, I did, until January 20, 2025, when a newly inaugurated Mr. Trump pardoned all of these individuals, including the very worst.)

Jim Jones had nothing on Trump. 

What have we learned about all the rioters arrested for their roles or alleged roles in the fiasco on January 6, 2021? 

By my count, at least four hundred and one (401) explicitly stated their belief that the 2020 election was stolen. See for example: Kenneth Grayson (#3 on our list), Douglas Harrington (#1163), a man more than ready to shed blood in the name of that empty lie, and Barbara Balmaseda (#1286), who helped organize groups of like-minded Trump fans to go riot. 

(This belief in stolen votes by the millions, would be a result of the president’s non-stop lying.)

 

Nor should we forget Jordan Berk (#1390). Convinced that the election was stolen, he posted on social media that he was ready for civil war. 

We also have Maria DeLuca (#1405), who interned for Rep. Paul Gosar, as clueless a f**k as there is in Congress today.  

We might also include Rachel Nohle (#1522) who both claimed Antifa was responsible for all the violence and then could say that she had helped “storm” the Capitol and would be proud to do it again. 

Or Robert Bixby, #1613, who took a face full of chemical spray from police on the “day of love,” as Donald Trump now speaks of it.

 

At least people sixty-three people (63), including Ms. Nohle, the father-son rioter duo, Philip and David Walker (#1569-1570), half a dozen Fox News pundits, one defense lawyer, Ray Epps (#600 on our list – and ironically, labeled repeatedly as an F.B.I. plant by Fox News!) and Rep. Matt Gaetz, claimed to have seen Antifa instigators leading the charge.

If you think these people were “tourists,” showing up on January 6, for a peaceful protest, as one GOP lawmaker insisted, you are one poor dumb cluck. Above: Jessica Watkins (#152), a member of the Oath Keepers, dressed for January 6. She has since been sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison for her efforts to aid in an insurrection.

Seventy arrestees (70) expressly stated that they believed in various aspects of the QAnon myth. Roseanne Boyland, another Trump supporter, and herself a believer in QAnon, was trampled to death by the mob, but never entered the Capitol – meaning she died for nothing.

If you ever wonder how people could join cults, you realize that Jim Jones had nothing on Trump.

At least seventy-seven (77) rioters charged so far, including Kevin Moore (#1641 on our list) are members of the Proud Boys, a right-wing extremist group. Prosecutors believe at least one hundred (100) were in or around the Capitol Building that day.

Trump told them to “stand back but stand by” during a presidential debate in October 2020. They showed up in force on January 6, 2021. Many others are believed to have been involved in the riot. 

There are at least forty-six (46) members of the Oath Keepers on our list, led by Elmer Stewart Rhodes III. Rhodes and a number of members of that group have been convicted of seditious conspiracy. 

At least seventeen suspects (17) appear to be members of the right-wing militia, the “Three Percenters.” 

As of January 19, 2025, five rioters (5) were fugitives. Evan Neumann (#399) fled to Belarus, where he asked for and was granted asylum. Adam Villarreal (#585) was never apprehended. Jennifer Inzuza Vargas Geller (#1043), her husband Spencer Sidney Geller (#1108) and Paul Belosic (#1187) also remained at large.

Charges against one “rioter” (1) were dropped after it was proven he never entered the Capitol and was bragging when he said he had. 

 

The price paid had been steep. 

By the time Donald Trump took the oath of office again, one thousand, two hundred, and eighty-one rioters and others (1,281) had been convicted, pled guilty, or lost their jobs.

Three defendants (3) were acquitted, Stephanie Baez, #330 on our list, James Beeks, #604 on our list, and Matthew Martin, #874 on our list. 

One rioter (1) was acquitted on a felony charge, but found guilty on five misdemeanors: Darrell Neely (#552). 

A jury acquitted Michael “Whip” Greene of the most serious felony charges against him, and he got off with one misdemeanor conviction, probation, and sixty hours of community service. (So: We’ll call that a “win” for Mr. Greene – even though he was still stupid enough to believe Trump won in 2020.) 

 

R.I.P. 

Twelve rioters (12) have died before going to trial. Ashli Babbitt (#56) was shot and killed during the attack. 

Matthew Perna (#52 on our list) and Mark Roderick Aungst (#236) committed suicide before their cases could be heard. So did David Kennedy Homol (#1309). Homol first came to the attention of authorities when his younger half-brother Dillon Homol (#728) came under investigation. 

Nejourde Meacham, age 22, (#1158) has died – some say a suicide. 

John Anderson (#265), Michael John Lopatic Sr. (#304), Roy Nelson Franklin (#588), William Hendry Mellors (#814), and William Bierbrodt (#1142) died of natural causes before trial. 

Joseph Barnes (#429) died in a motorcycle accident.

Dr. Tammy Tower Parry was shot and killed when she pointed a shotgun at two process servers delivering an eviction notice.

(Matthew Huttle was killed during a traffic stop, after he resisted arrest, just seven days after receiving his pardon.)
