2/15/22: Scientists report that the American Southwest is experiencing its worst drought in at least 1,200 years. According to experts with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the “moisture deficit” in the soil since the year 2000 is 42% worse as a result of climate change.
That’s the science, folks.
As for the
history: the last time the Southwest was this dry, the Anasazi had to abandon their
pueblos and cliff dwellings and vanished from the region.
