January 28, 2020: President Germaphobe Used to Blame Obama when Ebola "Spread"

1/28/20: We all know the president is a germaphobe. Considering current concerns, related to the coronavirus, it seemed like a good idea to see what Citizen Trump thought about the way President Obama handled the Ebola scare in 2014.

In those days, Trump was just an ordinary asshole with a Twitter account and only a few lonely souls paid attention to what he said. When I checked his Twitter archive, however, I was surprised to see that back in the day he fired off 103 tweets and retweets on the topic of Ebola.

Ebola was highly infectious and deadly.

Medical team moving an infected patient.

Citizen Trump

Naturally, he used most of those posts to stir up hatred and fear, because that’s what he does best. It was too bad, he tweeted, if missionaries and doctors went to West African to help – and got sick, themselves. “The U.S. cannot allow EBOLA infected people back,” he howled. “People that go to far away places to help out are great-but must suffer the consequences!”

Consequences?

Death?

You had all the typical Trumpisms: Obama was “stupid” to let sick Americans return. Obama didn’t “care” about the public. “It’s almost like he’s saying F-you to U.S. public,” Trump insisted. “Ebola is now a household name in America,” he yipped. A patient who showed symptoms only after returning from a trip to Liberia had “lied” on reentry. The contagion might even change society in a positive way. “Something very important, and indeed society changing, may come out of the Ebola epidemic that will be a very good thing,” Trump tweeted. “NO SHAKING HANDS!”

It wasn’t long before he landed on this nugget of unmitigated ignorance. Since it was Obama’s fault a doctor returned to America, and a nurse in Houston who treated him contracted the disease, Trump screamed, “Obama has a personal responsibility to visit & embrace all people in the US who contract Ebola!”

*

IT’S INTERESTING to go back and look at some of the stories from those days. ABC had a list of people infected, who came to the United States. It included missionaries, a doctor, even a doctor who worked as a missionary in West Africa. Trump insisted all flights to the U.S. from the region should be canceled. (Had those patients, all American citizens, then died overseas, Trump could have blamed Mr. Obama for that too.) Wikipedia has what seems like a solid list: seven patients who contracted the disease overseas, who returned to the United States. Four healthcare professionals in this country became infected. One of four died, as did a patient.

So, the panic was overblown. At this checking, there are six cases of the new coronavirus in the U.S.

If we follow Trump Logic, this is all Trump’s fault. Some serious hugging & embracing will soon be in order.

February 29, 2020: Donald Trump Jr. Hates when People Score Cheap Political Points!

2/29/20: President Trump announces that the uproar over the coronavirus is a “hoax” cooked up by Democrats to make him look bad.

____________________

Those of us on the other side of the political fence don’t want plague to sweep the land.

____________________

In fact, it pissed him off, he told another cheering throng at one of his rallies, Friday night, to think that these un-American Democrats would stoop so low as to “politicize” the crisis just to score cheap points.

Unfortunately, in the real world, where disease can kill regardless of politics, the first U.S. citizen to contract the COVID-19 virus on these shores has died.

(If the past is prologue, we know Trump won’t spend much time thinking about the first person to die.)

*

ON FRIDAY, Don Jr. did his best not to politicize the crisis by insisting Democrats wanted millions of Americans to die, just so the last survivors could vote against his dad.

So, once again, let’s be clear. Those of us on the other side of the political fence don’t want plague to sweep the land.

We do, however, believe that Jr.’s dad must be stopped at almost any cost from gaining a second term.

To drink deep the toxins President Trump has spilled into the waters of political discourse, let’s go back and see how he assessed the handling of an even more dangerous disease when Barack Obama was in charge. It was the summer of 2014. A new outbreak of Ebola was threatening to spread in West Africa, and, of course, by plane or boat, around the globe.

If we do a little digging, we quickly learn that Citizen Trump went bonkers as soon as the first case reached our shores. When I checked his Twitter archive, I was surprised to see he fired off 103 tweets and retweets on the topic of Ebola.

Don Jr. might want to look at the hysterical responses posted by his dad, that summer and fall. If people were stirring up panic in those days, for political points, his father was stirring with the biggest ladle of all. The nadir may have been reached been when dad labeled Obama a “psycho” for the way in which he was handling the disease. Going low, in other words, is a Trump family trait.

One of the most striking aspects of those five score and three tweets/retweets is how little sympathy Citizen Don had for others. That includes his own countrymen and women when they fell ill. Once it became known that Dr. Kent Brantley, who had been working in West Africa and contracted the disease, was allowed to return to the U.S., Trump howled as if the doctor was going to come traipsing into Trump Tower and spit in his soup. On August 1, 2014, Trump had this to offer: “The U.S. cannot allow EBOLA infected people back. People that go to far away places to help out are great-but must suffer the consequences!”

Remember that line.

One good howl deserved another, and Trump howled long and loud and with no more grasp of the science than a coyote on a hill. Trump screamed that all flights from West Africa must be stopped. No infected patients should be allowed to return. Send the doctors to them instead. The fact we were taking infected patients, he said, was “absolutely CRAZY – stupid pols.”

To listen to Trump was to believe that every move Obama made was meant to unleash pestilence in the streets. Below are some of Trump’s worst posts, with editorial comment supplied. Each and every one helped fuel hysteria and not one but was meant to score sleazebag political points.

Sept. 16: “Can you believe that the U.S. will be sending 3000 troops to Africa to help with Ebola. They will come home infected? We have enough problems.”

(No member of the U.S. military was infected while deployed.)

Sept. 19: “Why are we sending thousands of ill-trained soldiers into Ebola infested areas of Africa! Bring the plague back to U.S.? Obama is so stupid.”

Sept. 30: Here we go! I stated long ago that we should cancel all flights from West Africa. Now we have Ebola in U.S., AND IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE!

(Trump had already perfected the all-caps Twitter YELP.)

Same day: “The United States must immediately institute strong travel restrictions or Ebola will be all over the United States-a plague like no other!

(Seven Americans who contracted Ebola overseas were brought home.)

Oct. 2: “The Ebola patient who came into our country knew exactly what he was doing. Came into contact with over 100 people. Here we go-I told you so!”

(Thomas Duncan, a Liberian citizen, had been visiting family in Texas when he fell sick.)

Same day: “How incompetent are our leaders allowing these Ebola infected people to come into our country with all of the problems and danger entailed!”

(Obama failed! He let the guy in.)

Oct. 4: “This Ebola patient Thomas Duncan, who fraudulently entered the U.S. by signing false papers, is causing havoc. If he lives, prosecute!”

(As for prosecuting, Duncan soon dies.)

Same day: “Something very important, and indeed society changing, may come out of the Ebola epidemic that will be a very good thing: NO SHAKING HANDS!”

(Trump, the germaphobe, can only hope.)

Same day: “President Obama - close down the flights from Ebola infected areas right now, before it is too late! What the hell is wrong with you?”

Citizen Trump, who probably knew no more about Ebola, or science in general, than a lazy fourth grader, announces on October 6: “I will be on Fox & Friends (@foxandfriends) at 7.00. Fighting Ebola will be a topic!”

(This is a guy who believes exercise depletes the body’s finite supply of energy.)

Oct. 7: “Despite the ever increasing Ebola disaster, Obama refuses to stop flights from West Africa. It’s almost like he’s saying F-you to U.S. public.”

Oct. 9: “Obama won’t send troops to fight jihadists, yet sends them to Liberia to contract Ebola. He is a delusional failure.”

The next day Trump makes a second appearance on Fox News and tells the gaping boobs who watch why he doesn’t trust Obama when it comes to Ebola.

Or Benghazi!

Same day: “Obama is making the Ebola problem much worse than it needs to be in the U.S. by not halting flights from West Africa. Airport testing a joke.”

(Airport testing is currently our first line of defense against COVID-19.)

Oct. 12: “Here we go - A healthcare worker who treated Thomas Duncan, the man who flew into the U.S. from West Africa infected with Ebola, caught it!”

(A total of four Americans, in addition to the original seven, will be infected in weeks ahead.)

Same day: “I don’t know if President Obama isn’t stopping the flights from Ebola torn West Africa because he is stubborn, stupid, or just doesn’t care!”

(What kind of people would politicize a health crisis!!!)

Same day (a retweet): “‘@trucksellr2007: 150 travelers arriving daily in the U.S. from the Ebola hot zones of west Africa? This is insanity! #StopTheFlights.’”

Then we had this classic piece of what passed then – and still passes in similar forms – for Trumpian thought:

Oct. 15: “President Obama has a personal responsibility to visit & embrace all people in the US who contract Ebola!

Same day: “A nurse in Dallas who treated Ebola patient Thomas Duncan was allowed to fly to Cleveland. She should never have been so allowed! The real JV.”

(With Trump human sympathy rarely intrudes.)

Oct. 17: “Obama just appointed an Ebola Czar with zero experience in the medical area and zero experience in infectious disease control. A TOTAL JOKE!”

(Trump puts VP Mike Pence in charge of his COVID-19 team!)

Oct. 20: “I will be on @foxandfriends at 7.00 - 45 minutes. Talking about Ebola, Obama and other strange U.S. happenings!”

(Trump, talking science!!!)

Oct. 23: “There is a good possibility that a person who treated patients in West Africa and who FLEW into New York has Ebola. Touched many, bedlam!”

(Bedlam!)

Same day: “If this doctor, who so recklessly flew into New York from West Africa, has  Ebola, then Obama should apologize to the American people & resign!”

(See. Not scoring political points at all!)

Same day: “President Obama has a major meeting on the N.Y.C. Ebola outbreak, with people flying in from all over the country, but decided to play golf!”

What is Trump doing during this crisis? Go figure!

Oct. 24: “The Ebola doctor who just flew to N.Y. from West Africa and went on the subway, bowling and dining is a very SELFISH man-should have known!”

(Human kindness is not in Trump’s box of tools.)

Oct. 28: “President Obama strongly considering a plan to bring non-U.S. citizens with EBOLA to the United States for treatment. Now I know he’s nuts!”

The next day, October 29, it’s back to Fox News! This time Citizen Trump is there for an “interview @seanhannity discussing Obama’s failed presidency, Ebola, DC Post Office, midterms & 2016.”

Same day: Trump quotes himself in a retweet: “Donald Trump says it’s ‘morally unfair’ of Obama to send soldiers into Ebola hot zone.”

(Morals – always a Trump strong suit.)

Same day: “Obama will quarantine all soldiers returning from Africa for 21 days. But he still allows all who contract Ebola into country? Hypocrite.”

(All Americans brought back since the COVID-19 outbreak have been quarantined.)

Then, with all the various measures taken to control the spread of Ebola, not only inside the U.S.A., but also overseas, the outbreak was over.

There was no “bedlam” in the United States. Only eleven Americans contracted Ebola, seven overseas, four inside the United States. Two died. Trump had panicked his fans for no good reason.

Save to rack up political points.

*

IT’S TELLING, too, that only twice since, has Trump tweeted about Ebola. Once was to retweet Reverend Franklin Graham, on August 2, 2019. That was the fifth anniversary of Dr. Brantley’s return to the U.S. The good Christian doctor contracted Ebola in West Africa while doing both medical and missionary work. It was Brantley who was allowed to return for treatment, to Emory University in Atlanta, a decision that first set Citizen Trump off.

Now Trump approved of Pastor Graham’s take. Thank God, Dr. Brantley had recovered, Graham said, a “Good Samaritan” who had gone to Africa to do the Lord’s work.

The last mention, of course, was Trump bragging about himself. Again, it was a retweet of a post from HHS Secretary Alex Azar: “Thanks to US leadership under @POTUS, vaccines & therapeutics are saving lives and helping those affected by the #Ebola outbreak in the #DRC. Working with regional and international partners to stop the outbreak is one of our top global health priorities.

Exactly as it was back in 2014.

SO: WE’RE NOT ALL going to die. The spread of the COVID-19 virus is a serious issue. But we’re not all going to keel over dead.

Three new cases on Friday were found in the U.S. One in Oregon, particularly worrisome, since it was a school employee, one in Washington State, and one in California, and all rattled people’s nerves. That brought to four, cases in the U.S., where patients are not known to have traveled to infected regions, nor thought to have had contact with anyone who did.

That means the threat may grow – and the Trump administration may face a burgeoning problem.

But who could ever doubt Trump will rise to the occasion, and find someone else to blame if anything goes wrong?

BLOGGER’S NOTE (9/25/21): This was not a risky prediction to make. Who did Loser Don blame in the end? Everyone else.

May 16, 2020: Team Trump Blames Team Obama for Coronavirus Outbreak and Binder Shortage

5/16/20: The country is staggering towards a reopening and an uncertain recovery. But, by God, we’ve got binders! The best binders. Not one binder. We have two binders! Binders that prove Donald J. Trump is the best president ever.

Playbook for Early Response to High-Consequence Emerging Infectious Disease Threats and Biological Incidents

____________________

President Obama? He left the nation binder-less when he exited the White House 1,213 days ago.

And because Obama left us in a bind, completely without binders, 88,000 Americans have died.

During a press conference Friday, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany wanted to make this clear. Standing at the podium, she proudly displayed the fruits of three years of labor by Team Trump. “Binder 1” in her left hand! “Binder 2” in her right! Both filled with real ideas about how to handle the coronavirus crisis! I think she expected reporters and people listening at home to gasp.

Team Trump wasn’t slacking off. Not like Team Obama. These fantastic binders – and here she sneered at the work of the previous administration – could be compared to “this thin packet of paper [emphasis added]” left behind by the Obama folks, having to do with combating pandemics.

She held up the packet gingerly, by one corner, like a dead mouse in a trap, and handed it over to her “assistant, Wendy.”

Only, I didn’t gasp. My first thought: Taxpayers are paying this fool’s salary? And she has an assistant?

For what?

Watch the first minute of the clip, above.

My second thought was: This is so stupid, it’s hard to know where to begin. We supposedly learned on Monday, thanks to Sen. Mitch “Zero Charisma” McConnell, that the Obama administration was to blame for the spread of the coronavirus because they failed to leave behind “a game plan” to address pandemics. And – what? You thought Team Trump could have come up with a plan of their own in three years! Shows what you know. In a chat with Lara Trump, who probably knows less about pandemics than a panda, “Zero Charisma” grumbled, “They claim pandemics only happen once every hundred years but what if that’s no longer true? We want to be early, ready for the next one, because clearly the Obama administration did not leave to this administration any kind of game plan for something like this.”

“That’s exactly right,” Lara Trump responded.

Sound of this blogger slapping his forehead, followed by primal scream….

“HOOOOOOOOOLY F***ING S**T!”

Mitch wasn’t “exactly right.” He wasn’t even partly right. By Thursday, even Sen. Zero C. had been forced to acknowledge that he was wrong about what he claimed.

His attempt to pin the blame on a previous administration for the blunders (and binders) of Team Trump wouldn’t have made sense even had he been correct. The most obtuse person in the U.S. government should be able to recall the SARS outbreak of 2002. That virus spread to 26 countries.

A decade later, the MERS virus erupted in Saudi Arabia and struck across the Middle East. Pandemics don’t happen every hundred years. These threats are no longer rare. MERS struck again in 2015, this time in South Korea.

Trump called Obama a “psycho” during the Ebola outbreak.

If Team Trump didn’t understand that they might have to deal with a pandemic during their watch, then Team Trump would be entirely to blame. President Obama had to deal with the H1N1 virus in 2009. Then, in 2014, the Ebola virus began to ravage West Africa. We know Trump knew about that pandemic threat because he went berserk and said Obama was a “psycho” for the way he handled the crisis.

You could even say that Citizen Trump lost his nerve. He predicted that there would be “bedlam” in the streets after Obama allowed seven infected Americans, who had been working in West Africa, to return home for care.

As we have noted several times before, Trump – ever the hater – did say at one point, as Ebola spread:

What's worse? Trump's hate. Or the fact more than 8,000 Americans liked this idea?

As Politico reported in March, the previous administration did leave behind a 69-page plan titled: Playbook for Early Response to High-Consequence Emerging Infectious Disease Threats and Biological Incidents.

ABC News did a bit of digging, as good news organizations must, and noted that Mr. Trump had not once uttered the words “pandemic” or “preparedness” in any public way. ABC also noted the existence of the 69-page plan, as well as a similar plan prepared by the Bush 43 administration in 2006. As CNN pointed out, the Obama administration version “explicitly lists novel coronaviruses as one of the kinds of pathogens that could require a major response.”

The plan is also clear about where ultimate responsibility in a time of pandemic lies:

The U.S. government will use all powers at its disposal to prevent, slow or mitigate the spread of an emerging infectious disease threat. The American public will look to the U.S. government for action when multi-state or other significant events occur.

There’s even more you could say about how the Obama administration tried to prepare the Trump administration. If you’re interested, feel free to click the link above and read the document for yourself.

Something, you can bet, Trump never did.

IN RELATED NEWS, the COVID-19 toll rises inexorably. As of Friday evening, Johns Hopkins reported the U.S. had 1,442,924 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 87,493 deaths.

Those numbers looked so bad I decided I had better doublecheck the math. The Centers for Disease Control posts new numbers every day. CDC also has numbers that look grim. The figure for May 15 is now up; and on that one day we piled up another 22,977 cases. And on May 14 the U.S. recorded 27,191 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, the worst daily total in the last week.

I’m hoping that figure won’t jump again; but if you remember Trump saying the virus would go away in April, that brought the total for May to 372,652 new cases. That’s more in just 16 days than any other nation on earth has totaled since the crisis began.

A kingdom lost for the loss of a binder, Ben Franklin might have said.

“If we didn’t do any testing we would have very few cases.”

Let’s end today with this nugget from the man we have to pray will lead the nation out of this mess, much of which he made himself. Asked by reporters about the alarming numbers of cases the United States has seen, President Trump said this: “When you test, you have a case. When you test, you find something is wrong with people. If we didn’t do any testing we would have very few cases.”

Words of wisdom, from Donald J. Trump.

As we said at the top of this post, the stupidity we get from Team Trump is so profound, so all-encompassing, it’s hard to know where to begin or to end.

But, hey!

We have Binder 1 and Binder 2!!!

POSTSCRIPT: Here in Glendale, Ohio, where I live, people were out in force Friday and Saturday evening, eating and drinking at outdoor tables in the village square. I’m going to be diplomatic and say that, generally speaking, revelers seemed not to believe:

a.     Masks were a good idea.

b.    Six feet = seventy-two inches.

c.     People serving them food and drink might be nervous about getting coughed on by patrons.

In any case, the country is opening up, for good or ill. It’s easy to understand why people want to get back to work, why business owners want to reopen. It’s also easy to understand why waiters and waitresses, and others going back to work might want customers to work a little harder to help them remain safe. Since I have three daughters in the medical field, I understand why frontline medical personnel are worried we might be opening up too soon.

The math will help determine whether we are making a mistake. Saturday, the CDC recorded 31,967 new cases of coronavirus. That would make it the worst single day since April 25. Could be an aberration.

Could be the start of a Trump Bump.

August 10, 2020: The Hypocrisy of Donald J. Trump

8/10/20: The Big Ten conference, a pillar of college football, announces that there will be no games this fall.

No one would have been surprised if President Trump had announced that this was a “hoax” and insisted that all football players should immediately report to practice and sneeze on each other.

In other bad news – indicating that the coronavirus is not going away – the American Academy of Pediatrics reported that 97,000 children tested positive for COVID-19 in the last two weeks of July. At least 25 died, proving for the hundredth time that when Trump talks about the spread of this disease, he’s as clueless as a corncob.

Children are not, as he said recently, “virtually immune.” So, good luck educators, as you reopen schools this month.

*

AS FOR OUR DEAR PRESIDENT, you know he was delving deep into the details of the school reopening this weekend….

Okay, not. He got in another round of golf on Sunday, his 288th tour of the links since taking office. I swear, I think he’s trying to play as many rounds in one term as President Obama did in two – perhaps realizing that polls indicate (as of now) that a second term isn’t in the cards.

When Obama golfed (about half as often as Trump)

Trump and his cult members hated complained about every round.

“If 160,000 people had died on President Obama’s watch, do you think you would have called for his resignation?”

Reporter’s query for President Trump

____________________

AFTER A BUSY WEEKEND, Trump was back, “hard at work” on Monday. At a press conference he talked about the challenge we faced in turning back the killer virus. By way of excuse, he said it was a challenge unlike any seen in more than a century. “The closest thing is in 1917, they say, the great pandemic was a terrible thing where they lost anywhere from 50 to 100 million people.” Then he added, “Probably ended the Second World War. All the soldiers were sick.”

The White House later insisted that Trump had suffered a slip of the tongue. He meant to say, “World War I.” But how does one make that kind of slip and not catch it at once? And even if it were a slip, it was wrong, and you would think the President of the United States would have a firmer grip on history. First, the pandemic erupted in 1918. Second, the Germans didn’t agree to an armistice in November 1918 because of flu. Their army had been bled white during four years of trench warfare. Over two million German soldiers filled the cemeteries and millions more had been maimed by wounds or disabled by lung-searing gassings.

Trump’s wrong-turn into history was prompted by a reporter asking a “Fake News” kind of question. “If 160,000 people had died on President Obama’s watch,” the journalist wondered, “do you think you would have called for his resignation?”

“No, I wouldn’t have done that,” Trump lied. (You could argue that whenever he tells the truth, that’s actually a slip of the tongue.) He was perfectly happy with the fine job he and his administration were doing. “I think it’s been amazing what we’ve been able to do [emphasis added]. If we didn’t close up our country, we would have had 1.5 or 2 million people already dead.”

“We’ve called it right, now we don’t have to close it. We understand the disease. Nobody understood it because nobody’s ever seen anything like this.”

Then he launched into his lesson about World War II, or World War I, or for all he knew, the Spanish-American War. Trump was just getting started bungling basic history, and soon showed he was not only clueless but classless. It was six years ago, that Ebola erupted in West Africa. Trump seems to have amnesia about what he said then. When President  Obama allowed seven infected Americans to return to this country and go into quarantine, Trump was livid. He predicted “bedlam.” He called Obama a “psycho.” He said his predecessor didn’t care about the American people. Obama should have to “embrace” anyone who became infected as a result of his decisions.

Trump howled at the time. He did say Barack Obama should resign. He said that when a total of 11 Americans fell ill. He said that when two died. You’d think he’d remember and be humbler today.

Then again: This is Trump.

NEW COVID-19 cases for the day:

40,522.

FEBRUARY 2020 – SPECIAL ADDENDUM

For four years now, I have done my best to highlight both the duplicity and the imbecility of President Trump. For today, I would like to quote at great length from a mocking editorial penned by George Conway, a Republican, a Never Trumper, and husband to White House aide Kellyanne Conway.

The editorial in the Washington Post, is titled, “I (still) believe the president, and in the president.”

Conway does a masterful job of using the president’s own words to expose the Orange Buffoon’s innumerable flaws. He begins, tongue-in-cheek:

I believe the president Made America Great Again. I believe we need him reelected to Make America Great Again Again.

I believe Joe Biden is “Sleepy” and “weak.” I believe Biden could “hurt God” and the Bible.

I believe that if Biden is elected, there will be “no religion, no anything,” and he would confiscate all guns, “immediately and without notice.” He would “abolish” “our great,” “beautiful suburbs,” not to mention “the American way of life.” There would be “no windows, no nothing” in buildings.

I believe it’s normal for the president to say “Yo Semites” and “Yo Seminites,” “Thigh Land,” “Minne-a-napolis,” “toe-tally-taria-tism,” “Thomas Jeffers” and “Ulyss-eus S. Grant.” I believe it’s Biden who’s cognitively impaired.

Conway also “believes” the 45th president has the pandemic totally under control, because – um – he says he does:

I believe the president has “a natural ability,” like his “great, super-genius uncle” from MIT, which is why he understands “that whole world” of virology and epidemiology.

So I believed the president in January and February when he said covid-19 was “totally under control,” that it was Democrats’ “new hoax,” and that he was “not at all” worried about a pandemic. I believed him in March when he said he “felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.”

I believe the president and the doctor who believes in demon sperm and the medical use of space alien DNA, and not Anthony S. Fauci, who’s an “alarmist” and “wrong.”

I believe the president’s suggestions that physicians should try injecting patients with household disinfectants, and shining ultraviolet light inside their bodies, make perfect sense.

I believe the “books” and “manuals,” if someone would just read them, say “you can test too much” for covid-19. I believe we now have 5 million cases because we test so much, and that the president was right to slow testing down, unless he was kidding — in which case he was right not to.

I believe that the president has done a tremendous job fighting the virus — and that he shouldn’t “take responsibility at all”— even though about 160,000 Americans have died. I believe the virus “is what it is.”

I hate to leave any part of this editorial out, but Conway finishes with a perfect takedown of Trumpian and Republican howling about the coming election – which will be totally rigged – unless Trump wins.

(Trump basically said the same in 2016.)

Conway finishes with this:

I believe absentee voting, where voters mail in their ballots, is good, and that mail-in voting, where voters mail in their ballots, is totally different, and bad — and will result in “the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election” in history. Except in Florida, where absentee and mail-in voting are the same and both good, “because Florida has got a great Republican governor.”

I believe we should “Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote” — but that “SCHOOLS MUST OPEN IN THE FALL!!!”

I believe the president won the popular vote in 2016 “if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.” I believe he shouldn’t accept the election results if he loses in November.

(Proofreading and editing my blog in June 2021, we have to say Conway called Trump’s reaction to defeat perfectly.)
