10/24/17: Some days, you just have to face
the fact that the President of the United States is a giant dick.
Who is pissing off the president today? It’s Senator Corker,
ironically, one of the first
establishment Republicansto back him during the campaign. Corker
is now one of Trump’s harshest critics.
At 7:13 a.m. Trump launches the first in a barrage of tweets:
“Bob Corker, who helped President O give us the bad Iran Deal & couldn’t
get elected dog catcher in Tennessee, is now fighting Tax Cuts....”
Again, at 7:20 a.m. “...Corker dropped out of the race in
Tennessee when I refused to endorse him, and now is only negative on anything
Trump. Look at his record!”
Duh: The Supreme Court has already ruled on this issue. A typical tweet: Ill-informed and scary.
At 9:13 he’s tap-tapping furiously again: “Sen. Corker is the
incompetent head of the Foreign Relations Committee, & look how poorly the
U.S. has done. He doesn’t have a clue as.....”
Seven minutes pass. What to tweet? Ah, it comes to Trump:
“...the entire World WAS laughing and taking advantage of us. People like
liddle’ Bob Corker have set the U.S. way back. Now we move forward!”
12/28/19: In the second-to-last of 55 tweets yesterday, just minutes before
midnight, Trump revealed the name, at least what he believes is the name of the
whistleblower, in a retweet. He doesn’t care that the laws are written to
protect the anonymity of whistleblowers. He doesn’t care if the whistleblower
has been threatened with death if his/her identity is revealed.
He
doesn’t care because he is devoid of scruples and empathy.

Lawyer for
the whistleblower

That
tweet stays up long enough to get more than 32,000 likes and 14,000 retweets.
Then someone must have slapped the president’s phone out of his hand, and the
tweet was deleted.
And
let’s not forget what the whistleblower’s lawyers recently said.
Our client is legally entitled
to anonymity. Disclosure of the name of any person who may be suspected to be
the whistleblower places that individual and their family in great physical
danger. Any physical harm the individual and/or their family suffers as a
result of disclosure means that the individuals and publications reporting such
names will be personally liable for that harm. Such behavior is at the pinnacle
of irresponsibility and is intentionally reckless.
According
to the Washington Post, the whistleblower is reportedly being driven to and from work by armed security.
So, remember when you vote.
President Trump has no problem putting an American family at serious risk of
harm.

AT 5:15
P.M., Trump doubles down on disgusting. He tweets reference to former F.B.I.
Director James Comey: “A Dirty Cop at the highest level. Scum!”
Trump
has no decency and no shame. His words often stir the worst of his supporters
to hate.
In
related news, The New York Timespublishes a story on Trump fans who are preparing for violence. Many fear
that the country is facing a Muslim invasion. Others make it clear that
they hated Obama and admit race was a factor. One insists he’d have liked to
see Hillary Clinton hanging from a tree. Mark Villalta tells a reporter
he’s stockpiling firearms and ammunition ahead of the next election.
If Trump should lose, he warns, “Nothing less than a civil
war would happen. I don’t believe in violence, but I’ll do what I got to do.”
6/5/20: At 12:21 a.m. President Trump
gets a busy day as leader of the Free World off to a rousing start. He’s up
late, a rarity. He notes his happiness that Iran has released Mike White, a
Navy veteran, held hostage for two years. “So great to have Michael home. Just
arrived. Very exciting. Thank you to Iran. Don’t wait until after U.S. Election
to make the Big deal. I’m going to win. You’ll make a better deal now!”

Why a
good deal before the next election?

Yes. Good news to have Mr. White back.
But why was Trump offering a country he considers a sworn
enemy a good deal before the next election? Kind of like asking Ukraine for
help? Or listening to Russian offers in 2016? Trump should be trying to get the
best deal with Iran possible, before the election, or after. Timing wouldn’t
matter.

Tweeting is what the man does best.
IT WAS off to bed soon after, for Mr. Sleepy. And then Trump
rose again and began tweeting like a man who couldn’t stop watching porno. There
were 55 retweets during the six a.m. hour, almost one per minute.
That included Trump quoting Sen. Deb Fischer announcing: “I
cannot think of a better way to celebrate Beef Month than by eating a burger
today for #NationalBeefBurgerDay and sending a thank you to all
our NE [Nebraska] cattle producers who are working hard to put beef on our
tables.”
You could perhaps commend the president for stamina and lightning
quick thumbs, because in the seven a.m. hour he posted 74 times. He was, for
example, excited to learn that the U.S. recovered 2.5 million jobs in May. So,
he retweeted the White House, which reported, “With 2.5 MILLION jobs added in
May, we’re on the way to an incredible period of growth!”
Trump laid off at 8:01 and didn’t log back on to Twitter until
10:43. The onslaught recommenced. Trump went with the utter simplicity of
retweeting a rabid Fox News host and Trump fan:
The president tweeted in the eleven a.m. hour, the twelve
p.m., the one p.m., the two p.m. and the three p.m. hours. At 3:08 p.m., with a
nation torn by protests, Trump spent his time as leader of a great nation,
critiquing NFL quarterback Drew Brees. Brees had first said he did not
believe players should kneel in protest when the 2020 season begins. Then
he thought it over and apologized for insensitivity. In Trump’s world you never
apologize. Sensitivity is weakness. So is human decency.
He tap-tapped:
I am a big fan of Drew
Brees. I think he’s truly one of the greatest quarterbacks, but he should not
have taken back his original stance on honoring our magnificent American Flag.
OLD GLORY is to be revered, cherished, and flown high...
...We should be standing
up straight and tall, ideally with a salute, or a hand on heart. There are
other things you can protest, but not our Great American Flag - NO KNEELING!
The job of being president distracted him until after
dinner. But in the six p.m. hour he was doing what he does best – lashing out
at other Americans, who he is supposed to represent. He called the mayor of
Washington D.C. “grossly incompetent,” which is a great way to help keep order
in any city.
In the next hour he retweeted the founder and co-chair of
TrumpStudents, Ryan Fournier, who offered up another burst of simplicity: “Barack Obama put a target on the back of every cop in this
country.” Because, sure. Criticizing what the only African American president
we’ve ever had supposedly did four years ago will help sooth frayed nerves now.
Then we had Trump talking about Gov. John Hickenlooper,
“who got caught big time with his hand in the cookie jar.”
And Trump outraged to find Portland, Oregon had paid a
“violent Antifa leader for getting hit with a rubber bullet.”
And the president retweeting some dude, retweeting some
other dude, who was criticizing The New York Times.
In the eight p.m. hour, an apparently rejuvenated President
of the United States began tweeting vehemently once more: another 36 posts,
including a revisit to his first tweet of the day, welcoming Michael White
home.
By now, bedtime was approaching. Trump got in a formulaic
shot at the free press. “The Lamestream Media is out of control,” he said. “It
would be impossible to fully explain how dishonest they are!”
At 10:19, Trump signed off with a plug for a book you figure
he’s never going to read (and I don’t mean the Bible). Exhausted by a busy day
of tweeting – more than 200 posts –
he
collapsed into bed.
7/27/20: Even the Reagan Foundation poked
the current president in the eye this weekend. The Trump 2020 Campaign has been
informed it may not use President Reagan’s image to sell products or raise
funds.
This made the man in the White House mad. Fox News polls made
him madder. Those polls showed him trailing Joe Biden. In a testy tweet, Trump blasted Fox News. He also labeled former
U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan a “RINO.”
According to the president, the Fox News poll was fake. So
are all the other polls that show him behind.
Which is all of them.
*
OTHERWISE, the president spent the weekend at his resort in
Bedminster, New Jersey. On Saturday he went golfing. It was so much fun he went
golfing again on Sunday. His partner for that round was former NFL star Brett
Favre. Trump has now shot 282 rounds since taking office, one round every 4.6 days.
Trump took time off from tweeting to go golfing.

HOW ARE WE DOING on the COVID-19 front? According to the CDC 1 in 3 persons infected suffer from “prolonged
illness,” including younger adults.
We know the toll is rising. Last week more than 1,000 Americans died from the coronavirus, five days
in a row. Not good at all.
Call it the equivalent of four commercial airliners crashing
per day, with all onboard perishing.
The recently infectedinclude Trump’s National
Security Advisor, Robert O’Brien. Major League baseball’s Miami Marlins are canceling their home opener – which will disappoint all the fans not allowed to
attend. An even dozen players and a pair of Marlins coaches have tested
positive. New cases of coronavirus in the United States, July 27:
12/29/20: According to Lame Duck Don’s official schedule, he is working “tirelessly” for the American people today.

Well, for the less-than-half who voted for him, anyway. With a monomaniacal focus, he continues to battle to overturn election results. Latest fantasy on the right: The poor devil who blew himself and a good chunk of downtown Nashville to bits, is said to have been part of a “Deep State” plot. He knocked out the AT&T facility because inside they were gathering proof that the Dominion Voting Machines were rigged!
Trump and members of his cult are still convinced he won 96% of the popular vote and swept all 58 states.
*
TODAY, the U.S. Senate will vote. Will a second round of stimulus checks mean each and every American (below fairly generous income levels) gets a $2,000 check? Or will Mitch McConnell and his merry band of former “fiscal hawks” remember they came to office as Tea Party folk?
Then it’s $600 for you.

AFTER A HOLIDAY LULL, the death toll from coronavirus rose slightly Monday and spiked Tuesday, to near record levels.
Daily death toll:
12/28:1,783
12/29:3,406
Yet, on the COVID-19 front, we know the president is strangely silent. This, despite the fact his daily schedule indicates he is working “tirelessly” for all Americans, even the 81 million of us who voted for Joe Biden.
Vaccine distribution has been moving much more slowly than expected. It’s a healthcare Rubik’s cube, with all kinds of challenges, and even a normal president would find his or her days filled with difficulties.
Or you could be Trump.
Lame Duck Don continues to channel his “tireless” efforts into tweeting and demanding that he be granted a second term, even if a solid majority of voters made it clear they were tired of his ineptitude and predilection for breaking state and federal law. Also, tens of millions of us voted against him because we enjoy having three functioning branches of government, and don’t believe practitioners of the free press are “Enemies of the People.” That is: We voted against his Fascist Lite style.
Once again, Trump tried to prove on Tuesday that he deserved a second term by ignoring the challenges he faces as his first term comes to a humiliating end. That meant we got a heavy dose of furious tweeting.
To summarize the president’s output for the day, a few pungent phrases: “Weak and tired Republican ‘leadership,’” say goodbye to “our great soldiers” being brought home “from foreign lands that do NOTHING for us.” “Disgraceful act of cowardice,” get a better bill, “or better leaders, NOW!”
As expected, we had claims of rigged voting results. Four times did Trump “tirelessly” tweet on the topic. In Pennsylvania, “200,000 more votes were counted, than there were voters and “(100% went to Biden).” “All other Swing States show likewise.” “WE NEED NEW & ENERGETIC REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP.” The leaders we have only want to follow “the path of least resistance.”
Finally, to sum it up, Trump exclaimed, “Our leaders (not me, of course!) are pathetic. They only know how to lose!” Not Trump. He got many lawmakers elected, and now, “I do believe they forget it.”
As for any problems with the vaccine rollout, Trump wanted it to be clear that great leadership – like he has displayed – means washing your hands of the problem. His “tireless” tweet on the topic:
It is up to the States to distribute the vaccines once brought to the designated areas by the Federal Government. We have not only developed the vaccines, including putting up money to move the process along quickly, but gotten them to the states. Biden failed with Swine Flu!
Ah, yes, the old Swine Flu slam. Irrelevant, at best, when the overall death toll from COVID-19 stands at:
337,419.
POSTSCRIPT: Late Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocks a stand-alone bill passed overwhelmingly by the House of Representatives. That bill would have granted millions of struggling Americans $2,000 each during this time of disease, death, and job and business disaster.
